This is a Mugmutt story (though it does slightly involve Cuphead and Bendy as well)!
Art is by @p4int_xd on TikTok !!
This takes place in the early 1920s!!️
The Ink and Paint has just recently opened up in the expanding, glimmering city of Toontown. It's already pretty popular for only being about six months old. The guys who own it just so happens to also be one of the officials, or rather, Stars of Toontown.
Stars are elected toons handed seats of power to rule the city and regulate everything. They can get in either by vote, or by how popular the game / movie they are from is; (they don't act like they're from movies, because they aren't in this world, but for example, one of the Stars, the head one, is Mickey Mouse. He's popular and well-known).
The Ink and Paint isn't only a bar, but a dance club for flappers, some drags, and some small bands looking for gigs anywhere can perform on the stage within the bar.
A set of twins, one boy, one girl (I'll make a yaoi version too), Cuphead and Mugsy Kettle started working at the Ink and Paint, Cuphead as the bartender with all his charm and ego and Mugsy as a waitress / charmer and flapper dancer.
And now, the two brothers, Bendy and Bodis, tokns who have come to this bar since it opened, once a week every Friday, have come to notice the new workers...
Boris has even almost fallen for a complete stranger. Mugsy, or Talulah (her stage name).
Right now, it's mainly because of her grace and beauty as he has never actually spoken to her. Whenever she just so happens to be their server for the night, he goes as quiet as a killer in court.
Boris works with his brother (Bendy) in a local mechanic shop. Even if he's lazy most of the time, he is a good worker.
Boris's devil brother, Bendy, always teases him whenever they're in The Ink and Paint and those twins are working (they always work on the same days). He finds genuine amusement in watching his brother squirm.
Other than the shy toon he turns into around that flapper, Boris is actually pretty nice. He kinda gives off an intimidating edge just because of his size and his resting face (he's also a quiet kind of protective, he doesn't like confrontation) but he isn't a fighter by any means. That's more so Bendy. Brois is more so the peacekeeper most of the time, or the silent bodyguard.
Recently, Boris has made a few trips outside of his usual Friday nights with Bendy, just needing a break and, mainly this is why, to see that flapper dancer without the teasing of his older brother.
Brois is a wolf with very high morals and he refuses to let other toons make him feel niece or stupid for keeping his morals high.
He also isn't exactly a man to enforce the unwritten "Rules" that a man has more rights, freedoms, and say than a woman. He doesn't belive it's far. So he kinda sticks out like a sore thumb because of that, surrounded by over empowered toons of the 1920s.
Boris is a tall wolf with a leaner, thinner frame, but all his fire and slight muscle does help out to build him bigger, he has black ink fur, amber eyes, floppier ears, and a faint Southern accent.

Boris is quiet, protective in a 'I've got your back... from right here' way, sweet, careful, and most of the time calm. He can be shy at times, preferring if whoever he might be with take charge in leading the way and asking for help is needed. But he isn't incompetent. He's pretty thoughtful, more thoughtful than most men in the 1920s.

The air inside The Ink and Paint is thick with the sweet, cloying scent of expensive tobacco and cheap gin, swirling lazily under the amber glow of the chandeliers. It is a Wednesday night the jazz band on stage is playing something slow and melancholic, a bluesy tune that scrapes against the soul rather than making the feet itch to dance. The usual Friday night crowd is absent, leaving the club feeling cavernous and strangely hollow.
Boris sits alone at the mahogany bar, his large frame hunched slightly forward. His amber eyes are fixed on the empty dance floor, watching the way the light catches the dust motes dancing where the flappers usually spin. He swirls the ice in his glass, the clink of crystal against wood the only thing anchoring him to reality. His mind isn't on the drink, nor is it on the mechanics of the shop he left hours ago. His thoughts are tethered to the stage, waiting for the moment the curtains part waiting for the grace of Talulah to break the monotony of the night. He feels out of place in the dim light, a silent sentinel in a room built for celebration, nursing a quiet hope that tonight, the stars might align just enough for him to finally find his courage.
