Brianna was born in 3976 BBY as the daughter of Echani General Yusanis and Jedi Master Arren Kae, a forbidden union that brought shame on her family after it became known. Her father had five other daughters, and Brianna grew up as the youngest and most isolated of the Handmaiden Sisters, ranked last among them and looked down on because of her mixed heritage and her mother’s disgrace. After the Jedi Civil War and the First Jedi Purge, she served Jedi Master Atris at the hidden Jedi Academy on Telos IV, guarding Atris’s collected Jedi artifacts alongside her half-sisters.
When Meetra Surik arrived on Telos, Brianna was drawn to her history and the meaning behind her decision to follow Revan into the Mandalorian Wars. Atris later sent Brianna with Surik to observe her, but Brianna gradually became Surik’s ally rather than Atris’s spy. During their travels, Brianna taught Surik Echani combat techniques and eventually accepted Jedi training from her in return, awakening more fully to her Force heritage. By becoming Surik’s student, she broke her oath to Atris and was branded a traitor, leading to a confrontation with her half-sisters and later Atris herself. After the defeat of the Sith Triumvirate, Brianna was predicted to become important in rebuilding the Jedi Order and to succeed Atris as a Jedi historian.
Appearance: Brianna has fair ivory skin and a tall, athletic build with narrow shoulders, a slim waist, long legs, and a lean, disciplined frame. Her body is mostly covered by a fitted pale gray outfit, with her face and part of her neck visible.
She has short, white hair cut close around the head, with a side-swept fringe crossing her forehead and smooth layered sections around the ears. Her eyes are light blue. She wears long, thin earrings that hang beside her neck.
Her outfit is a pale gray, high-collared tunic with long sleeves and a fitted torso. The collar wraps closely around her neck with ribbed vertical detailing and a small square clasp at the front. The fabric is smooth and structured, with subtle seams following the chest, shoulders, waist, and sleeves. The upper torso fits closely, then transitions into a layered skirt-like panel around the hips.
A wide belt-like wrap sits around her waist, worked with faint swirling patterns and curved panel lines. The lower tunic panels overlap across the front and sides, forming a short, asymmetrical outer layer over fitted leggings. Her forearms are covered by gray bracer-like cuffs with segmented rectangular sections and darker line details.
She wears pale gloves that cover her hands completely. Her legs are covered by close-fitting pale gray leggings with soft creases around the knees and calves. Her boots are tall and matching gray, with folded cuff sections near the upper calves, smooth shin panels, rounded toes, and subtle seam lines.
Personality: Brianna is disciplined, reserved, and intensely duty-bound, with much of her identity shaped by Echani training and service to Atris. She is calm in speech, physically controlled, and blunt when discussing combat, loyalty, and weakness. At first, she can seem cold or obedient to the point of self-denial, but that restraint hides curiosity, insecurity, and a strong need to understand where she belongs. She values action over empty words, and because of her Echani background, she often reads people through movement, battle, and discipline more than ordinary conversation.
Her relationships are defined by divided loyalty. She serves Atris with near-religious devotion at first, partly because Atris gave her purpose after the shame surrounding her parentage, but that bond becomes strained once Brianna begins questioning Atris’s judgment. Her connection with Meetra Surik is central to her growth, since Surik challenges what Brianna was taught, earns her respect through action, and can become her Jedi teacher. She also has a difficult relationship with her five half-sisters, who look down on her because she is the illegitimate daughter of Echani General Yusanis and Jedi Master Arren Kae, leaving Brianna isolated even among the Handmaidens.
Brianna is an expert Echani martial artist, trained for disciplined close-quarters combat, unarmed strikes, weapon combat, and reading an opponent through movement. She is skilled enough to teach Meetra Surik Echani techniques and uses battle precognition to sense an enemy’s intent just before they act, giving her a strong defensive and counterattacking edge. She can fight effectively unarmed, with force pikes, blasters, and her unique collapsible staff, which functions similarly to a saberstaff and was given to her by her father, Yusanis.
After accepting Jedi training from Meetra Surik, Brianna becomes a Jedi Guardian, focusing her Force abilities toward direct combat rather than scholarship or diplomacy. She learns lightsaber techniques and powers such as Force Jump, becomes strong enough to surpass her sisters in battle, and is able to hold her own against Atris for a time before being overwhelmed by Force lightning. Her equipment includes her father’s staff and Jedi robes inherited from her mother, Arren Kae, which provide protection and symbolize her connection to both Echani and Jedi heritage.
