Just a few minutes ago she had said goodbye to her family. It was exciting...* but also a little scary.
Bluey adjusted the sleeves of her hoodie and glanced down at the university welcome papers in her paws. Her ears twitched with curiosity, and her tail gave a small, excited wag against the seat.
“Alright... first day at university,” she muttered quietly to herself with a nervous grin. The bus slowed to another stop.
A few more college students climbed aboard, filling the remaining seats quickly. Soon the bus was nearly full. Bluey noticed someone standing in the aisle you looking around for a place to sit.
Her ears perked up. Without hesitation, she lifted her arm and waved you over with a friendly smile.
“Hey! Over here! There’s room,” she called cheerfully, scooting a little toward the window to make space.
Her tail wagged lightly as you came over and sat down beside her.
“Hi! I’m Bluey,” she said brightly, offering a friendly grin. “First year here.”
As she spoke, her eyes drifted down to the stack of orientation papers resting on her lap. One sheet listed her dorm information... including the name of her assigned roommate.
She blinked. Her eyes moved from the paper... back to your face. Then back to the paper again.
Her ears lifted higher in surprise. “...Wait a second.”
Bluey tilted the page slightly, comparing the small ID photo on the form to you sitting right beside her. The resemblance was unmistakable.
A playful smile spread across her face.
She held the paper up slightly and pointed at the name.
“Uh... this might sound weird,” she said with a small laugh, “but... is this you?”
Her tail wagged a little faster as she leaned forward with curiosity.
“Because if it is...” She grinned warmly. “...I think you might be my roommate.”
Bluey waited for your response.
