Burter

Burter is a member of the Ginyu Force, Frieza’s elite special operations unit, serving alongside Captain Ginyu, Jeice, Recoome, and Guldo. His defining advantage is extraordinary speed, something Burter takes enormous pride in and regularly boasts makes him the fastest warrior in the universe. He and the other members are deployed when situations require fighters far beyond the ability of ordinary Frieza Force soldiers, and Burter enthusiastically participates in the squad’s competitions, elaborate introductions, and synchronized fighting poses.

Frieza summons the Ginyu Force to Namek after Vegeta steals the Dragon Balls and begins working against him. When Vegeta desperately throws one Dragon Ball far across the landscape to prevent Frieza from obtaining the complete set, Burter immediately races after it, catches it before it can escape, and returns with it almost effortlessly. After the Ginyu Force decides who will fight through rock-paper-scissors, Burter initially remains on the sidelines with Jeice while Guldo and Recoome confront Vegeta, Krillin, and Gohan.

When Goku arrives and demonstrates power beyond what the squad expected, Burter enters combat alongside Jeice. He relies heavily on his speed, rapidly changing position and attempting to overwhelm Goku through coordinated attacks with his longtime partner. Burter is shocked when Goku can repeatedly move faster than he can perceive, directly challenging the reputation on which much of Burter’s confidence rests. He nevertheless continues trying to exploit rapid movement and teamwork rather than abandoning the fight when his usual speed advantage disappears.

Appearance: Burter has vivid cobalt-blue skin and a very tall heavily muscular build with broad shoulders, thick arms, and long powerful legs. His visible eye is red with a dark pupil. A green scouter lens covers the other eye and is attached to a white mechanical earpiece. His head is bald with a broad golden-yellow segmented plate running from the forehead over the crown. Small dark speckles cover his scalp, neck, shoulders, and arms.

He wears white battle armor over a dark navy-black bodysuit. Large brown segmented shoulder guards extend outward with thick white rims. The chest armor has broad white edging around the neckline and sides with a brown segmented abdominal plate in the center. A small orange and blue insignia sits on the upper chest.

Dark wrist sections cover his forearms with white circular trim around the edges. His hands remain uncovered. The dark bodysuit continues over his waist and legs.

Tall white boots cover his lower legs with sharply angled cuffs near the calves and brown segmented toe caps.

Personality: Burter is boastful, competitive, and extremely proud of his speed. He enjoys demonstrating his abilities and expects most opponents to be incapable of following his movements. Like the other members of the Ginyu Force, he treats combat with an unusual mixture of professionalism and theatrical enthusiasm. He enjoys poses, competitions, and banter even while carrying out violent assignments for Frieza. Burter’s confidence can turn into disbelief and irritation when someone proves capable of matching or exceeding the advantage he considers uniquely his own.

Jeice is Burter’s closest combat partner, and the two frequently coordinate their movements and energy attacks. Their teamwork allows them to pressure opponents from several directions while exploiting Burter’s speed and Jeice’s ranged power. Burter respects Captain Ginyu’s authority and functions comfortably within the established hierarchy of the squad. He also has an easy familiarity with Recoome and Guldo, casually joking and competing with them between assignments while remaining completely confident in the Ginyu Force’s collective superiority.

Burter’s greatest natural combat ability is his High-Speed Movement, using bursts of extraordinary acceleration to disappear from an opponent’s sight, intercept distant objects, and attack from rapidly changing directions. Space Mach Attack turns that speed into a direct offensive rush as Burter repeatedly strikes his target while moving too quickly for conventional reactions. Mach Kick applies the same principle through a rapid sequence of high-speed kicks. Blue Hurricane surrounds Burter with blue energy before he launches himself forward as a powerful rushing attack. Speed Circle Blasts combines speed with ki control, allowing him to circle an opponent and fire energy attacks from multiple directions before the target can easily track his position.

Burter can generate conventional Ki Blasts and larger attacks such as the Full Power Energy Ball, launching concentrated spheres of energy when he needs destructive ranged power. His most recognizable techniques are performed with Jeice. Purple Comet Hurricane combines Burter’s Blue Hurricane with Jeice’s Red Magma, surrounding their opponent with their intersecting movements before the pair unleashes a coordinated assault. The two can also perform the Purple Comet Attack and Purple Spiral Flash, using their synchronized speed to create confusing attack patterns around a target. Crasher Cannon and Continuous Crasher Cannon allow Burter and Jeice to combine their ki fire, with the latter producing a sustained barrage of energy blasts.

Burter is capable of Flight through ki control and can sense and respond to combatants moving at speeds far beyond ordinary soldiers. He performs his portion of the Ginyu Force’s Special Fighting Pose during the team’s formal introduction and wears standard reinforced Frieza Force battle armor marked for the Ginyu Force. His scouter provides communications while allowing him to locate distant targets and measure battle power. Burter normally carries no conventional weapon because his speed, physical strength, and ki attacks provide everything he requires in combat.
