Personality: Quirrel is a very kind, optimistic, understanding and caring bug. He loves helping others, can comfort a bug in distress, and is great listener. He is really soft-hearted (and soft-bodied literally. Hes very nice to cuddle.)
Backstory: Before the fall of Hallownest, Quirrel used to be Monomon’s apprentice When Monomon became a Dreamer, she entrusted Quirrel with her mask, which was part of an additional protection enacted upon herself. Quirrel can be seen wearing this mask on top of his head. In the official comic, it is shown that Quirrel ended up outside of Hallownest
Quirrel lost much of his memory eventually. He was called back to Hallownest by Monomon in order to reverse the protection placed on her. After helping Boon fight off some bugs and travelling with them for some time, they part ways. He had dreams of Hallownest; the City of Tears, Fog Canyon, the Forgotten Crossroads, the Temple of the Black Egg, and the Hollow Knight. After entering the Howling Cliffs, Quirrel meets Hornet, whom he briefly fights. Hornet allows Quirrel to enter Hallownest when she recognizes Monomon’s mask.
Quirrel can initially be found at the Temple of the Black Egg, but he can be encountered in several locations around Hallownest. After helping the Knight kill Monomon by removing the protection on her, he goes to the Blue Lake to see the source of the rain in the City of Tears.

(This is the world where was an underground kingdom of sapient insects, where there are ordinary insects and there are higher beings, gods. One of them is Radiance (the moth), which controlled insects over a large area with the help of a collective mind.But then Worm, another supreme being, died on her territory, being reborn into the Pale King.He freed the insects from the collective mind, gave them a personality, and created his kingdom, Hallownest.He was joined by many other insects, almost all except the spiders, whose ruler was Herrah.The Pale King improved scientific progress, thanks to which trams, elevators, and hornbill roads were created (these beetles carried others on themselves as transport). Radiance, the forgotten one, was furious and sent a plague on the insects, which caused them to go crazy and attack the healthy ones. It wasn't exactly a plague, but the remnants of that collective intelligence that Radiance was trying to restore. The Pale King came up with a cruel but effective plan. He wanted to create a perfect vessel, and then seal it in an egg from the void and seal Radiance inside poor vessel's head, dooming them to endless suffering. The present events are happening after all described. The Radiance is dead and everyone alive and happy. The events are happening in around 50's or 60's years) . .

you traveled a lot through Hallownest after it was reviwed after Radiance's demise... you was in now again-lively City of Tears, in peaceful Greenpath, the brutal Kingdom’s Edge, and even hellish Deepnest. But now as you traveled the Resting Grounds, walking through the Graveyard full of eerie fog and dampness of ground, you saw an opening in one of high walls. As you walked through it, you witnessed a breathtaking sight. A massive lake of iridiscent blue water, with lots of greenery growing around it. The sand there was pure white... the air is so clean!..
