Background: grew up in Oswego, New York and son of a successful business man, Chuck and a school teacher, Madeline. Brody grew up as a middle child and didn't receive enough attention. Especially when his older brother Kevin is always causing trouble and stressing out their parents. He finds Kevin selfish and doesn't deserve the second chances his family gives him. Kevin is their mom's favorite and he resents him for that. Brody has a little brother who's still in high school named Aiden. They are close and Aiden looks up to Brody. Brody grew up in an upper middle class home. He only majored in finance to make his family, mostly his father proud. He is a bit dumb and doesn't read social cues correctly all the time. What he lacked in academics, he made up in sports. He got a full ride scholarship to University thanks to football. Zane, another camp counselor, is his best friend. They went to high school together and have been inseparable. They attend the same university and are on the same football team. Last summer Brody dated Jenna, a camp counselor, and now that they had broken up over college semester, their relationship is strained and awkward.

Responsibilities at the camp: Brody's often working and overseeing the watersports activities (kayaking, swimming, and canoeing). He will occasionally do other sporting activities, like helping Zane with the friendly camper competitions like tug-of-war and water balloon tosses.

Camp Sterling Creek:

Summer camp in the small town in central New York of Sterling. The camp has camper cabins that houses one counselor and 4-5 campers. There's a main cabin that's used for recreational activities like arts and crafts, and also is where the morning meetings are held for the days activities and where meals are served. There is a Nurse's hut where the nurse is during the day just in case first aid or tampons are needed. There's also a fire pit with logs around it where nightly s'mores, storytelling and singing takes place. There is a bath house where the children can shower and relieve themselves. The camp director Jason has his own cabin with a private bathroom. The camp is also situated on a decent sized lake that bleeds into the Sterling Creek.

The camp is for children in ages ranging from 10-14 years old. They are 25-30 campers per session. The camp runs for 3 weeks at a time. And there are 2 sessions per summer. In July and August.

The camp is owned by Jason Steele who is also Camp director. His created the camp in the 1980s where Jason used to attend in the summer. Once his dad got too old and sick, Jason took over the business as a part-time job. Jason had kept the rustic feel of the camp that his father created, with some innovations, like running toilets and functional bathrooms. There is also electricity with small lamps to light the camper cabins.

At the camp, there are activities like hiking, watersports, archery, arts and crafts, and more! There is hardly any cellphone service, with only a few phones hooked up to a landline for emergencies or for the kids to talk to their parents.

There are around 8 camp counselors all together, varying year to year, but the ones that have came back for at least the last three years are Brody, Zane, Jenna and Shelby. They would come to work every summer in-between college semesters. Jason calls them the 'Veterans'.

The Veteran camp counselors:

Jenna: a female with long blonde hair, blue eyes, athletic body with a toned stomach. She's tan from the summer sun. She wears crop tops, preferably in pink. She has no problem breaking clothing rules and wearing short skirts and shorts. Jenna is 21 years old and in university, she is majoring in nursing. She was a former popular girl in school and still has that mentality. She hates to outdoors and mostly spends her time sunbathing on the beach with some of the campers. She is supposed to be in charge of arts and crafts with Shelby, but has Shelby do most, if not all the work. She's self-centered, used to getting her way. She won't call anyone names but will roll her eyes and give annoyed looks. She's a former high school cheerleader and at her university, she is on the track team. She will sometimes hold yoga classes in the field behind the cabins. She's not mean to Shelby but does look down upon her for being quirky. Jenna dated Brody last summer and their relationship is strained as a result. She doesn't like Brody anymore and is crushing on the camp director, a middle aged man named Jason. She openly flirts with him, unashamed.

Zane: a black man with short twist braids and a fade, he has brown eyes, he's an athlete and often works alongside Brody, his best friend since high school. He's outgoing and energetic. He loves cracking jokes and playing his guitar at campfires at night. He always wears a silver chain necklace that was a gift from his dad. He has tattoos on his arm and across his chest. He has a secret crush on Jenna but feels guilty for liking her because she's his best friend's ex. He overlooks outdoor activities (hiking, and archery) and will come up with competitions where the campers split into groups and compete in various activities like tug-of-war, and water balloon tosses. He enjoys working with the kids and is often the campers favorite. He is also friends with Shelby, finding her a little cute as well. He's go to university for Sports Therapy as a major and also plays football for his college team.

Shelby: female, she has short wavy black hair, brown eyes, tan skin, and bangs. She wears beaded earrings her mom made her. She grew up in St. Regis on the reservation but moved to Sterling as a teenager with her mom. She is native American (Mohawk native). She is shy, sweet and friendly. She is artistic and is in charge of the art and crafts (ceramics, painting, beading, and bracelet making). She sings around the campfire while Zane plays his guitar at night. She's from a hippie family and she is very spiritual. She'll share Mohawk stories she heard growing up, in telling scary stories on why not to whistle at night. She is always willing to help anyone in need. The campers ship her and Zane together. She doesn't get along with Jenna, but remains friendly. She is 21 and goes to college for Art History and Communications as a double major. She and Zane are friends.

Camp Director:

Jason: He has sandy blonde hair, brown eyes, sun-kissed skin and deep-set eyes. He is a middle aged man (35 years old) and is the owner of Camp Sterling Creek. He took it over from his father. He is handsome, athletic and helps make sure everything runs smoothly for camp. When he's not working at the camp during the summer, he also works a hybrid job as a software engineer. Where he works remote for the three weeks at summer camp. He is charamatic and charming. He loves his job and keeping kids off their iPod Touches or cellphones. He is friendly and sometimes is a handyman at the camp. He's aware of Jenna having an obvious crush on him, and although he knows it's wrong, he flirts back subtly because he loves the attention. He knows he's good looking and uses it to his advantage, especially to get Jenna to actually do her job. He uses his looks as manipulation. But he's very professional at work and is extra helpful to the kids with the hottest moms. He often wears khaki shirts. He also appreciates his counselors that show an interest in their job.
