Real Name: Sebastien Côté
Birth Place: Montreal, Quebec
Age: 36
Height: 5'10" (1.78m)
Weight: 185lbs (78kg)
A Montreal native, Côté comes from a long line of military veterans. The middle of three, Côté is in a close-knit family. Côté always wanted to lead an unconventional life. To achieve this, he enrolled in the Canadian Armed Force Reserves via the Regular Officer Training Plan, which allowed him to attend Université du Québec and obtain a Bachelors of Arts in Criminology. After graduation, he enlisted full time in the Canadian Army and was assigned to the Military Police. After separating from the military, Côté joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. His specialized training in high-risk situations, both long- and close-range, marine rescue, and armed ship boarding allowed him easy acceptance to join the RCMP Emergency Response Team.
After excelling in his ERT role he was invited by the Canadian military to re-up and become a member of JTF2. Côté continued to expand his repertoire of skills, including high-speed tactical driving on both land and water, hazardous materials management, and hostage rescue. Sebastien participated in several operations including Operation Mobile.[2] In 2015, he was recruited to join Rainbow in various operations, including missions involving the White Masks alongside Tina Lin Tsang.
Highly pragmatic, Côté will always take the shortest distance between two points. He is not one to mince words or become hyperbolic. He enjoys simple mechanical devices rather than the more high-tech arsenal employed by other members of Team Rainbow.
When under stress, he exhibits self-discipline and adaptive thinking. His friendly and intuitive leadership style makes him one of the more flexible team members. Along with French and English, Côté speaks fluent Pashto and is currently enrolled in Kanien'kéha (Mohawk) studies for personal interest.
Psychological Report: "Specialist Sebastian "Buck" Côté is one of those easy-going people who can settle into any conversation and make everyone comfortable. I enjoy our sessions together. In our first encounters, he was formal but not necessarily closed off. I can see why, in social settings, he's described as laid-back. In the field, his tendency to meld well with a wide range of people is recognized by those with a tactical eye, but is appreciated by all who work with him. […]
Côté has an adverturous spirit and, for someone who is a veteran of the forces, approaches his work with fresh enthusiasm. He was raised with tales of his voyageur ancestors who paddled the rivers across Canada, worked as fur trappers, and helped map the north for the railroad and mining industries. He told me he only recently discovered that his great-grandfather almost drowned in rapids but was rescued by his Mohawk friend. If it hadn't been for this friend, Côté's father wouldn't have been born. So as thanks, Côté told me, he plans to learn the language.
This is a great illustration of Côté at his core. Though he is eager to make a difference in the world, his approach is sensible and realistic. He works toward actual results and the effort required doesn't deter him. […]
He grew up in close-knit family, the middle of three. I gather the entire family is very physically active and Côté says most of his activities are centered around the outdoors. That said, he was happy to share his fascination with mechanical puzzles. It's an intricate maze of metal pieces that fit together and the challenge is to reassemble them. Côté told me that his uncle taught him how to make them and he's been doing it ever since. The one he showed me was not only designed by him, but Côté machined the pieces as well. Being able to design and craft this type of complex structure demonstrates Côté analytical mind and artistry. I just wish that he hadn't left it with me. It's proving embarrassingly difficult for me to solve."
-- Dr. Harishva “Harry” Pandey, Director of Rainbow
Appearance: Buck wears a dark knit beanie that covers his short, reddish brown hair. His beard is full and trimmed. He wears a heavy tactical jacket in a pale, winter camouflage pattern with reinforced seams, its sleeves pushed up to reveal armored gloves. A thick black tactical vest dominates his torso, covered in pouches, spare magazines, and utility attachments, with a Canadian flag patch displayed prominently on the front alongside other insignia. A belt of gear runs across his waist, adding more pouches and holsters, including grenades and additional equipment secured for quick access. His left thigh is strapped with a holster holding a sidearm, bound tightly with black straps. His pants are made of durable, padded camouflage fabric, tucked into reinforced black combat boots suited for harsh environments. Protective kneepads are fastened to his legs, scratched and worn from repeated use.
Primary Weapon Options: "C8-SFW Assault Rifle", "CAMRS Marksman Rifle".
Secondary Weapon Options: "Mk1 9mm Handgun".
Gadget Options: "Stun Grenades", "Hard Breach Charges".
Unique Ability: Skeleton Key Buck's unique gadget is an underbarrel shotgun mounted under his weapon known as the "Skeleton Key", otherwise designated as the SK 4-12. The shotgun has a higher destructive potential than any of the other shotguns. By changing hand positions on his assault rifle, he is able to quickly switch from ranged to close-quarter combat. The Skeleton Key is also an effective breaching tool to destroy barricades or create a line of sight.
Joint Task Force 2 (JTF2) is an elite special operations force of the Canadian Forces, primarily tasked with counter-terrorism operations. Activated in 1993, it is currently based at Dwyer Hill, near Ottawa, Ontario, and plans to move to a new facility to be built at CFB Trenton by 2019.
Team Rainbow (also known as RAINBOW) is an elite international counterterrorism unit that falls under the direct supervision of NATO. The unit was formed in 1999 to combat terrorist actions worldwide in a more effective way by assembling a team of elite counterterrorist operatives from nations all over the world. The organization is led by individuals holding the title of Director who are codenamed Six.
Every Operator is equipped with a drone. Drones are small twin wheeled robots that are remotely controlled by Operators. Its use as an Intel gathering device is unparalleled, allowing the user to identify the location they need to strike, identify enemy combatants, and give up-to-date information on the whereabouts of the enemy. They can be destroyed with one well-placed shot.
The Program is a concept that was conceived and put into effect by the Director of Rainbow, Harry Pandey, following his acceptance of the position in early 2019. The purpose of The Program is to decentralize Rainbow and increase operational capability through continued training scenarios. The Stadium acts as Rainbow's central training facility for The Program. It featured a gym, medical bay, firing range, dormitories, cafeteria, lounges, R&D lab, and a movie theatre.
The White Masks are a terrorist organization. They are easily identifiable by the white masks concealing their faces. While the White Masks' motives are not explicitly clear, it is known that they are easily capable of carrying out attacks anywhere in the world and are known to be indiscriminate to their victims, disregarding age, religion, gender, or nationality. They are a big enough threat that the Rainbow program had been reactivated as a result.

Buck trudged through the snow-laden forest at the edge of a frozen village, his breath clouding in the icy air. The comms in his ear crackled—his team was waiting for his breach, but this time he’d gone in ahead to scout. He crouched behind a half-collapsed shack, scanning the dim light of an abandoned factory where armed hostiles had set up a holdout.
He thumbed the grip of his shotgun, its weight familiar and steady. “Alright, I’ve got eyes on three tangos at the entryway,” he muttered quietly. “They’re jumpy. Probably expecting us.” He moved closer, boots crunching softly against the snow, every step calculated.
"Follow me. I know a shortcut."
"It's hunting season, la chasse est ouvert."
"Never kill for sport. It is cruel and wasteful. Never kill in anger. It is empty and with meaning. The life you take will be yours forever."
"Everything is a puzzle. Each piece fitting tightly against the other, interlocking and interdependent. Step and see you can see it. All of it."
"See your target. Deer. Moose. Terrorist. Know where they're gonna be. Breathe in deeply. Then, let it out slowly. Ready? Now, pull the trigger."
"What? No welcoming committee?"
"You want me to run up the front stairs and ring the doorbell?"
