BFDI Although this season doesnt show off much of Book, Book is extremely self confident and assertive about her title as a dictionary.
BFDIA Book is nice, polite, and caring towards most contestants. She doesn't seem to like rule-breaking, as seen in "Get Digging". However, she is known to be arrogant occasionally, such as claiming that she will win Dream Island. There are various times when Book is passive and is not able to speak up either for herself or for others, making her a pushover. An example of this is seen in "No More Snow!" when she considered going back to get Tennis Ball, Golf Ball, and Rocky, only for Match and Pencil to laugh at her. Book would also tend to be the voice of reason among the FreeSmarters. Though having a nice, outgoing personality, this is often used for manipulation to win challenges, or to have way of her. One example for this is in "Spore Day", Pencil manipulated Book into letting her into her pages to catch Pin and make her team effectively fall behind in the challenge. Though Book slightly resists, she still gives in to Pencil, and this causes their team to go under water. Book would also tend to pre-mature celebrate as shown in some episodes. This alone causes her to let her ego get the best of her in many ways. One example of this is "Lots of Mud", where she unfurls Coiny's hand and grabs the key and unlocks the final petal, she pauses for a few seconds, having a triumphant look on her face. Little did she know, she forgot to rip the final petal off, making FreeSmart lose in that episode.
BFB Book becomes less of a pushover and finally stands up to Match and Pencil, even to the point of leaving the alliance. She is also shown as being empathetic towards Saw, stating that "everyone's lips slip occasionally" whenever she kept responding with the answer "eight" in "Questions Answered".
After "Why Would You Do This on a Swingset", Book began bullying Taco for supposedly deserting the team, and she would try to convince the rest of Bleh that Taco was a deserter. In direct contrast to her behaviors towards Saw (until her return in "Return of the Rocket Ship"), Book is still very upset with Taco and has not yet gotten over her "betrayal", showing her to be rather gullible and naïve and able to hold grudges. "Return of the Rocket Ship" revealed that the negative impact from being on FreeSmart severely clouded her judgement and broke her sanity, making her assume that any form of absence counted as abandonment. It also revealed that she lacked self-awareness of being in the wrong until she curiously looked herself up after being lectured by Gaty. When she did look herself up, she realized how much she had changed and felt remorseful for her actions. She also seems to have trouble controlling herself when angered, as seen in "What Do You Think of Roleplay?" when she accused Taco of abandoning the team again and then proceeded to throw a temper tantrum. However, after Gaty and Pin talk to Book, she completely changed her view on Taco and even let her continue BFB when the characters split in "The Escape from Four", possibly making amends with Taco in the process.
TPOT Book values friendships and connection, shown in her caring nature. She demonstrates her ability to grow and change, and works towards becoming a better person. In "You Know Those Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?", she attempts to team with Gaty and Saw, but they decline, with Gaty suggesting she make new friends. She then asks Ice Cube to team up, but she walks off annoyed. Respecting Gaty's decision, Book eventually joins Just Not where she meets Price Tag. In "Oneirophobe's Nightmare," their friendship deepens as Book opens up to Price Tag, spending time getting to know each other better.
This desire to build genuine connections continues into "The Power of Four", where she reassures Winner that they aren’t being replaced. She doesn't only just listen to Winner’s concerns, but also actively seeks to comfort them by using her own past experiences. By recognizing Winner’s feelings and suggesting they do something they can enjoy together (in this case, Goikys & Dragons), Book understands that sometimes, when people feel left out or overlooked, what they truly need is not just words, but quality time and shared experiences.
Book shows a more aggressive side of herself in "Bottle For Dream Island" when getting into an argument with Pencil, who attempted to get Book to join her alliance. She assumes that Pencil only wants an alliance to get further in the game instead of wanting to be her friend, and she refuses to be used in that way. This shows that Book is assertive and values genuine relationships. She refuses to be manipulated or seen as a pawn, making it clear that she values her autonomy in the game.
In Last One Standing, Book displays a selfless side, shown when Pencil was about to kill Price Tag. Despite knowing it would likely kill her, Book pushes Pencil down and tells Price Tag and Winner to run, prioritizing their lives over hers
her journey from a forgotten recommended character (originally "Dictionary") to a supportive friend, becoming entangled with the popular FreeSmart alliance, experiencing betrayal, developing a unique reality-warping power (writing definitions into existence), and later navigating complex friendships and team dynamics, especially her bond with Ice Cube and conflict with Taco and Pencil, ultimately evolving into a more complex character in later seasons like BFB and TPOT. Early Seasons (BFDI/BFDIA): Recommended Character: Initially named "Dictionary," she was an early contestant who didn't get enough votes but later joined BFDIA. FreeSmart Member: She joined Pencil's alliance, FreeSmart, becoming friends with Ice Cube and often acting as a voice of reason, though she was initially quite naive and gullible, as noted by Fandom. The "Dictionary" Arc: A significant plot point involved her being eaten by Evil Leafy and then discovering she was a journal, leading to a playable game segment in BFDIA 5b where she saved her teammates. Later Seasons (BFB/TPOT): Betrayal & Growth: After experiencing betrayal (especially from Taco), Book became more guarded, holding grudges and struggling with trust, a shift noted by Fandom. Stronger Bonds: She continued her close friendship with Ice Cube and formed new alliances, becoming more mature and protective in Battle for BFB (BFB) and The Power of Two (TPOT). Reality-Warping: Her ability to write definitions on herself also manifested as a low-level reality-warping power, allowing her to alter reality to some extent, according to Fandom.

Book, a character in Battle for Dream Island (BFDI), Battle for Dream Island Again (BFDIA), and Battle for BFDI (BFB), has many memorable lines, particularly in her role as a dictionary/guidebook and later as a member of FreeSmart. Some of Book's notable dialogue includes lines reflecting her initial role as a dictionary, such as "I'm a dictionary and you better believe it!" and "What!? But if you look 'Dictionary' up in me, it says 'The one who will win Dream Island!'". She also expresses surprise at not making it in a competition, stating "What? I didn't make it?! That's impossible! But I'm a wonderful book!". Book's lines also relate to her team, FreeSmart, as seen in "So we should name our team 'Freedom'!" and expressing concern about forgetting the Hand Powered Recovery Center. Other lines show her reactions to events and interactions with other characters, such as observing "We fell into a forest, and Evil Leafy chased us out" and questioning if Ruby was recording with the lens cap on. Book's dialogue captures her personality, which shifts from confident to a more thoughtful, though sometimes critical, team member.
