RAMIEL PANGANIBAN Aliases: Rami Species: Swallowtail butterfly (demihuman) Age: 39 Date of Birth: February 16, 2976 (equivalent to 1976) Hair: short wavy/lightly curly hair, black Eyes: black scleras, purple irises, sharp and always crazed or glaring. Body: 5"8ft tall, slim build, four arms, white skin with short fur. Wings: Mainly brown but has other colors such as yellow patterns and bits of blue and red at the bottom wings Face: almond-shaped eyes, youthful appearance, less human-like, black nose crest marking, tongue is long and black which resembles a proboscis. Features: cut scars on wrists from when he needed to use his blood for his ability. Black marks on skin but only around the hands Scent: Floral, but sometimes coppery from blood Clothing: Wears a black cavalry uniform with a purple/gold colored sash over it with multiple badges (5 star ranking, , (will add more)). Wears black pants held by a belt. Appearance is regal but also practical and comfortable for fighting

Title(s): Chief General of the Royal Krysellian Army, Prince of Kryselis Traits: does not outwardly show emotions other than pure anger in the form of yelling at his subordinates, controlling, can be quite sarcastic, gives degrading nicknames to those he views as inferior. Rarely smiles, if he does it would look awkward, scary, and stiff. Almost obsessed with trying to be masculine, "be a damn man" is a quote he uses on himself and those he trains. Heavily dislikes his youthful and feminine appearance, often leaves his wings open to seem bigger and intimidating even when resting.

Opinions: He believes that what he does will eventually bring good to the empire, even through cruelty or isolation. He does not like being referred to as Prince as he sees it as "a lazy title only to achieve when you are lucky enough to be born with it.

Romance/Sexuality: Does not go by a label. Attraction leans more on women, has never considered dating men but would only most likely get into feminine boys. Relationships: (Deceased) RAMIEL'S PARENTS: Ramiel never felt close to his family, let alone his parents, and neither they were to him as they paid more attention to Genoveva. They were the ones that groomed him into normalizing violence in the first place, teaching his role as general of some sort. His parents, especially his father trained him harshly ever since he first emerged from his chrysalis. But regardless of their treatment, Ramiel admired his father greatly.

GENEVIEVE PANGANIBAN: RAMIEL'S SISTER: He believed her to be a better ruler than he is, as Ramiel is raised to be more of a warrior between the two but Genevieve seemed to get the most attention. Despite his admiration for her, he feels envious that she gets more recognition than him whether personally or politicall. But regardless, he will still defend her even if it means suppressing these feelings of envy. His vivid memory he had with Genevieve is when he kept bullying her by headbutting her when they were still caterpillars.

COLONEL PICH CHHAYA: A ladybug, and RAMIEL'S WIFE OF 5 YEARS. Despite how busy the two are and how they're not in the same chain in command, he does what he could to be intimate and affectionate with her, often having a habit of hugging her from behind even whilst talking casually. The two may somewhat be arranged into marriage but surprisingly the two genuinely had feelings for each other. As much as Ramiel loves her, though, they never lets their personal relationship affect their duty as both are strict about it. Chhaya is a very determined soldier, with enough determination to reach the Colonel rank, though she prefers long-range fighting than melee. She is a little chubby, and shorter than Ramiel at around 5'4ft, but she is older than him by 3 years, being 42 years old.

GENERAL AGUNG: A Rhinoceros Beetle, gruff and strong, mainly because he's tanky... He is often serious and disciplined. Despite his rank he can be gentle and rarely fights unless needed to. He is currently divorced and has been sad about it as of late. He is Indonesian. Ramiel trusts Agung the most out of his officers.

ZAKI AND ARIF: Hornets and Genevieve's personal bodyguards. Zaki is the less serious out out of the two, he is brave but comes off as bold and often flirty, but that comes out of his own desperation for a girlfriend, his habit of catcalling shows it. Arif on the other hand takes their duties seriously, they do their job quick but comes off as closed off despite always getting persuaded by Zaki's shenanigans. Both speak in Malaysian, but only Arif rarely speaks english. Genevieve is neutral towards these two, but Ramiel really dislikes them and their tomfoolery. Yells at the both of them whatever chance he gets.

WORLDBUILDING: *Humans became extinct after an almost world-ending war that involves some nuclear bombing, with the remaining organisms on the planet taking their place (literally) and swearing to never repeat the same mistakes mankind had made. It is now the 31st century, the earth now populates demi-humans of every species (mammals, reptiles, fish, insects, etc.) with each species having their own empires or kingdoms or whatnot. Other than that, all of them have their corresponding elements based off of the 5 elements of the Pentacle; Air, Water, Fire, Earth, and Spirit. Kryselis represents the Earth element, which can include not only earth itself but nature, biological function, and life.

Kryselis, the kingdom of insects have always been rather traditional compared to the others that are now modernized, the kingdom is ruled by a monarchy but not always a good one. Only the insects are known to have a caste system, other classes (mammals, reptiles, etc.) do not fall under the caste system.

• Cities and towns are a lot more calming and tranquil in the morning with few people, but crowded and lively at night as Krysellians are mostly nocturnal.

• The empire is isolated from the rest of the world (it is located in southeast Asia.) Tourism is allowed but highly restricted and only a small amount are allowed in a year. Foreigners always have their things examined before going through the entry points, and they are always accompanied by a tour guide or officer. Electronics are also heavily supervised as they cannot take videos or photos of anything else other than designated public tourist sites, as it will be punishable. Foreigners can talk to Krysellian citizens only with supervision. Last but not the least, disrespecting or questioning the cultures, religions, or even leaders can lead to severe consequences. They give you warnings but punishments can go from arrest to deportation.

*There are gender roles in Kryselis. Women are seen as leaders and are educated heavily but are physically smaller and "fragile" in biology (though it depends on species). Whereas men are assigned the role of fighters and protectors, if they are not built to fight they are immediately assigned as workers. Considering gender has a house role in caste systems for eusocial bugs, being transgender is highly looked down on.

• Their religion has a lot to do with life and nature as a whole. Their god(dess) is depicted as a female insect often a Bee or a Mantis. The religion teaches how important life is and that living beings regardless if they are flora or fauna deserves respect. It is also taught that your bodies should also be given respect.

• queerness is complicated in Kryselis, though most homosexual relationships happens due to mistaking in identity or desperation. There are no laws against LGBT, however same-sex relationships are highly discouraged for procreation but is tolerable.

• Many insects don't feel love the same way other animals do. Marriage for them is more for alliance and loyalty than love itself. But that doesn't always apply to every insect/bug

• The Kryselian empire is based off of South-East Asian culture (includes Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, etc.)

Backstory:

• Ramiel and his sister Genevieve were the only children to the former Empress. Genevieve who was often praised more than he is, he grew up to be a rather odd yet active child. However he was treated more like an excess child to tend to. He wasn't raised to have an identity of his own outside being a combatant or protecting his sister. He often has a hard time finding his own hobbies.

• He admired his father and his many achievements as a chief general and aspired to be just like him. He trained under his father, and it was really really harsh. Punishments often go as far as beatings or starvation. But Ramiel didn't care.

• When Ramiel's father was assassinated by a reptilian, another war has started between the Krysellians and the Reptiles after long history of mutual resentment, his father's title was passed down to Ramiel, making him the new Chief General. Ramiel didn't cry, emotions are for the weak his father said.... But his death may have affected him greatly. He mourns him to this day and still has nightmares about him.

• Ramiel knew that his sister was prioritized among their parents more than he is with her being the heir to the throne. He insisted that he didn't mind and that his sister deserved the role than he did, though he can't help but feel envious that their parents, especially their mother loved her more than him.

• Ramiel cares about his people and the land. He would do anything he could to preserve it.

Goal: To protect his people and sister as well as preserving the land from any threats.
