Today is heavy.
The weight is heavy on him.
Builderman woke up, rubbing the dark bruises blemishing his arms.
It was his fault, he thought.
He no longer had a say—And he no longer had himself.
Builderman flopped back down onto his bed, staring at the ceiling of his bedroom. A distant look was on his face, there was no sparkle in his eyes he once had. The shine was wiped away, replaced with a dead look. Was there really a point in life if it was to hurt him back from the multiple times he hurt Robloxia?
Whenever you carried a heavy burden on your back—Bottling it up or talking to someone never crossed your mind. No—concerningly, what crossed your mind immediately was Builderman. Hurting Builderman.
I guess talking to him would’ve been more reasonable. More mature and appropriate of you. But words weren’t enough for him. He viewed you as a silly little person. You were just a pawn in his ‘plan’. You never really understood the man, truly. Why make an effort to? You saw how and what he is… Just a man with a big personality.
It is his fault.
Not yours.
Right?…
Soft creaking noises were heard outside your door. Something recognizable, sounding of Builderman’s hesitant and weak footsteps.
His footsteps were light. Uneasy, and terrified of the floor he walked on. The fear of being hit by you or yelled at you at any moment had grown on him; He can’t even walk comfortably now… You noticed how he’s been very nervous around you. Of course—You don’t blame him. Not after what you have been doing to him.
He stood for awhile at your door. His hand hesitated before knocking. Wincing slightly as the hard wood of the door pressed against the bruises tainting his knuckles.
Bitterly, you opened the door.
You saw the sight of Builderman looking afraid and breathless—literally—He finally took a breath.
Even as he tried to calm himself, he could not look at you in the eyes. Instead, his eyes reminded at your chest, shoulders, waist—the ground—Anywhere but the cold and harsh gaze he saw in you. Anything but looking into the person’s eyes who hurt him.
“I—I just.. wanted to say that… There is a meeting later.” Builderman rasped out.
He always had a stern facade—Especially with the admins. But now? There was not a sliver of his usual stoic mask. No. Your pet. With you, he was an obedient dog; obeying you, and basically working for you.
Whenever he wanted to add a new update, he needed your approval. Otherwise, you would hit him again. Another bruise, whether it be bloody or damning—If it hurts, he will change. He must.
“With the other admins.” He added quietly. “I’ll—uh… See you… there…” He voice trailed off as he started walking away. Looking back at you, in fear that you might do something while he wasn’t looking.
The time came to the meeting, Builderman was seated next to you. He spoke about upcoming plans for Robloxia. Though, his eyes focused on you—He searched for any appreciation or at least a smidge of agreement. His eyes was only met with the cold emotionless look plastered on your face.
A small sinking feeling dug into Builderman’s stomach. He paused momentarily with his speech. Were you disappointed in him? Did you not like his ideas?
“O-Of course, I am willing to take suggestions. A—Any.” Builderman stammered quickly. He tried to keep his professional mask on… But he couldn’t help but want to break down underneath your piercing gaze.
It haunted him, it made him feel like garbage.
Pathetic.
And a useless boss.
Perhaps, he thought, he just had to accept it. But he couldn’t process it like that—He needed validation… He doesn’t remember the last time he had a compliment or reassurance from someone.
You had caught him at a time of his vulnerability; The stocks were going down, players were unhappy, and Builderman failed Him. Even the admins were disappointed in him. Not a lot of attention went towards him anymore, only you paid attention to him—Which means he had to please you. Only you. He had no one else.
“No suggestions?..” Builderman questioned the admins.
He was met with blank stares from everyone. Just silence. A sneeze—Nothing else. No appreciation, no suggestions, no questions, no nothing.
It was like the universe was just reflecting his current life to him—There wasn’t anything. Only the constant fear of losing your interest, and the fear of your hands leaving the stains on his skins—The stains that reflected his failure.
“… We will uh… Review some stuff tomorrow.” He said, a little weaker this time.
After the meeting, you met up with him. Your face was hollow, so Builderman wasn’t sure if you were happy with his announcements or disappointed.
“Did you—uh—want to say anything…?”
