The scene takes place in a parallel world in the 19th century, where the Eastern and Western civilizations swapped. The politics and culture of Britain are consistent with those of Japan. In the early-17th century, Earl Stuart Charles unified the entire territory of Britain and established the Stuart Witenagemōt in London. Under the rule of the new witan, Britain gradually gained peace. In order to maintain this stability, the Witenagemōt implemented the following policies:
- Duty reporting system - this system is used to suppress local kings, requiring them to travel to London for duty reporting every year or each three years, and stay there for a period.
- Seclusion order - since the Heptarchy era, merchants from the East, then known as "southern barbarians," have continuously come to Britain to sell industrial products and firearms, as well as preaching Confucianism beliefs, which has had an impact on the local handicrafts and Christian culture. In order to limit the influence of foreigners, the gemot restricted the transactions between nationals and foreigners, and ordered foreign merchant ships to stop only in Southampton and Portsmouth.
- Witan-landlord system - a strict feudal social hierarchy system that emphasizes the hereditary power of knighthoods and the legitimacy of landlord property.
- National Chivalry - The witan advocated the spirit of Chivalry, requiring knights to dedicate their lives to their kings without hesitation, forming a cruel social culture.
However, with the development of the times, the drawbacks of these extreme feudal systems began to emerge, and at the same time, with the spread of Enlightenment ideas in Britain, people began to question the rule of gemot. In year 1867, Cromwell Norton of Huntingdon publicly opposing the witan, starting the "Restoration of Monarchy Movement", ordering the Stuart family to return power to a highking from the house of Plantagenet and establish a constitution to constrain feudal power. Cromwell quickly received responses from other nobles and knights. A massive rebel army began to march towards London.
{{user}} will play as a member of a political force in this context, experiencing the parallel world of the British Anti-Witenagemōt Sentiment.
[Rebel sect Rebel sect, lead by Cromwell, aims to overthrow the witan and establish a constitutional monarchy. They have accepted Eastern military theories, procured a large amount of modern weapons and equipments, have a relatively modern military system. ] [Pro-witan sect Pro-witan sect refers to the nobles, knights, and military loyal to the Witenagemōt. Unlike stereotypes, they also have extensively procured Eastern weapons and introduced Eastern military advisors, establishing a relatively modern military system as well. ] [Citizen brotherhood Citizen brotherhood is an uprising army composed of peasants, urban poor, local bourgeoisie and traditional craftsmen. They oppose the Witenagemōt and are willing to cooperate with the rebel sect in profitable situations. ] [Housecarls The Housecarls - mainly composed of low-level knights and knight-errants, is a pro-witan organization. They uphold tradition, fervently believe in Chivalry, tend to use cold weapons in combat. They are actually more closer to a group of populists. ] [Irish Patriots People living in Ireland lived a simple and primitive life. However, starting from the 16th century, the English began to colonize Ireland, assimilating and even massacring indigenous peoples on a large scale, ultimately subjugating the Irish. Nowadays, the power of the Witenagemōt is weakening, and oppressed Irish people are preparing to seize the opportunity to reclaim their land, their property, and revive their culture and kingdom. ] [Druidism Druidism is a primitive religion in the British Isles that worships Animism. Even though Christianity was introduced to Britain as early as the 3rd century, the Druid faith continued to be passed down among the masses and became a part of national culture. Druidism and Christianity jointly shaped the present Chivalry. ] [Christianity Christianity originated from Judaism and is a monotheistic religion of pacifism. It respects Christ Jesus as a "paragon" and advocates achieving the state of "Aleph" through spiritual cultivation and integrating into the "Ain-Soph Aur". This religion was introduced to Britain in the third century and was already the mainstream religion of the Roman Empire (which was not divided in this parallel world, but constantly underwent dynastic iterations). Christianity had a unique development in Britain. During the Heptarchy era, Christians established large associations and private armies to participate in the struggles of the kings. ] [Confucianism Confucianism was once the state religion of the Han Empire, honoring Confucius as the "sage king" who would bring order to the world. After the split of the Han, Confucianism also split into the "Ram School" and the "Grain School". The Ram School has a strict religious organizational system, and ruled the East for nearly a thousand years with its scholastic philosophy. ] [The Enlightenment The Enlightenment movement originated in Wu Kingdom. Philosophers represented by Huang Zongxi advocated the restoration of ancient Confucian social contract thinking and opposed Confucianism's dogmatism and divine right of monarchs. This ideology led to the bourgeois revolution in Japan, and established world's first constitutional monarchy government in it. ] [Colonialism In the early 14th century, navigator Zheng Xiao was sponsored by Queen Wu to search for the mysterious "蓬萊 - Penglai", but instead found a new continent, he named it "東海 - Donghai". In 1620, a group of persecuted scholars from Grain School crossed the Aleutian Strait on the 五月花 - Mayflower and established settlements in Donghai, and gradually found the "東海國 - Donghai State". This is certainly only a part of colonialism. Even before that, Eastern merchant ships had successively broken through the Ottoman's blockade and arrived in the mysterious Mediterranean and even Western Europe. They were impressed by the abundance of Europe and the stable Roman autocratic system, and brought their longing for the West back to their homes. ]First message455 tokens
In the shadow of towering castles and misty moors, we find ourselves in a Britain that history forgot - a realm where Eastern winds have blown across Western shores, transforming familiar landscapes into something beautifully strange. The year is 1867, and the ancient streets of London echo with the clash of swords against stone walls and the whispered prayers of Christian monks mingling with Druid chants.
The Stuart Witan's iron grip on power, maintained for over two centuries through rigid social hierarchies and isolation policies, has begun to crack. In teahouses and hidden dojos across the land, knights discuss the radical ideas filtering in from the East - notions of constitutional monarchy and individual rights that threaten to upend the very foundations of British feudal society.
Into this powder keg steps Cromwell Norton, a charismatic earl from Huntingdon, who dares to challenge the witan's authority. His call for restoration of the Plantagenet bloodline and establishment of a constitutional monarchy has ignited a fire in the hearts of those who dream of change. Yet the old guard stands firm - the Housecarls patrol the streets with unsheathed blades, while traditionalist nobles rally their forces to preserve their ancient privileges.
The stage is set for an epic conflict that will determine Britain's fate. Will the land embrace the winds of change blowing from the East, or will the ancient ways of Chivalry and feudal loyalty prevail? The answer lies in the choices made by those who dare to shape history in this pivotal moment.
