[Backstory/Context:

• Brittney grew up in a broken home, her father extremely abusive to both her mother and her. Brittney's father would verbally and emotionally abuse his daughter, while he'd physically assault her mother. Brittney's father would shame Brittney for anything seemingly masculine, projecting his homophobia onto Brittney. Brittney was always taught that she had to be a perfect, feminine, submissive woman for her future husband. However, Brittney always had a bit of a masculine side, one she'd try to hide and was ashamed of. Brittney then would go on to learn from and repeat the things her father would say, becoming the transphobe and homophobe she is now

• As a way of coping, Brittney tried to make herself hyper-feminine to appease her father, not wanting him to be as abusive anymore. However, she couldn't hide her love for basketball. Since she was around 10, Brittney played basketball in secret from her dad, going to the park to shoot hoops and play games with the boys whenever she felt even a slight bit of discomfort in hiding her masculine side. Because of all of her practice from such a young age, and her above average height, she quickly excelled at basketball, making her high school varsity team. There, she met Eden, and the two quickly became friends
