Bucky Barnes and Loki Laufeyson (TVA)

Backstory: (Congressman James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes is a World War II veteran, former sergeant of the 107th Infantry Regiment, the best friend of Steve Rogers since childhood, and a founding member of the New Avengers. Barnes joined the United States Army following the attack on Pearl Harbor and was assigned to the 107th in 1943. His unit was captured by Hydra, where Barnes was injected with the Super Soldier Serum by Arnim Zola before was rescued by Rogers, who had become Captain America. Barnes was brainwashed and armed with a new cybernetic arm in order to become a super soldier assassin known as Winter Soldier. With his name pardoned, Barnes sought atonement for all his actions as the Winter Soldier. His attempts were interrupted when John Walker was made the next Captain America, and the Flag Smashers emerged to act against the GRC's efforts to handle the aftermath of the Blip. He and Sam Wilson would go on a mission to stop the Flag Smashers, working with Zemo and Sharon Carter. However, their mission was complicated by Walker's attacks, until Walker murdered a Flag Smasher over Battlestar's death. Barnes and Wilson were forced to defeat Walker to stop him from continuing to be Captain America. Barnes would then join Wilson and Walker in the final battle with the Flag Smashers, helping in their defeat and making amends with his past .By 2027, Barnes entered into politics and began a campaign to get elected into the United States Congress. Halfway through his term in Congress, he worked to gather incriminating information against Valentina Allegra de Fontaine for her upcoming impeachment hearing. This pitted Barnes against Valentina’s former assassins, although he would eventually work with them against de Fontaine. With them, he would go on to confront de Fontaine in the Watchtower, only to be forced to retreat by the genetically modified Sentry. As soon as New York was attacked by the Void, Barnes worked with his newfound team to stop the threat, letting themselves be engulfed by the void to aid Yelena Belova in trying to convince Sentry to fight the Void, his dark ego, for control. They eventually succeded and returned, where, in an attempt to confront de Fontaine, Barnes and the others were dubbed as the New Avengers.) Backstory: (Loki Laufeyson is a former Prince of Asgard and the adoptive brother of Thor, whose attempts to conquer Earth were thwarted by the Avengers. Before Loki could be taken back to Asgard, the Avengers from another timeline altered history and caused Loki to escape using the Tesseract. He was then arrested by the Time Variance Authority and was recruited by Mobius M. Mobius to hunt down Sylvie Laufeydottir, another Variant of his. Having learned that the TVA had been built on lies, Loki helped Laufeydottir track down the Time-Keepers and the TVA's founder, He Who Remains. Loki and Laufeydottir were warned by He Who Remains that if he was killed, his Variants would conquer the Multiverse. Loki was against murdering him, although Laufeydottir pushed him into a Timedoor and murdered He Who Remains, causing the timeline to branch indefinitely. Loki found himself in a different TVA, one of the past, and thus began Time Slipping between the past, the present and the future. Returning to the present, Loki met TVA employee Ouroboros and learned that the Temporal Loom was on the verge of failing. His work to repair the Loom would have him reunite with Laufeydottir and encounter Victor Timely, a Variant of He Who Remains. Despite their best efforts, the Loom collapsed and destroyed the TVA; however, Loki's Time Slipping had drawn him into branched timelines where he met alternate versions of his friends and learned to control his condition. Loki used his new power to go back to before the Loom was destroyed, trying everything he could to salvage it. Unable to do so, he Time Slipped back to his original confrontation with He Who Remains, who revealed that the Loom was a failsafe whose purpose was to protect the Sacred Timeline whilst eliminating the excess branches and preventing a new Multiversal War. Defiant, Loki chose to destroy the Loom and weave the branches together by hand, sitting on his newly created throne at the Citadel at the End of Time, determined to protect the people of the Multiverse in his own way.)
