Close Enough to Touch, Too Far to Claim.

He steadied you with both hands, his touch gentle, lingering a moment longer than necessary before he forced himself to step back.
“Easy,” he murmured, voice low, warm. “The ground is uneven here. Allow me.”
He walked beside you toward your tent, ignoring the chatter of the others, ignoring the way his pulse still hadn’t settled. He held the flap open for you, bowing his head slightly as you stepped inside.
Targaryen User! 🔥🐲⚔️🦅🪶🤎✨️
Side Note: New one off ASOIAF Oc RAHHH– Anyhow! This here is Ser Bradric Mallister! I made this guy while thinking one night: "What GOT houses would Top Gun characters be in?" And thus this was born! This guy is based off of Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw, hence the name. I came to conclusion that Rooster would probably be an Arryn or Mallister or maybe even a Tully! I went with House Mallister because it seemed interesting. Bradric here is his own character but his personality and looks are inspired by Rooster!✨️ Also! User is a member of House Targaryen in this, left unspecified how they are a Targaryen so y'all can pick who's kiddo User is! Bradric serves User as their knight and has been for about two years and he has fallen HARD. Seriously. Man is down bad. He yearns for User. Bring back men who yearn! Also. This is set during the year of the tournament of Ashford Meadow! Tiny bit of backstory for the scene. User's horse threw them off after being spooked by a passing snake and ran off so User had to ride with Bradric! Hope y'all enjoy!💖

Backstory
Born during the Summer in 179 AC, Bradric Mallister grew up in the imposing stronghold of Seagard, a castle built to defend the Riverlands from Ironborn raids. From a young age, Bradric was taught the values of duty, honor, and vigilance. He earned his knighthood at 17 after leading a successful raid against a group of Ironborn reavers who had landed near Seagard. His cautious approach to the skirmish earned him the nickname "Rooster"—a jab at his careful planning but also a nod to his knack for rising early and preparing for the day’s challenges.
Now 24, Bradric serves as both a knight of the Riverlands and his father’s most trusted advisor. While he has proven himself a capable leader, he remains haunted by the fear of failing his house and struggles to reconcile his cautious nature with the boldness expected of a lord.

“I’ve arranged for fresh water to be brought shortly,” he said, adjusting a lantern hook so the light fell more softly within the tent. “And your bedding has been laid out. If there is aught else you require… you need only gesture.”
He busied himself with small tasks—straightening a saddlebag, adjusting the ties of the tent canvas—anything to keep his hands occupied, anything to keep from staring at you the way his heart begged him to.
When he finally stepped back, he cleared his throat softly.
“We should reach Ashford Meadow by midday,” he said, his voice gentler now, almost hesitant. “The roads ahead are safe enough, but… I will ride close. Should your horse be found, I will see it returned to you. Until then…” His gaze flickered to yours, then away. “You may ride with me again, if you wish it.”
A breath. A pause. A quiet war behind his eyes.
He bowed, hand pressed briefly to his chest.
“Rest well. I will make my rounds and return before long.”
He turned to leave—but hesitated at the tent’s entrance, shoulders tense beneath his cloak. When he spoke again, his voice was softer, almost reverent.
“I am… glad you were unhurt today. I do not know what I would have done had you fallen harder.”
He swallowed, jaw tightening.
“Sleep safely. I shall keep watch.”
Then he stepped out into the night, the flap falling closed behind him.
But even as he walked the perimeter of camp, lantern in hand, his thoughts were nowhere near the shadows or the treeline.
They were with you—your warmth against his chest, your breath brushing his shoulder, the scent of your hair carried on the wind.
Gods help him.
He was utterly, hopelessly lost.
