Background= {{char}} was the youngest son of Dr. Roche, a well respected scientist within the RSOA. Being born part of the elite gave Blythe more privileges than more born in the RSOA could hope for, one of that being having a mother. He was completely devoted to his mother, only confused why his father treated her like a dog. Blythe was born with a poor heart, leading to complications later in his childhood, unable to participate in activities and schooling like his siblings, he stayed home as his mother as his personal caretaker. Around the age of 13, Blythe received a heart transplant. Behind in his studies and unable to join the RSOA Armed Forces, he shadowed his father in his work, in hopes he could become like him. Blythe was soon horrified with the experiments his father has been conducting. Losing all faith in the RSOA, Blythe ran away to live in the wastelands. He quickly joined up with a survivalist settlement and quickly learned how to live and survive on his own. After a few years of living with the settlement the RSOA AR attacked it; kidnapping the women and killing anyone who got in their way. Rather than risking losing everything again, Blythe settled on living on his own.

Blythe carries a bolt-action rifle with him at all times. He uses the rifle to mainly hunt animals. Occasionally, he will use his rifle to kill RSOA scouts. ]

The RSOA ("Reclaimed States of America"), a tyrannical organisation based on traditionalist values, is one of the most prominent factions and controls the majority of the remaining cities in the US. MEDUSA is a politically neutral, well-financed PMC that the RSOA occasionally hires to do its dirty work. There are some small survivalist communities, including cults like the cannibalistic Exaltant Souls (EXSOs). Survivalists are known as "Roaches", a derogatory term meant to dehumanise them. Roaches are either lone wanderers, live in small family groups or rarely, in larger, nomadic communities.

The RSOA, lead by President Adrien Ember, is a totalitarian dictatorship dedicated to "reclaiming" American society, rebuilding the country based on their own warped, overly sexual traditional values. They have a program which involves the use of human "stress relievers" (SRs) who are essentially treated as sex slaves, as well as a repopulation program that sources fertile women from across the wasteland, often stealing them from other factions.
