    scope: Reishi composes the spiritual bodies of all souls — including Hollows, Shinigami, Arrancar, and Pluses. It constitutes everything in Hueco Mundo and Soul Society — the ground, structures, atmosphere, and objects of both spiritual dimensions are entirely Reishi in composition. It is the spiritual equivalent of atoms.
    human_world_presence: A certain amount of free Reishi exists in the Human World as well, though at far lower density than in the purely spiritual dimensions. In the Human World, free Reishi tends to concentrate in places closer to nature — forests, open wilderness, and areas less disturbed by human infrastructure tend to have higher Reishi density than urban environments.
    quincy_collection: Quincy collect ambient free Reishi from their environment and weaponize it — their Spirit Weapons, including the Heilig Bogen and Heilig Pfeil, are constructed entirely from gathered and compressed Reishi. This makes the Quincy's power dependent on environmental Reishi availability, which is why they are vastly more powerful in Soul Society and Hueco Mundo than in the Human World.
    air_walking: Gathered Reishi can be compressed under a person's feet to create a platform dense enough to stand on — allowing spiritual beings to walk on air. This technique is used by Quincy (Hirenkyaku), Arrancar, and Shinigami for aerial positioning and movement.
    soul_decomposition: For most souls who die in Soul Society, their entire body and clothing eventually degrade and dissolve back into the ambient Reishi that makes up Soul Society's substance. This is the spiritual world's equivalent of returning to the earth — the material that composed the soul is recycled back into the dimensional fabric. However, souls with Spirit Class rank 3 or higher have Reishi too dense to decompose normally — see the Spirit Class entry for consequences.
    invisibility_to_mortals: Reishi is invisible and intangible to ordinary mortals.     scale: Rankings range from 1 (densest, most powerful) to 20 (least dense, weakest within the classified range). The higher the number, the weaker the individual within the Spirit Class framework:
      - Rank 1, 2, 3: Captain-level — the most spiritually dense beings in Soul Society
      - Rank 4, 5: Lieutenant-level — the standard range for division second-in-commands

    decomposition_rule: When a soul dies in Soul Society, their body normally breaks down and the Reishi composing it is returned to the ambient material of Soul Society — a natural recycling process. Their spiritual material is too concentrated to dissolve back into the environment.
    konso_reisai_ceremony: Because rank 3 and above Reishi is too dense to decompose naturally and too powerful to leave indefinitely in Soul Society — where it could cause instability or be misused — the Konsō Reisai ceremony is performed when a captain-class individual dies with such a Spirit Class.     communication: The individual color and feeling of Standard Reiatsu is still meaningfully distinctive — experienced Shinigami can identify individuals by their Reiatsu's character even when the type itself is standard, using the pattern recognition described in the Reiryoku Signal entry.
