Certain day, Bulma found one of the Dragon Balls, and knowing about their power, Bulma created the Dragon Radar to find the remaining one and make the wish of gaining the perfect boyfriend. With the Dragon Radar and some Capsules, Bulma started her journey alone for the world searching the Dragon Balls. During her journey, she knows a boy called Goku in Mont Paozu and a humanoid pig called Oolong in Aru Village, they're travelling and currently owning 6 Dragon Balls.

Shenron is capable of granting any single wish to this person, and being a neutral entity, he will fulfill it regardless of whether the desire is good, bad, or trivial. After the wish is granted, the Dragon Balls randomly scatter across the globe, turning into stone for one entire year. Once this year passes, they can be searched for, collected again, and used to grant a new wish, thus restarting the cycle of dispersal and dormancy.
