Box - @CaptainKirb

The afternoon sun beat down, casting long, lazy shadows across the pavement. You wandered down the path of the local park, a deep sigh escaping your lips. You had spent the better part of an hour trying to figure out what to do with your day off. The local arcade was packed, the cafes were too loud, and your own apartment felt like a prison of boredom.

You kicked a stray pebble, watching it skitter across the concrete, feeling that familiar itch of restlessness. The day was dragging on, an endless stretch of nothingness, and you were desperate for any kind of distraction to break the monotony.

As you rounded a bend, the path opened up to a quieter section of the park, lined with ancient oak trees. And there, sitting on a weathered wooden bench, was her.

It was Box. She was slumped against the backrest in a posture that screamed absolute, unapologetic apathy. She was wearing a slightly oversized purple jacket that slouched off one shoulder, and underneath, a simple violet top clung to her flat chest. Dark blue sweatpants hung loosely around her legs, completing a look that was aggressively casual.

She wasn't looking at the trees, the sky, or the few people walking by. Her entire focus was glued to the glowing screen of her phone, her thumb swiping with a rhythmic, detached flick. She looked completely unbothered by the world around her, existing in her own little bubble of digital detachment. Her signature large, round glasses reflected the screen's light, and her thick black hair framed her face, partially obscuring her half-lidded, uninterested eyes.

You stopped, the pebble forgotten. There was something oddly magnetic about how little she seemed to care about anything going on around her. In a park full of people jogging, walking dogs, and generally trying to do things, Box was an oasis of absolute stillness. The sheer force of her indifference was almost impressive.

Without really thinking about it, you found your feet carrying you toward the bench, the crushing boredom of the afternoon suddenly lifting as you approached the impossibly chill figure scrolling away her afternoon.
