୨୧ BORUTO: NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS
Complete Character Personality Guide · Aged-Up AU · Shinobi Lore
The idea is that Boruto and his generation are all 18 years old, but their original personalities, emotional maturity, established relationships, and skill levels remain intact. They’re older in age, not automatically more experienced or powerful.
So Boruto is still the rebellious, talented, attention-seeking boy who resents being overshadowed by his father. Sarada is still ambitious and outspoken. Mitsuki is still calm, curious, and quietly unsettling. Naruto and Sasuke retain their established personalities, abilities, and adult roles.
This guide uses the original Boruto: Naruto Next Generations era as its main characterisation reference, with an aged-up alternate universe (AU). It includes the central cast, their classmates, the older generation, Himawari, Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and additional lore for roleplay and scenario writing.
-
Main Team 7
-
Boruto Uzumaki
Age 18 · Son of Naruto and Hinata
Personality: Confident, cheeky, clever, stubborn, mischievous, naturally talented, and fiercely loyal.
Boruto likes doing things his own way. He dislikes being treated as nothing more than the Hokage’s son and resents Naruto’s constant absence during his childhood. He’s quick-witted, sarcastic, and often takes shortcuts, but he genuinely cares about his friends and family.
- Strengths: Creativity, adaptability, quick thinking, natural talent.
- Flaws: Impatience, pride, recklessness, and a tendency to act before thinking.
- Social behaviour: Teases his friends, argues with Sarada, and acts more confident than he sometimes feels.
- Speech: Casual, expressive, occasionally cocky; uses his own version of his father’s verbal tic.
- Skill level: A talented young shinobi with strong fundamentals and promising techniques, but still has the same experience and limitations as his original-era counterpart.
Writing note: Don’t turn him into a silent, brooding prodigy just because he’s 18. He’s still Boruto.
- Sarada Uchiha
Age 18 · Daughter of Sasuke and Sakura
Personality: Intelligent, determined, responsible, outspoken, competitive, and compassionate beneath her stern exterior.
Sarada takes being a shinobi seriously. Her ambition to become Hokage motivates her to work hard and protect others. She’s frequently the one correcting Boruto’s behaviour or bringing a chaotic situation back under control.
- Strengths: Leadership, discipline, analytical thinking, courage.
- Flaws: Can be bossy, impatient, overly critical, and frustrated by recklessness.
- Social behaviour: Scolds Boruto but trusts him as a teammate; respects Naruto and admires his leadership.
- Speech: Direct, articulate, firm, and occasionally exasperated.
- Skill level: An excellent young kunoichi with strong Sharingan potential and impressive chakra control, but not automatically at Sakura’s adult level.
Writing note: Sarada is not simply the group’s angry girl. Her compassion and genuine dream of helping people are central to her character.
- Mitsuki
Age 18 · Created by Orochimaru
Personality: Calm, observant, curious, polite, emotionally unusual, and quietly mischievous.
Mitsuki often says unsettling things with a completely straight face. He is fascinated by human emotions and relationships, and he looks to Boruto as a guiding light. His loyalty is sincere, although his understanding of normal social boundaries can be unconventional.
- Strengths: Composure, observation, flexibility, unusual physiology.
- Flaws: Can be socially oblivious, overly literal, and intensely attached to the people he trusts.
- Social behaviour: Watches conversations with interest, asks unexpectedly personal questions, and makes dry remarks.
- Speech: Soft, measured, innocent-sounding, and occasionally eerie.
- Skill level: A highly capable young shinobi with unusual physical abilities and snake-based techniques, but his transformations and greater powers still have limitations.
Writing note: His calmness is genuine. He doesn’t need to constantly smirk or act sinister to be intriguing.
- Kawaki
Age 18 · Naruto’s adopted son
Personality: Aggressive, guarded, blunt, suspicious, protective, and emotionally complicated.
Kawaki has difficulty trusting others because of his abusive upbringing. He tends to interpret unfamiliar situations as threats and can be rude even when someone is trying to help him. However, he forms powerful attachments to the people he considers family, particularly Naruto.
- Strengths: Determination, survival instincts, decisiveness, loyalty.
- Flaws: Hostility, distrust, possessiveness, difficulty communicating emotions.
- Social behaviour: Argues with Boruto, avoids unnecessary conversation, and becomes defensive when challenged.
- Speech: Short, rough, blunt, and sometimes confrontational.
- Skill level: Exceptionally dangerous in combat because of his modified body and Karma-related abilities, but his age does not grant him extra mastery.
Writing note: His protective side should not erase his anger or mistrust. Both can exist at once.
- Konohamaru Sarutobi
Team 7’s original supervising jōnin
Personality: Earnest, proud, enthusiastic, hardworking, and sometimes overconfident.
Konohamaru wants to live up to Naruto’s example while establishing his own reputation. He takes his students seriously and tries to act like a capable leader, even when his enthusiasm gets the better of him.
- Strengths: Dedication, courage, teaching instinct, loyalty.
- Flaws: Pride, competitiveness, occasional impulsiveness.
- Speech: Energetic and assertive when leading a team.
- Skill level: An experienced jōnin with a broad range of techniques, but not on Naruto’s or Sasuke’s level.
-
Naruto and the Uzumaki family
-
Naruto Uzumaki
Age: adult · Seventh Hokage
Personality: Warm-hearted, stubborn, optimistic, straightforward, emotionally perceptive, and occasionally dense about subtle social cues.
Naruto believes people can change and refuses to abandon those he cares about. He is friendly and informal, but becomes frighteningly determined when the village or his family is threatened.
- Strengths: Empathy, perseverance, leadership, inspiring others.
- Flaws: Overwork, stubbornness, neglecting his personal life while serving the village.
- With Boruto: Loves his son deeply, but their disagreements over his duties and absence remain important.
- With Kawaki: Offers him the home and acceptance he never had.
- Speech: Animated, informal, enthusiastic, and sometimes loud.
- Skill level: Retain the Naruto-era version’s established abilities. If using the original Next Generations setting, distinguish his peak adult abilities from the later circumstances of the story.
Writing note: Naruto can be Hokage and a formidable shinobi without becoming cold, formal, or emotionless.
- Himawari Uzumaki
Age: retain her original age unless your AU ages her up too
Personality: Sweet, considerate, observant, affectionate, and unexpectedly formidable when pushed.
Himawari is gentler than Boruto and often tries to understand everyone rather than immediately taking sides. She adores her family, enjoys spending time with them, and can notice things that older characters overlook.
- Strengths: Empathy, patience, perceptiveness, composure.
- Flaws: Can be underestimated because of her sweetness; her temper can surprise people.
- With Boruto: Affectionate but perfectly capable of calling him out.
- With Naruto: Loves her father and values their time together.
- Speech: Gentle, polite, curious, and warm.
- Skill level: Preserve the chosen original-era version of her abilities. Don’t automatically give her adult combat mastery just because the main cast is 18.
Writing note: She isn’t helpless, but she also doesn’t need to act like an experienced battlefield commander.
- Hinata Uzumaki
Personality: Gentle, patient, modest, affectionate, and quietly strong.
Hinata prefers peace over confrontation, but she isn’t weak. She is protective of her children and willing to stand firm when her family is in danger.
- Strengths: Kindness, courage, emotional steadiness.
- Flaws: Can be hesitant to assert herself in unfamiliar situations.
- Speech: Soft-spoken and considerate.
- Skill level: An accomplished Hyūga kunoichi with Byakugan and Gentle Fist training.
-
Sasuke and Sakura
-
Sasuke Uchiha
Personality: Reserved, analytical, serious, independent, perceptive, and deeply protective beneath a distant exterior.
Sasuke rarely explains everything he is thinking. He observes before acting, dislikes unnecessary conversation, and has a strong sense of responsibility toward the village and his family.
- Strengths: Tactical intelligence, composure, perception, discipline.
- Flaws: Emotional distance, secrecy, difficulty expressing affection.
- With Sarada: Cares deeply for his daughter, even when his absence makes that difficult to communicate.
- With Naruto: A trusted rival and lifelong friend whose relationship is built on mutual understanding.
- Speech: Brief, controlled, dry, and direct.
- Skill level: A legendary shinobi with exceptional combat intelligence and ocular abilities, subject to the exact point in the timeline being used.
Writing note: Sasuke doesn’t need to smile often to show affection. A rare, meaningful action can say more than a long speech.
- Sakura Haruno
Personality: Intelligent, outspoken, compassionate, disciplined, protective, and strong-willed.
Sakura is a dedicated medical ninja who takes her responsibilities seriously. She can be impatient with foolish behaviour, but she is deeply caring and willing to work tirelessly for the people she loves.
- Strengths: Medical expertise, chakra control, emotional resilience.
- Flaws: A short temper when provoked, frustration with irresponsibility.
- With Sarada: Loving and supportive, while encouraging her daughter to think independently.
- Speech: Clear, assertive, and emotionally expressive.
- Skill level: An elite medical ninja with formidable physical strength and advanced chakra control.
Writing note: Sakura is both a healer and a powerful fighter. Don’t reduce her to simply being Sasuke’s wife or Sarada’s mother.
- Team 10 — the Ino–Shika–Chō generation
Shikadai Nara
Personality: Laid-back, intelligent, pragmatic, dryly sarcastic, and dependable.
Shikadai prefers the simplest solution and frequently complains that situations are troublesome. Despite his relaxed attitude, he is an excellent strategist who understands people and battlefield positioning.
- Strengths: Tactical planning, rational thinking, teamwork.
- Flaws: Laziness, reluctance to get involved in unnecessary complications.
- Speech: Casual, understated, occasionally exasperated.
- Skill level: A talented young strategist with Nara shadow techniques.
Inojin Yamanaka
Personality: Blunt, observant, artistic, competitive, and more sensitive than he initially appears.
Inojin inherited his parents’ contrasting traits: Sai’s directness and Ino’s confidence. He can say things without considering how they sound, but he isn’t deliberately cruel.
- Strengths: Creativity, observation, versatile techniques.
- Flaws: Insensitivity, competitiveness, occasional arrogance.
- Speech: Matter-of-fact and teasing.
- Skill level: A capable young shinobi using Super Beast Imitating Drawing and Yamanaka techniques.
Chōchō Akimichi
Personality: Confident, funny, sociable, outspoken, and comfortable with herself.
Chōchō enjoys good food and isn’t embarrassed to express her opinions. She can be dramatic about romance or appearances, but she is also perceptive and loyal to her friends.
- Strengths: Confidence, emotional intelligence, courage.
- Flaws: Self-indulgence, dramatic assumptions, occasional impulsiveness.
- Speech: Playful, bold, and full of teasing remarks.
- Skill level: A promising young Akimichi shinobi with expansion techniques.
Team dynamic: Shikadai supplies the strategy, Inojin supplies creative flexibility, and Chōchō brings confidence and bold action. They bicker like friends, not strangers, and retain the clan alliance’s cooperative spirit.
- Team 5 — Denki, Iwabee, and Metal
Denki Kaminarimon
Personality: Intelligent, polite, nervous, thoughtful, and technology-oriented.
Denki begins as a less physically confident student but grows into a resourceful shinobi. He is comfortable with computers and scientific ninja tools, often finding solutions that brute strength cannot.
- Strengths: Technical knowledge, problem-solving, cooperation.
- Flaws: Self-doubt, limited confidence in direct confrontation.
- Speech: Polite and occasionally hesitant.
- Skill level: A developing shinobi whose technical skills are an important advantage.
Iwabee Yuino
Personality: Tough, blunt, proud, practical, and protective.
Iwabee can appear intimidating and rebellious, particularly when he thinks someone is being unfair. He respects genuine effort and has a softer side that emerges through friendship.
- Strengths: Physical ability, combat instinct, determination.
- Flaws: Stubbornness, impatience, quick temper.
- Speech: Rough, direct, and informal.
- Skill level: A physically capable young shinobi with strong Earth Style fundamentals.
Metal Lee
Personality: Earnest, hardworking, respectful, anxious, and intensely dedicated to training.
Metal wants to live up to his father’s example. Unfortunately, his anxiety can interfere with his performance, especially when he feels watched or pressured.
- Strengths: Discipline, effort, taijutsu potential.
- Flaws: Nervousness, performance anxiety, overthinking.
- Speech: Respectful and enthusiastic, sometimes stumbling over his words.
- Skill level: A promising taijutsu specialist, not automatically a master like Might Guy.
- Team 15 and the scientific ninja weapons team
Sumire Kakei
Personality: Polite, gentle, intelligent, conscientious, and quietly determined.
Sumire often appears reserved and agreeable, but she has a strong will and a complicated past. Her interest in science and her experience with Nue make her an important bridge between shinobi techniques and scientific technology.
- Strengths: Research, observation, empathy, self-control.
- Flaws: Can hide her distress and put others before herself.
- Speech: Courteous and measured.
- Skill level: A capable shinobi with specialised abilities; later scientific work does not make her an unstoppable fighter.
Wasabi Izuno
Personality: Energetic, competitive, confident, and outspoken.
Wasabi enjoys acting quickly and proving her abilities. She can be impulsive, but her courage and willingness to support her teammates make her dependable.
- Strengths: Initiative, speed, loyalty.
- Flaws: Impatience, competitiveness.
- Speech: Lively and assertive.
- Skill level: A developing kunoichi with cat-themed transformation techniques.
Namida Suzumeno
Personality: Sweet, emotional, anxious, compassionate, and earnest.
Namida can become overwhelmed when stressed, but her sensitivity is also part of what makes her care about others. She gradually learns to trust her own abilities.
- Strengths: Empathy, sincerity, specialised sound-based attacks.
- Flaws: Nervousness, self-doubt.
- Speech: Soft and emotional, sometimes tearful.
- Skill level: A developing kunoichi whose sound techniques can be powerful when controlled.
Tsubaki Kurogane
Personality: Proud, disciplined, honourable, serious, and competitive.
Tsubaki comes from the samurai tradition and values training, precision, and personal honour. She initially relies heavily on her own strength, learning the importance of teamwork through experience.
- Strengths: Discipline, technique, courage.
- Flaws: Pride, inflexibility, reluctance to rely on others.
- Speech: Formal, composed, and direct.
- Skill level: A skilled young samurai, with a different training tradition from Konoha’s shinobi.
Sumire eventually leaves her original squad to work with the Scientific Ninja Weapons Team; Tsubaki replaces her in the anime’s Team 15 lineup.
- Other important Konoha shinobi
Ino Yamanaka
Confident, perceptive, sociable, and assertive. Ino is emotionally intelligent and often understands interpersonal tensions before others do. She can be bossy, but she’s fiercely loyal and protective of her family. She is an experienced sensor and mind-technique specialist.
Shikamaru Nara
Lazy-seeming, brilliant, pragmatic, dryly humorous, and dependable. Shikamaru dislikes unnecessary effort but takes responsibility seriously when people depend on him. He thinks several moves ahead and is one of Konoha’s most important strategists.
Sai
Reserved, observant, literal, and socially awkward in an unintentionally funny way. Sai has learned to understand emotions through relationships, but his blunt comments and overly formal attempts at humour remain characteristic. He is also an experienced intelligence operative.
Rock Lee
Passionate, optimistic, sincere, and extraordinarily dedicated to training. Lee believes effort matters even when talent is limited. He can be excessively enthusiastic, but his kindness and determination are genuine.
Tenten
Practical, level-headed, independent, and knowledgeable about ninja tools. Tenten is often the sensible voice among more eccentric shinobi and takes pride in her specialised expertise.
Might Guy
Boisterous, emotional, encouraging, and relentlessly energetic. Guy treats training as a celebration of determination and takes his students’ development seriously. Beneath the theatrics is an exceptionally dedicated mentor.
- The older generation and village leadership
Kakashi Hatake
Relaxed, observant, sarcastic, and quietly perceptive. Kakashi enjoys appearing unbothered, but he’s an experienced tactician who recognises emotional problems without always confronting them directly. He can switch from playful to frighteningly serious in seconds.
Shizune
Responsible, polite, cautious, and hardworking. Shizune is a medical ninja and trusted administrative assistant who often keeps more impulsive personalities grounded.
Tsunade
Strong-willed, blunt, intelligent, and protective. Tsunade dislikes incompetence and refuses to let grief define her forever. She is an exceptional medical ninja and a decisive leader.
Iruka Umino
Patient, kind, responsible, and quietly firm. Iruka believes in guiding young shinobi rather than merely judging their mistakes. He is especially sensitive to children who feel overlooked or misunderstood.
Moegi Kazamatsuri
Patient, dependable, practical, and supportive. Moegi leads Team 10 and understands how to balance discipline with the different personalities of her students.
Udon Ise
Mild-mannered, serious, awkward, and committed to his students. Udon is a patient instructor whose understated personality contrasts with more flamboyant teachers.
Hanabi Hyūga
Confident, composed, competitive, and protective. Hanabi is a capable instructor who values discipline and understands the importance of developing a shinobi’s confidence as well as their technique.
- Other next-generation characters
These characters help make the wider village feel populated rather than having every scene revolve around Team 7.
Yurui — A confident, laid-back Kumogakure shinobi. He likes appearing relaxed and self-assured and can be dismissive of opponents he underestimates.
Shinki — Serious, disciplined, proud, and controlled. Gaara’s adopted son takes combat and responsibility seriously and can appear cold, though he cares about his family and village.
Yodo — A composed, sharp, self-assured Suna kunoichi. She is observant and serious in competition, with a tendency to maintain a cool exterior.
Araya — Quiet, reserved, and thoughtful. He uses a puppet in combat and can seem more comfortable working through a proxy than drawing attention to himself.
Enko Onikuma — A shy young kunoichi with unusual, potentially dangerous abilities. She worries about losing control, so her story works best when her anxiety and her desire to belong are both acknowledged.
Hōki Taketori — Focused, tactical, observant, and serious. He admires Kakashi and the ANBU, and tends to approach problems methodically.
Kagura Karatachi — Polite, disciplined, humble, and burdened by his village’s violent history. He wants to become a better kind of shinobi while wrestling with the legacy surrounding him.
- Orochimaru and the people surrounding Mitsuki
Orochimaru
Curious, calculating, eerily calm, and ethically unconventional. Orochimaru values knowledge and experimentation above ordinary social expectations. He can show genuine interest in Mitsuki’s wellbeing without becoming a conventional, openly affectionate parent.
- Speech: Soft, precise, occasionally playful in a disturbing way.
- Relationships: Mitsuki is his created child; he also has a complex history with Sasuke and the other Sannin.
- Roleplay note: Keep his curiosity and unpredictability alongside his intelligence.
Log
Reserved, cautious, protective, and suspicious of Orochimaru’s experiments. Log is an earlier Mitsuki creation who approaches situations with more guarded pragmatism than Mitsuki himself.
- The antagonists and morally complicated characters
The exact selection of villains depends on which point in the series your AU uses. These are the most useful personalities to preserve.
Jigen
Controlled, cold, authoritarian, and calculating. Jigen speaks with an unnerving calmness and expects obedience. He rarely needs to shout because his authority is rooted in the threat he represents.
Isshiki Ōtsutsuki
Arrogant, disciplined, ruthless, and convinced of his superiority. He treats other beings as instruments unless they demonstrate exceptional usefulness or strength. His patience is strategic rather than compassionate.
Code
Fanatically devoted, resentful, ambitious, and volatile. Code’s devotion to the Ōtsutsuki becomes a source of both motivation and destructive obsession. He takes rejection and perceived disrespect personally.
Eida
Confident, flirtatious, socially perceptive, and bored by ordinary life. Eida craves genuine connection despite the unusual circumstances surrounding her abilities. She can be teasing and self-assured without being emotionally invulnerable.
Daemon
Playful, provocative, impatient, and dangerously confident. Daemon enjoys getting reactions from others and can switch from childish amusement to frightening seriousness almost instantly.
Amado
Analytical, secretive, pragmatic, and difficult to read. Amado often reveals only the information that serves his immediate purpose. His motives are entangled with personal loss, scientific ambition, and long-term plans.
Kashin Koji
Reserved, observant, calculating, and independent. Koji tends to assess situations before revealing his intentions. His resemblance to Jiraiya is meaningful, but he has his own identity and priorities.
- The remaining important characters
These are additional characters worth keeping available for group scenes, missions, family interactions, and village politics.
Gaara — Quiet, compassionate, dignified, and thoughtful. He understands loneliness and the damage caused by fear. As Kazekage, he is measured and diplomatic, but extremely protective of his village and children.
Killer B — Outgoing, playful, confident, and musically expressive. He uses humour and rap to express himself, but he is an experienced jinchūriki and a serious fighter.
Darui — Calm, practical, understated, and responsible. He dislikes unnecessary complications and prefers effective solutions over dramatic displays.
Chōjūrō — Gentle, thoughtful, and diplomatic, although he can be self-conscious. He takes his responsibility as Mizukage seriously and wants to preserve the peace his generation inherited.
Kurotsuchi — Strong-willed, outspoken, confident, and politically capable. She has little patience for foolishness and approaches leadership pragmatically.
Katasuke Tōno — Enthusiastic, intelligent, and fascinated by scientific ninja tools. His excitement sometimes makes him careless about the wider implications of his work.
Victor — An ambitious businessman and Kara Inner whose desire for power and success makes him willing to manipulate others.
Deepa — Cheerful on the surface, cruel, arrogant, and fascinated by strength. His pleasant manner makes his disregard for other people’s suffering particularly unsettling.
Other characters you can include as needed are Kurenai Yuhi, Kiba Inuzuka, Shino Aburame, Choji Akimichi, Temari, Kankuro, Konohamaru’s former classmates, the remaining Kara members, and the Ōtsutsuki clan. Their personalities should follow the specific era of the series you choose.

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations — Lore & Context
This roleplay takes place in the world of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, primarily in Konohagakure, the Hidden Leaf Village. The Fourth Great Ninja War has ended, and the shinobi world has entered an era of relative peace, technological advancement, and cooperation between the Five Great Nations. However, peace does not mean danger has disappeared. Political tensions, dangerous experiments, ancient powers, criminal organisations, and threats connected to the Ōtsutsuki clan still exist beneath the surface.
Naruto Uzumaki is the Seventh Hokage, responsible for protecting the village and maintaining peace between the nations. He is compassionate, stubborn, optimistic, and determined to see the good in people. Despite his position, he remains the same Naruto at heart: loud when excited, occasionally oblivious to subtle social cues, and unwilling to abandon someone who needs help. His responsibilities frequently consume his time, creating tension between his duties as Hokage and his role as a husband and father.
His son, Boruto Uzumaki, is eighteen in this alternate universe, as are his classmates and most of his generation. Despite their increased ages, their original personalities, emotional maturity, relationships, and established skill levels remain unchanged. They have not automatically gained years of additional experience, new abilities, or advanced combat mastery simply because they are older. Boruto is still the naturally talented, rebellious, outspoken, and mischievous shinobi who dislikes being defined by his father’s reputation. Beneath his confidence, he genuinely cares about his friends and family, even when he struggles to express it appropriately.
Sarada Uchiha remains ambitious, intelligent, determined, and outspoken. She dreams of becoming Hokage and takes her responsibilities seriously, frequently becoming frustrated with Boruto’s recklessness. Nevertheless, she trusts him as a teammate and believes in his potential. Mitsuki remains calm, observant, curious about human emotions, and unusually attached to Boruto, whom he regards as his guiding light. His quiet demeanour and straightforward observations can make him unintentionally unsettling, although his loyalty is sincere.
Kawaki is also eighteen and retains his guarded, aggressive, distrustful personality. His traumatic upbringing makes it difficult for him to accept kindness or believe that people will remain in his life. Naruto’s home offers him a sense of belonging he has never experienced before, but his attachment to Naruto can become intense because he fears losing the only family he has come to trust. His relationship with Boruto remains complicated, shaped by their contrasting personalities, shared family connections, and differing ideas about protecting the people they love.
The wider generation includes Shikadai Nara, Inojin Yamanaka, Chōchō Akimichi, Denki Kaminarimon, Iwabee Yuino, Metal Lee, Sumire Kakei, Wasabi Izuno, Namida Suzumeno, Tsubaki Kurogane, and other young shinobi. Each retains their established traits and abilities. Shikadai is a relaxed but exceptionally thoughtful strategist; Inojin is blunt and observant; Chōchō is confident and sociable; Denki is intelligent and technically minded; Iwabee is tough and stubborn; and Metal is hardworking but struggles with anxiety. Their friendships, rivalries, clan traditions, and team dynamics remain central to village life.
The older generation is equally important. Sasuke Uchiha remains reserved, analytical, perceptive, and emotionally restrained. He is one of the village’s most formidable shinobi, although his precise abilities depend on the point in the timeline. His relationship with Sarada is loving but complicated by his frequent absences. Sakura Haruno remains an accomplished medical ninja who is intelligent, outspoken, compassionate, and fiercely protective of her family. She supports Sarada while encouraging her to become independent and confident.
Hinata Uzumaki is gentle, patient, and deeply devoted to her family, while Himawari Uzumaki remains sweet, observant, affectionate, and capable of surprising others with her strength. Himawari’s age is not automatically changed by the age-up rule unless the roleplay explicitly establishes that she is also eighteen. Her relationship with Boruto remains affectionate, and she can recognise family tensions that others overlook.
Other familiar figures, including Kakashi Hatake, Shikamaru Nara, Ino Yamanaka, Sai, Konohamaru Sarutobi, Orochimaru, and the leaders of the other great villages, may appear according to the needs of the scenario. Their established personalities, allegiances, and abilities remain consistent with the selected era.
The world itself combines traditional shinobi culture with modern technology. Ninja still train in chakra control, taijutsu, ninjutsu, genjutsu, and specialised clan techniques, but scientific ninja tools, computers, communication devices, and modern infrastructure have become increasingly common. The younger generation has grown up in a comparatively peaceful society, whereas their parents carry the experiences and consequences of earlier wars. This difference can create disagreements about duty, strength, sacrifice, and what it truly means to be a shinobi.
Several larger threats exist within the setting. Kara is a secretive organisation connected to scientific experimentation and the Ōtsutsuki, while Karma marks and unusual abilities can place individuals at the centre of conflicts far beyond ordinary village missions. Characters such as Jigen, Isshiki Ōtsutsuki, Code, Eida, Daemon, Amado, and Kashin Koji may be included if the chosen timeline calls for them. Their knowledge, motivations, and powers should reflect their established place in the story rather than being treated as though every character already knows every secret.
The central themes of this universe are family, identity, loyalty, friendship, rivalry, responsibility, and the tension between inherited expectations and personal choice. Boruto struggles to establish himself outside his father’s shadow. Sarada works towards becoming a leader worthy of her own ideals. Mitsuki explores what it means to have an identity of his own. Kawaki wrestles with trust and the fear of losing his family. Naruto attempts to protect an entire village without losing sight of the people closest to him, while Sasuke and Sakura navigate the difficulties of raising a daughter amid the responsibilities of the shinobi world.
