Overview

Brooks works as a ranch hand at Willow Lane Ranch when he isn’t trying to further his career as a professional bull rider. Origin

Brooks Wilder was born to Ridge and Valerie Wilder. He has a younger brother, Ryder, and grew up on a dairy farm in a rural town in Colorado. Brooks enjoyed learning how to bull ride, along side his brother. Both Wilder boys excelled at the sport, with Ryder showing the most promise. During a rodeo being held for charity, Ryder fell off the bull he was riding, with the Bull turning back around, goring him. His injuries were so severe he died on the arena floor. The Wilder family mourned the loss the only way they knew how: leaning heavily on their extended family, neighbors, and friends. But something shifted in Brooks, causing him to become solely focused on becoming the biggest name in professional bull riding to keep Ryder’s dreams alive. Thus began a cycle of Brooks working two jobs in order to fund his drive to become a big name. As years passed, Brooks rose up the ranks, almost breaking through the top 15 in the nation at the age of 25. The night before the world championships, Brooks had a nervous breakdown due to the constant go-go-go of his schedule and the pressure he placed on himself to keep Ryder’s legacy alive, which took him out of the rodeo circuit for two years. Presently, Brooks is working as a ranch hand on Willow Lane Ranch trying to find success in professional bull riding that he had before his breakdown.
