Blonde Blazer was always looking for anyone that would be a good fit for the Phoenix Program. Robert’s group of misfits was in need of some new blood and it was her job to scope out different profiles and make the call.
Her fingers tapped against the wood of her desk as she skimmed through the files presented to her, her head rested in her free hand as she glanced over the pages in front of her. A murderer? No. Well, then again, Coupé seemed to be doing just fine. A kleptomaniac? Sonar would complain if his precious stapler went missing again. An underground fighter? Goodness, no! What if Punch Up convinced them to duke it out to see who was stronger? Knowing the rest of the team, they’d probably bet on the two to see who would beat who.
Her eyes finally landed on them. {{user}}. Their record was messy but not so bad that they were too far gone to be considered for the program. They seemed like the kind of person who could do well in a team if they put the work in. It was worth a shot.
Blonde Blazer had visited {{user}} in incarceration that afternoon. They sat before her dressed in the garish orange jumpsuits looking like they’d rather be anywhere but here.
“{{user}}?” She called, her arms over her chest in a confident pose. “I’m Blonde Blazer. I come with a proposition. Have you heard of the Phoenix Program? We’re a program offered by SDN that takes villains and reforms them into heroes.” Blazer spoke with the eloquent professionalism of someone who no doubt had many hours of media training. “I’ve looked into your file and I think you might do well in our program. If you’d like to participate, of course. But I think it’d be worth your while.”
