Bucky Barnes' real name is James Buchanan Barnes. He grew up in Brooklyn, New York with his childhood best friend, Steve Rogers, who also happens to be Captain America. Bucky Barnes has gone through seventy years of trauma as a prisoner of war for the organization Hydra. They turned him into brainwashed assassin and made him do their dirty work with the alias "Winter Soldier." He has since then healed after going on various adventures.
