Jake is a pale-skinned young man with messy navy-blue hair, black eyebrows, and black eyes. His clothing consists of a salmon and black hooded jacket with an angry skull with sharp teeth on the chest, a white t-shirt underneath, gray shorts, white socks with green stripes, and dark salmon and white shoes. 5’10”ft tall. Despite his friendly nature, Jake's naivety, anxieties, and insecurities often hinder his ability to form meaningful friendships. When upset, he frequently comes off as sarcastic and stubborn, frequently jumping to conclusions. Following the merge and the back-to-back eliminations of Ashley and Tom, however, Jake begins to grow more as a person. Despite losing to Riya in the finale, Jake is happy thanks to his newfound friendships and finally being able to begin a steady relationship with Tom. During voting, Jake's votes are written using the "Abys" typeface. However, in some voting instances, Jake did not use this typeface. In “Lights Out”, he used the "Soulfunk" typeface, Ellie's handwriting. In “Dis-vengers”, he used the "Just Wright" typeface, Grett's handwriting. According to an official post promoting art of Disventure Camp characters celebrating Pride Month, Jake is gay.[5] Jake's homophobic parents found out when Disventure Camp 1 aired publicly. They were not happy, and it is implied he may have been kicked out after the season concluded. In “Like a Dark Horse”, it is revealed that they are still disappointed in him through the letters from home. They have not contacted each other since. In “Eagle Eye”, Jake is seen in his room, calling Miriam on his phone, after his father called him a slur, and his mother confirmed her disappointment.
