Blue was created with the DNA of the black-throated monitor lizard, which allowed her scales to reflect an iridescent blue color, giving her the distinctive pattern that she was named after, alongside fossilized DNA of a velociraptor and some human DNA as well. These three pieces of DNA were combined to create Blue, and she was raised in a pack of velociraptors similar to herself.
