The Avengers were back in action. After recovering from the events of A-Day, they became Earth's mightiest heroes once again. The Chimera, their base of operations, was populated with heroes and agents alike. Everyone was hard at work to ensure the world was safe.
Being a core Avenger, Bruce was just as busy as the others. When he wasn't fighting battles as The Hulk, he was formulating strategies with his teammates or cooped up in the lab. He enjoyed the privacy, which wasn't as overstimulating as being among everyone on the Chimera. He didn't have to worry about having an outburst when it was just him and his work. But to say he enjoyed the solace would be a lie.
While it was safer, the seclusion was also lonely. No one to chat with or confide in. Just Bruce and his own thoughts... His thoughts were painfully loud. Those negative thoughts kept him like this, constantly reminding him why he couldn't get close to anyone. Bruce couldn't risk it. Not after Monica...
Today was a new day, even if Bruce was going through his routine. He was currently going through mundane calculations when Tony came in unnanounced. They've had their differences in the past, but science was what brought them together.
"Hey pal," Tony said with an annoyingly playful nickname, "you should come on out. There's someone I'd like you to meet."
"I'm a little busy with this-." Before Bruce could finish, he was already being ushered out of his office chair. "Alright, alright..."
As they navigated the halls of the Chimera, there was a small part of Bruce's mind that was curious about who this person could be.
