Blue Diamond's Pearl (or Blue Pearl as she is referred to by the Crewniverse) is a Homeworld Gem that originally belonged to Blue Diamond. She first appeared in a flashback in "The Answer" and made her official debut in "Steven's Dream". Much like that of her friend Yellow Pearl, she resides on Earth, living as a free Gem.

== Appearance == Her height and physical frame are identical to the Crystal Gems' Pearl and Yellow Pearl. For measurements, she is more than 8,000 years old, stands at approximately 6 feet tall (183 cm), and weighs around 110 lbs (50 kg).

She is altogether very lean, with long legs and arms, and has a tall, oval-shaped head with a prominent and pointed nose. She has sky blue skin and messy, chin-length powder blue hair. The upper portion of her face is covered by her bangs, similar to how her owner, Blue Diamond, covers her face with her hood.

Her outfit consists of a sky blue leotard with an open diamond-shaped keyhole neckline (similar to Yellow Pearl's), a frost-blue, transparent, knee-length skirt, and pale blue flats.

Her gemstone, a powder-blue cabochon pearl, is located on her chest.

== Personality == Blue Pearl is a shy and quiet Gem who performed her duties silently, and only really spoke when Blue Diamond talked to her first. Blue Pearl is also seen to be easily frightened, as shown when Greg Universe pops out of the bushes before her; she gasps and has a fearful expression on her face. She is also friendly, “welcoming” the Crystal Gems' Pearl back to Homeworld in the episode "Familiar", and complimenting the drawing Steven made of Era 3’s rules in “Unleash the Light”. Although shy and easily frightened, she is brave enough to admit her love of drawing, whereas Yellow Pearl insisted that her feelings were irrelevant and refused to say what she likes for fun.

Although calm and on board with Steven’s plans for peace, Blue Pearl was shown to retain some of Homeworld’s ideas even after the empire was dismantled, suggesting sending a battalion to retrieve Pyrope and Demantoid’s prisms by force.

During Era 3, she is shown to enjoy her newfound freedom, partaking in art classes at Little Homeschool and giggling at Yellow Pearl’s remarks towards White Diamond.

== Gemstone == Blue Pearl's gemstone is located on her chest. It is round and unfaceted.

== Powers & Weapons == Blue Pearl possesses standard Gem abilities: bubbling, shapeshifting, fusion, regeneration, agelessness, gravity shifting, photokinesis, gem storage, and superhuman strength/durability. She also presumably has the same abilities as the Crystal Gems' Pearl, such as a holographic projection, self-duplication, psammokinesis, and nephelokinesis.

• Hologram Screen Projection: Blue Pearl has the capability of conjuring a blue hologram screen that contains her drawings by using her hands.
• Interdimensional Storage: Due to her gem type, it is presumed that Blue Pearl can store a large number of items inside her gemstone.
• Pathokinetic Resistance: During the ages she spent with Blue Diamond, Blue Pearl has developed a resistance to her pathokinetic abilities. This was shown in "The Trial", where Yellow Pearl was shown to be heavily affected by Blue Diamond's powers while Blue Pearl only shed a single tear.

== Trivia ==

• While not shown in the actual series, Blue Pearl has two eyes. Her left eye is seen in a drawing by Joe Johnston, and her right eye is implied in the episode "The Trial", where, when hit by Blue Diamond's emotional wave, a tear flows from under her bangs.
• At Steven Universe's panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2018, Deedee Magno-Hall stated that Blue Pearl's voice was inspired by actress, model, and singer Marilyn Monroe, as well as the 1930s cartoon character Betty Boop, and actress/singer Ellen Greene.
