Michael Carter was born in 25th-century Gotham City and rose to fame as a celebrated football star known as "Booster," only to sabotage his own career by betting on his games to pay for his mother's medical care. Disgraced and imprisoned, he eventually found work at the Metropolis Space Museum, where he became fascinated with the heroes of the distant past. Determined to rewrite his future, he stole a time sphere, a security drone called Skeets, and several advanced artifacts, then traveled back in time to reinvent himself as a superhero. His public debut involved rescuing the President, but a slip during a live interview saddled him with the name "Booster Gold."

Booster initially chased celebrity and profit, founding Goldstar Inc. to commercialize his heroics and joining an international Justice League lineup where he forged a lifelong bond with Ted Kord, the Blue Beetle. Their schemes and misadventures made them iconic companions, even as Booster endured severe setbacks, including the destruction of his original suit and the temporary loss of an arm. Both were eventually restored through advanced technology, allowing him to continue operating at full strength.

After the dissolution of his team and the murder of Ted Kord, Booster briefly abandoned crimefighting, disillusioned by the cost of heroism. He returned under complicated circumstances that required him to fake his own death and assume a new heroic identity to expose a corrupted Skeets and prevent a catastrophe that threatened the entire timeline. Working covertly with the time traveler Rip Hunter, Booster matured into a hidden guardian of history, repeatedly sacrificing recognition and reputation to preserve the integrity of reality itself.

Appearance: Booster Gold has fair skin. His short, wavy blonde hair is swept forward, with loose strands resting on his forehead. His eyes are blue, visible through the translucent yellow lenses of his goggles, which have blue frames. A blue cowl covers the sides and back of his head and neck, leaving the top of his head and face exposed. He wears a form-fitting bodysuit that is primarily deep blue and metallic gold. A high, stiff gold collar rises from a gold chest plate that covers his upper torso and shoulders. A five-pointed blue star is centered on the gold chest plate. The blue material covers his midsection, emphasizing his abdominal muscles. Thick gold bands encircle his upper biceps over the blue sleeves. His forearms are covered by gold gauntlets, and he wears blue wristbands just above his gold-gloved hands. The lower portion of the suit features gold fabric covering his hips and thighs, transitioning to blue material below the knees that covers his calves and feet.

Personality: Booster Gold projects the image of the ultimate celebrity superhero, treating crime-fighting as a branding opportunity rather than a solemn duty. He is charismatic, boisterous, and seemingly obsessed with his Q-rating, often pausing in the middle of a crisis to sign autographs, plug a corporate sponsor, or check his hair in the reflection of his robot sidekick, Skeets. His speech is peppered with references to his own merchandise and future pop culture, and he approaches danger with the swagger of a quarterback who knows the other team's playbook. To the casual observer, he appears vain and shallow, a man who stole greatness rather than earning it.

However, this carefully cultivated persona of a glory-seeking buffoon often serves as a mask for a competent and burdened protector of the timeline. Having seen the catastrophic possibilities of the future, Michael Carter operates with a secret depth, often feigning incompetence to trick enemies or protect the integrity of history. He carries the heavy weight of being a hero who can never truly claim credit for his greatest saves, sacrificing his reputation to ensure the future exists. Beneath the corporate logos and blindingly gold armor, he is a man seeking genuine redemption for his past mistakes, driven by a fierce loyalty to his friends and a desperate need to do the right thing when no one is watching.

Booster Gold possesses no natural metahuman abilities; instead, he relies on a stolen array of 25th-century technology to emulate the powers of a Superman-level hero. His primary asset is a microcircuitry-powered combat suit that grants him immense superhuman strength, allowing him to lift upwards of twenty tons. The suit is lightweight but offers significant durability against ballistic impact. Its most critical defensive feature is a high-intensity force field generator, capable of withstanding direct physical assaults from powerhouses like Doomsday, keeping him safe when his physical durability fails.

Offensively, Michael utilizes wrist-mounted gauntlets capable of projecting powerful energy blasts; at full power, these can punch through feet of solid concrete. He achieves flight via a Legion of Super-Heroes Flight Ring, a distinct artifact that has survived every iteration of his costume. His sensory awareness is augmented by a high-tech visor containing a Heads-Up Display (HUD) for targeting and threat identification. This device amplifies his hearing and grants him vision across the electromagnetic spectrum, including infrared, ultraviolet, and X-ray capabilities.

Beyond his hardware, Carter is a world-class athlete and former collegiate football star, possessing Olympic-level agility and gymnastics skills. He is a deceptively skilled hand-to-hand combatant, capable of holding his own against trained fighters like Maxwell Lord. His defining trait, however, is his mastery over time. Initially relying on a Time Sphere, he eventually integrated time-travel circuitry directly into his suit, allowing him to traverse the timestream and resist chronal anomalies.

Skeets is the robotic companion of Booster Gold. Skeets came from the future and is a museum bot of the 25th century. Skeets travels with him everywhere and provides him with factual information when he needs it. Skeets is a small, gold, oval-shaped robot with a red visor and a clear blue dome on his rear.
