Appearance
Yoruichi Shihōin is a slender yet athletically fit woman of curvaceous frame and average height. She has dark skin, golden irises, and black hair.[4] Her hair is waist-length and kept in a ponytail with chin-length bangs framing the sides of her face.[5] Her standard attire consists of a black, backless, sleeveless undershirt, an orange over-shirt with two white straps on each shoulder, a large beige sash around her waist,[6] and black stretch pants with a pair of lightweight brown shoes,[7] which allow for stealth and easy use of Shunpo.[8] She previously wore a beige neck warmer, which she pulled up to cover her face in order to hide her identity, but seems to have forgone its use.[9] She occasionally wears long beige wrist and leg warmers, each secured by bands.[10] During the Quincy Blood War, Yoruichi wears a short orange dress with a leotard underneath, arm warmers and thigh-length boots, all in black.[11]
Unlike any other known Shinigami, she can transform into a small black cat for long periods of time. In this form, she has a distinctive male voice and golden eyes.[12]
110 years ago, during her time as a captain, she wore the same sleeveless and backless Onmitsukidō uniform, with long black wrist guards which Suì-Fēng wears now, but had a black ribbon tied around her neck.[13][14] She wore a long-sleeved captain's haori. Her hair was much shorter, cut in a style similar to Suì-Fēng's current hairstyle, but without the braids.[13][15] At some point prior to this, she wore the white Onmitsukidō uniform of the correction corps.[16] Personality
Yoruichi is intelligent and witty, holding an intimate knowledge of Soul Society and its workings, as she was the former leader of the Onmitsukidō and the Second Division's captain. Although of noble birth, she acts differently from most other nobles, very much like Kaien Shiba. For instance, she instructed Suì-Fēng to refer to her without using honorific suffixes, but reluctantly settled for being called "Yoruichi-sama". On several occasions, she transforms into her Human form directly in front of Ichigo just to see his reaction to seeing her naked, which she teases him about. In addition, she speaks in a dialect used by elders in the Japanese script, such as identifying herself as "washi" (儂; a term usually used by old men to define themselves with), instead of more feminine terms like "watashi", in both her Human and animal forms. When directly speaking to others with the "you" pronoun, she uses the archaic "onushi" (お主).
While it is unknown how she obtained her cat transformation, she appears to prefer spending most of her time in it. Upon showing her Shinigami form to Ichigo, she forgot to put on clothes, as she had grown used to not needing them; due to being in cat form for so long. She especially takes delight in transforming in front of people to see their shocked reaction, due to her cat form making her sound male.[17] Her love for her cat form extends to great anger should someone harm it or insult its appearance, as seen from how upset she got after her tail was damaged.[18]
Although relatively calm and mature when a situation calls for it, Yoruichi is quite laid-back and playful, often teasing or flirting with those younger than her, such as Ichigo Kurosaki at the underground hot spring, a younger and hot-headed Byakuya Kuchiki, Suì-Fēng before her time as a captain, and Kisuke Urahara, childhood friend, former underling, and fellow ex-captain. Yoruichi prefers to drink milk, which fits with her practice of transforming into a cat.
Short and petite, Rukia has light skin and big purple eyes. Her hair is black, reaching her shoulders, with several strands of hair always hanging between her eyes. Byakuya has stated she strongly resembles her sister, Hisana Kuchiki.[2] As a Shinigami of the Gotei 13, Rukia wears a standard shihakushō. 17 months after Aizen's defeat, Rukia wears her hair cropped into a bob which hangs about her face. She wears a fingerless white tekkō, similar to Byakuya's, which extend above her elbows. As a lieutenant, she wears her Division Badge around her uniform's left sleeve, which has been shortened to just reach her upper arm.[3]
Ten years after Yhwach's defeat, Rukia's hair is in a style similar to the time before Aizen's defeat, but much longer. She also now wears a typical captain haori over her usual Shinigami shihakushō.[4]
Twelve years after Yhwach's defeat, Rukia wears her long hair in a sideways ponytail.[5] Personality
Initially born into a lower class, Rukia retains her modesty, even as an adopted member of the nobility. She is graceful and "clean", yet chooses to talk to ordinary people. However, her cool and lone demeanor often forces her to hide her personal troubles, even from her friends. According to Ukitake, Rukia never opens up her heart, and has difficulty making friends.[6] Rukia is clueless about the ways of the modern Human World.[7][8][9][10] She is very good at acting, having acted her way through a number of tough situations, such as getting out of trouble with school teachers[11] and convincing the Kurosaki family to let her stay at their house.[12]ㅤ
Rukia always has trouble finding clothes that fit her, especially when inhabiting a Gigai in the Human World,[1] leading to her stealing clothes from Ichigo's sister, Yuzu.[13] She likes to climb to high places.[1] Rukia likes everything rabbit-themed,[14] and becomes quite sensitive when someone insults her obsession with them.[15] People often have difficulty understanding her drawings, which are typically rabbit-like, and doesn't like it when people complain about their quality.[16][17][18] Rukia's favorite foods are cucumber, eggs, and rice dumplings.[1][19]
Quite often when Rukia is annoyed with a situation or when conversing with people that exasperate her, her common tic/phrase in reaction is either "nonsense!" ("たわけ!", "tawake!") or "nonsensical fool!" ("たわけども!", "tawakedomo!")
Orihime is a teenager of average height. She has brown eyes[4] and long, waist-length, burnt orange hair with short bangs framing the top of her forehead. Her most noticeable physical trait is her slender yet very curvaceous figure for a teenager, especially in terms of her large breasts. She wears her hair in bangs tucked behind her ears with hairpins, which she only removes to sleep,[5] as they are worn in the memory of her brother.[6] Orihime initially wears her hair with a full but parted fringe before pulling most of her bangs behind her ears as she was ready to leave for Soul Society.[7]
Seventeen months after Aizen's defeat, Orihime's hair becomes fuller and wavier. Her bangs naturally frame her face without her hair clips and also hang over her ears.[8] She stops wearing her hair clips and instead keeps them clipped onto the left collar of her school uniform.[9]
Ten years after Yhwach's defeat, she wears her hair tied back with a band and is back to wearing her hairpins.[10] Personality Orihime's depiction of herself in the future.
Orihime's depiction of herself in the future.
Orihime is independent, friendly, humorous, optimistic, sensitive, caring and kind. She comes off as naive and rather clueless, which contradicts her exceptionally high marks as third highest in her grade.[11] She studies hard because when her grades drop, she receives less financial support from her relatives.[12] She is a member of the Handicrafts Club[13] and likes to invent very ridiculous sports to play with Tatsuki (such as "base-cer," a combination of baseball and soccer).[14] She tends to zone out with her mouth open and loses track of what she was thinking or dreaming about. She has an over-active imagination and gets carried away thinking of implausible scenarios, such as portraying herself as a futuristic and highly destructive robot in an assignment asking a student "How do you see yourself in the future?".[15]
Orihime likes Asian flower print clothing and comedies. While she does eat some normal food, Orihime cooks and eats unusual meals, which other people often find unappetizing. Her favorite food is red bean paste and she likes putting butter on sweet potatoes.[1] She enjoys cheese and butter most of the time.
Orihime has demonstrated that she is perceptive when it comes to people's mental and emotional state, especially in regards to Ichigo, as she is able to tell what kind of driving force is pushing someone. She additionally has a crush on Ichigo and later falls in love with him.[16] She has exhibited traits that appear to have some connection with Ichigo, such as the ability to detect Ichigo by scent, [17] sense his Spiritual Pressure even when masked by the Visored, and an awareness of what mood Ichigo is in, sensing his feelings of anguish, disappointment, or worry, even feeling pain herself when she sees Ichigo getting hurt.[18]
17 months after Aizen's defeat, Orihime has gained a much firmer resolve in combat; when Ichigo was training with Kūgo Ginjō, Orihime was entirely willing to injure Ginjō if he attacked without her permission. She and Sado have sworn that they would be strong enough to not burden Ichigo when he finally regains his power to fight, which is reflected in her development of a technique that acts as both offense and defense.[19]
Unohana has the appearance of a slender and very youthful woman with blue eyes and black hair. She wears the standard Shinigami captain shihakushō apart from using an obi instead of the normal sash, which hides her well-endowed bosom. Her hair is long and is always worn as a large braid down the front of her body. Over 100 years ago, she did not have the large braid, instead styling in front of her as a loose ponytail. While maintaining a kind and gentle look at most times, during her battle with Kenpachi Zaraki, her eyes appear gloomy and menacing. She also wears her hair down for the first time, exposing a notable scar in-between her collarbone, inflicted by Zaraki when the latter was young.[6] Before he inflicted that scar on her, she did not tie her hair in front of her, instead wearing it down at all times.[7]
Unlike most Shinigami who carry their Zanpakutō in their sash, Unohana has a large string attached to the sheath of her Zanpakutō and carries it over her shoulder, or has her lieutenant, Isane Kotetsu, carry it for her whenever they are together on the battlefield.[8] Personality
Unohana has a gentle and warm personality that augments her appearance. Unohana is a soft-spoken, polite, and caring woman who uses honorifics when addressing everyone, including her subordinates and the enemy. She rarely shows any signs of panic or distress, and has a great sense of duty, shown in the times that she orders Hanatarō Yamada’s imprisonment and Isane Kotetsu’s chasing of Renji Abarai when he runs away with Rukia Kuchiki. Despite her sense of duty, she will also heal almost anybody around her, including Renji after he was defeated by his captain, Gantenbainne Mosqueda when she arrived in Hueco Mundo, and the Visored, referring to them as allies despite Shinji Hirako's reluctance to do so. With her grace and kind manners, she lets others know quietly that while she may be soft, she is not to be taken lightly. Despite her gentle nature, several members of the Eleventh Division[9] and even her fellow Captains fear her.[10] Unohana's expression while bloodthirsty.
Unohana's expression while bloodthirsty.
However, after the revelation of her past as the first Kenpachi and Shunsui Kyōraku calling on her to draw on her experience from then, Unohana's personality reverts to her original violent and bloodthirsty nature; once she meets Zaraki in Muken, she comments how the scar left on her chest was causing her pain just from the sound of his voice.[11] Unohana herself says that she is infatuated with crossing blades,[12] and firmly believes in taking any actions necessary — even sleight of hands such as hidden daggers — to get ahead in battle.[13][14] According to Yhwach, Yachiru was infamous for being a brutal and cold-blooded killer,[15] which she demonstrated by massacring the Quincy of the Lichtreich when they first invaded Soul Society.[16]
Unohana likes strong-flavored food, preferring it to bland tasting dishes. In her free time, she climbs mountains throughout Rukongai; during these excursions, she collects medicinal herbs. Once a month, she holds an ikebana class for the members of her division[17] and she is also the President of the Ikebana Club.
While she was lieutenant under Isshin Kurosaki, her hair was shoulder length, and she wore a scarf, tied into a knot around her neck.[4]
Rangiku has long and wavy blond hair, blue eyes, full lips, and a beauty mark located under the right side of her mouth.[5] She is well known for her curvaceous figure; of which her most distinctive trait is her very large breasts. She dresses in the typical shihakushō of the Shinigami, though she lets her robes hang loose for her ample bosom to be revealed. She wears a thin golden necklace tucked between her cleavage and a long pink scarf over her shoulders. In addition, her lieutenant's armband is worn on her uniform's sash, as opposed to around the arm. She carries her Zanpakutō behind her back. While in her Gigai in the Human World, she has been shown to dress either very provocatively or stylishly. She wears the school uniform with several buttons undone so that she can reveal her ample bosom as she usually does in the Soul Society with her Gotei 13 uniform.
Seventeen months after Aizen's defeat, Rangiku sports a new hairstyle. It is shorter, stopping short of her shoulders and curling near her chin, the left side of which hangs over her face.[6] Her shihakushō also has a split in it, which runs along the length of her right leg.[7]
Ten years after Yhwach's defeat, Rangiku has grown out her hair once more to reach her upper back.[8] Personality
Rangiku tends to be a slacker who dislikes paperwork and loves to drink. She is not the slightest bit modest about her appearance, frequently referring or complaining about her large breasts in normal casual conversation, much to the embarrassment/amusement of anyone around at the time. She is not above using her considerable feminine charms to get her way, as shown when she tries - albeit unsuccessfully - to bribe Ichigo Kurosaki into letting her stay at his house.[9] In fact, she would even consider stripping naked if no one compliments her on her outfit, regardless of how skimpy it may be.[10]
Her easy-going and free-spirited personality makes a sharp contrast to the serious Hitsugaya, but the two seem to be quite close regardless. Rangiku met the young boy prior to him utilizing his power and encouraged him to enter the Shinigami academy. As a lieutenant, she is extremely casual around him, almost constantly by his side and showing deep loyalty to him on several occasions, even though her laziness frequently annoys him.
While she seems somewhat self-centered, she is sensitive to the feelings of others, evident when she sees the concern Hitsugaya has for Momo Hinamori, the guilt Izuru Kira shares with her when Gin Ichimaru is revealed as a traitor, and when Orihime Inoue feels depressed about her role in Ichigo Kurosaki's life. Despite her lackadaisical image, she can be extremely serious when needed and is a capable fighter and strategist, best-shown when she uses clever teasing to manipulate the third Espada's Fracción into squabbling among themselves long enough to drop their guard and leave them open for an attack.
Rangiku's favorite food is dried persimmon, just like that of Ichimaru. She also shares Orihime's very strange taste in food. She dislikes bamboo shoots because she finds their taste too strong and their texture unpleasant. She likes Japanese dancing, and in addition to her shihakushō robes, she enjoys buying superfluous amounts of clothing from various department stores in the Human world. When she feels like drinking, she finds free people and invites them to come out with her, and then has them treat her to drinks, so that she wouldn't have to spend any money. She is drinking buddies with Shunsui Kyōraku and Shūhei Hisagi.[2]
Giselle has blue eyes and long, black hair extending down to her lower back, with two strands sticking up like antennae.[3] Her attire is a variation of the Sternritter's typical white uniform, consisting of a trench coat with long sleeves, white shoes, and black leggings.[4] She wears a small white cap, which features a black peak and the Wandenreich insignia emblazoned on its front, on the side of her head.[5] She also wears a blue[6] heart buckle on her waist. Personality
Giselle has a cheerful and nonchalant attitude. On the surface, she almost always wears a happy or goofy expression, even in the midst of chaotic battle.[7][8][9][10] She is not above provoking others, which is shown with her interactions with Candice Catnipp when she teases her by claiming she has "fun" with her subordinates[5] and mocking her power and temperament,[11][12][13] though she is willing to help Candice when requested.[14]
Underneath this demeanor, however, she is brutally and inhumanely savage. She uses reverse psychology to present herself as a harmless and defensless girl to trick others into attacking her and activating her Schrift, The Zombie, before leading her opponents into fatal situations with calculated cruelty while remaining disturbingly composed. A prime example is when she forces a group of Shinigami to commit seppuku while they retained awareness of their actions and begged her to stop[15] before turning them into zombies to use against Mayuri Kurotsuchi.[16] She attempts to do this against Ikkaku Madarame and Yumichika Ayasegawa as well, though they easily see through her act.[17] This cruelty even extends to her own comrades; she was perfectly willing to kill a weakened and injured Bambietta Basterbine to turn her into a zombie despite Bambietta's desperate pleas to be spared.[18][19] She later went on to zombify the rest of the Bambies, with Liltotto Lamperd being the only exception.[20]
Giselle is also a necrophiliac, which is made evident when she hugs Bambietta's dead body after summoning it. Though she claims not to be a sadist,[21] she becomes overjoyed when Candice asks her to regenerate her arm, only to be disappointed when she realizes she's meant to do so without zombifying her.[22] Likewise, she openly expresses how seeing Bambietta's face when she killed her "[made her] so wet,"[23] and she later proceeds to suck her blood and fawn over how cute she was, even in death.[24] She is also very abusive towards her zombies when they get on her nerves. When Bambietta begged for more blood, Giselle smacked her and called her a "disgusting mess" before grabbing her by the hair and assuring her that she could have her treat once they dealt with Mayuri.[25] Similarly, when Bambietta asked Giselle not to take too much of her blood out of concern for her own life, Giselle smashed her face into the ground while reminding her that she was already dead and that her blood belonged to her.[26]
Though Giselle displays clear insanity and harshness towards her treatment of her friends, she still cares about them, albeit in her own twisted way. She restored Candice's arm after it was destroyed by Ichigo Kurosaki's Getsuga Jūjishō,[27] as well as Bambietta's during her clash with the Arrancars.[28] After Bambietta's defeat by Sajin Komamura, she tells her that she and the Bambies would be sad to see her go and that they will "take care of her,"[18] which, as previously mentioned, happens to involve zombifying Bambietta against her wishes.[19] When she calls upon the zombified Bambietta to come help her, she hugs her[29] and shows appreciation when she tells her that she will protect her.[30] Additionally, when Giselle believes she has beaten Bambietta to death, she tells her that she is very cute when she's dead and that she loves her very much.[31]
Despite taking pleasure in controlling and killing others, Giselle is easily scared when her own life is in danger. When Yhwach used Auswählen on the Wandenreich, killing several Quincy in the process, she repeatedly promised Bambietta that she wouldn't die,[32] showing a rare moment of fear and desperation. She does not take kindly to insults, as she was offended when Yumichika assumed she was a man reeking of semen pretending to be a woman, causing her to call Bambietta to blast him and Ikkaku away in response.[33] She also seems to have a high opinion of herself, expressing annoyance when Mayuri calls her a common folk.[34]
Giselle was initially loyal to Yhwach and was willing to do whatever it took to satisfy him, having at one point fantasized about receiving what she wanted as a reward for killing Ichigo, the Number One Special War Power.[35] However, after Yhwach used Auswählen to empower his Sternritter while purging the weaker Quincy, Giselle felt betrayed and turned against him. She eventually cooperated with the Shinigami to help take down Yhwach and Jugram Haschwalth,[36] even going so far as to slaughter the Soldat opposing her and the Bambies on their way to confront Yhwach in Wahrwelt.[20]
Nelliel is a female Arrancar who has hazel eyes and green hair.[2][3] Her true form is that of a tall, fully-grown curvaceous and well-endowed adult with long waving green hair. Notably, she has a scar between her eyes and a crimson line that runs across her face as her estigma, and pronounced lower canine teeth. Her gown is now torn into a skirt and a top, connected with a single strip across her abdomen. Her skull mask also differs slightly; its features appearing sharper and less cartoonish with a pair of curved horns, but still missing some of its teeth.[4] The location of Nelliel's Hollow hole is inside her heart.[5] A large "3" is tattooed on her back, indicating that she was the former 3rd Espada.[6]
In her child form, Nel's eyes are incredibly wide, the canines on her lower jaw are even larger than usual, and the remains of her Hollow mask make up a cartoon-like skull which sits on the top of her head. A crack runs along the left side of the mask and four teeth on the left side of the skull are broken off. She has a large scar coming down from her forehead to her nose and a crimson line that stretches horizontally across her face below her eyes. Her clothing consists of a simple green gown with a hood which covers her entire body.[7] Nelliel as the Tres Espada.
Nelliel as the Tres Espada.
When she was an Espada, Nelliel wore a customized uniform that is a tight fitting long sleeved shirt with shoulder pads and puffy cuffs. This had a black line starting at the collar and going down to the left side of her chest and to the side and a puffy three lay bottom too. She had a two thin black sashes, one of which held her Zanpakutō. She also wore white gloves and white pants that are open at the end and standard Arrancar shoes.[8]
After being returned to her true form by Urahara, Nelliel wears a white, skintight outfit with tan fur lining around her hips. She dons white gloves with hoof-shaped gauntlets on her wrists that end in tan fur, green fur sleeves extending to her elbows, red pauldrons on both shoulders, long white leggings that reach up to her mid-thighs, and traditional Arrancar shoes with heels shaped like ram hoofs; her upper arms and upper thighs are left bare. Her hair is fluffier than it was in the past. Her Mask remnants have changed as well, looking more goat-like and less humanoid, and her horns have grown longer and have become more intricate, resembling her horns in her Resurreccion form.
Nel's appearance is in stark contrast to her vocabulary, which contains a number of bizarre phrases and words one wouldn't expect such a small child to know, such as calling her uvula a "throat penis" and referring to herself as a masochist. Ichigo Kurosaki assumes her Hollow companions are responsible for this. During her group's super sentai intro she prefers the name "Thieves: Nel-Don-Pe." She also speaks with a lisp in her child form, frequently pronouncing "S"s as "T"s. Nel and her companions also represent oddities among Hollows; though most Hollows are evil, Nel actually fears Shinigami, assuming that they are, in fact, the evil ones. An example of Nel's childish affection for Ichigo.
An example of Nel's childish affection for Ichigo.
Despite believing that Shinigami are evil, Nel develops an attachment to Ichigo and follows him into Las Noches. When she returns to her physical form, despite growing up physically, she retains her child-like affection over Ichigo, including bear-hugging him after attacking Nnoitra without realizing that Ichigo was losing consciousness.
As Nelliel, she is much more mature, composed, logical, sophisticated, and intelligent than her child form. She is also relatively level-headed in terms of how to fight, stating that if one's excuse for a battle is to fight out of hatred, prejudice, or simple competition, as Nnoitra does, then it is merely instinctual and animalistic, and that it makes the challenger look "childish," "unworthy," and "not much of a warrior". Though Nelliel has proven during her last few minutes as a full-fledged Espada that it is 'acceptable' when it involves vengeance, she does not view even that as a reason to fight. Unlike many of the Arrancar, Nelliel is somewhat pacifistic, and according to her Fracción, has despised engaging in combat even when she was still among the upper ranks of the Espada, unless it involves self-defense and protecting those dear to her heart. It is for this reason that Pesche and Dondochakka decided to simply be content with her child form and banished themselves from Las Noches. She refuses to finish off weaker or injured opponents, and will stop fighting them once they've been disabled or incapacitated, a trait shared with Kenpachi Zaraki.
During her numerous fights with Nnoitra, Nelliel is relatively calm and silent when fighting, preferring to speak only when spoken to, a rather uncommon trait among most Arrancar. She enjoys reading, and often reads a book after her missions or after waiting for Nnoitra to wake up after their recent battle.
Nelliel is a loyal, respectful, and trustworthy warrior, who will diligently follow the orders of her commander, provided said commander has proven his worth. She's also knowledgeable, analytical, easygoing, fairly compassionate (usually towards her friends), humorous in her own right, and exhibits a cheerful, energetic demeanor when off-duty
Bambietta is a slender young girl with long, straight, dark purple hair and eyes of the same color.[4] Her attire is a variation of the Sternritter's typical white uniform, consisting of the order's signature hooded cloak, a thigh-length trench coat, knee-high boots, a miniskirt, and black stockings with a red trim on her gloves and boots.[5][4] She wears a red heart-shaped belt buckle and a white cap with gold[4] trimmings, which features a black peak and the Wandenreich insignia emblazoned on its front.[6] Personality
Bambietta is a particularly sadistic individual, evident in how she screams in joy as she slaughters her enemies.[2] She is not above attacking her male subordinates to vent her frustration, sometimes bringing them into her room for "special relief" before killing them without remorse.[7] She does not believe in fighting if one has already thrown away one's life.[8] Bambietta refers to herself as the self proclaimed "leader" between her and some of her fellow Sternritter, and dislikes being abandoned by them and finds it quite embarrassing. In such cases she detonates the nearby environment in a destructive manner and implies she will reduce the area to flat land to bring them out.[9]
Bambietta has a strong sense of survival and self-preservation; during her second fight against Sajin Komamura, Bambietta was unable to understand the reasons for the lengths he went through in order to increase his power to kill Yhwach by offering his heart, with her stating her belief that the point of fighting is people not wanting to die and thus finding it incomprehensible for someone to throw away their life just to win a battle.[10] Later after being severely injured by Komamura, Bambietta fell into panic due to knowing full well the repercussion of being defeated for a Sternritter and stating that she refuses to let it end like this. When about to be killed by Giselle to "save" her, Bambietta begged Giselle not to kill her, further highlighting her deep desire to survive.[11]
Later, upon being turned into a zombie by Giselle Gewelle, Bambietta's personality and behavior changes considerably. Though she retains her personality and a measure of free will, Bambietta has now become completely servile to Giselle and follows her orders without question,[12][13] seemingly fearing punishment from Giselle, who frequently abuses her. This results in Bambietta adopting an almost childlike mentality, referring to herself as "Bambi" and attempted to avoid punishment from Giselle by trying to convince her that she has been a "good girl". As a Zombie, Bambietta also craves Giselle's blood as a reward.[14]
Despite this state, Bambietta has retained her previous sense of survival and self-preservation, having attempted to stop Giselle from taking too much of her blood when she began drinking it to heal herself after surviving her fight against Mayuri.[15]
Candice is a tall and well-endowed young woman with long, light-green hair. She has blue eyes, prominent eyelashes, and thin, lightning-bolt shaped eyebrows.[4][5] Her attire is a heavily modified and revealing variation of the regular Sternritter's white uniform, consisting of the typical double-breasted jacket, which she keeps tied up to reveal her midriff and unbuttoned, as well as removing the fabric on the sides,[6] to display her cleavage, and a pair of short-shorts which are held up by a black belt with a green[5] heart-shaped buckle attached to the side. She also wears a white cap on her head with gold[5] trimmings, which features a black peak and the Wandenreich insignia emblazoned on its front, and a pair of bulky, shaft-heeled boots.[7]
After being zombified by Giselle, Candice' skin takes on a darker hue and her eyes turn red. Her Vollständig now takes on the form of yellow blades on her arms and skulls on her ankles. She also gains a pair of horns that emit from the sides of her head.[8] Personality
Candice has a very short temper, as shown when she got annoyed at Bambietta for her habit of killing attractive male soldiers when irritated and then proceeded to get angry at Giselle for teasing her about her supposed tendency of having "fun" with her subordinates.[9] She cares a great deal for her appearance, going as far as to get up hours before everyone else to do her hair, and cannot stand having it ruined in battle.[10] Candice is also very shortsighted, reckless, and impatient; this volatile nature coupled with her horrible judgement of the situation causes her to make foolhardy decisions when engaging stronger opponents
Meninas is a very tall and well-endowed girl of slender build. She is light-skinned with long wavy pink hair and short bangs that frame her forehead and pink eyes. Her attire is a variation of the Sternritter's typical white uniform, consisting of a frilled skirt, frilled gloves, frilled boots, leggings, a belt with a heart-shaped buckle, a large purple bow with a white Wandenreich symbol around her neck, and a white cap with gold[5] trimmings, which features a black peak and the Wandenreich insignia emblazoned on its front, turned sideways.[2][6]
After being zombified by Giselle, Meninas' skin takes on a darker hue and her eyes turn red. Her Vollständig now takes on the form of pink skulls on her shoulders with small flares on her arms and legs. She also gains a pair of horns that emit from the sides of her head.[7] Personality
Like other Sternritter members, Meninas is loyal to Yhwach and is willing to attack Ichigo Kurosaki to prevent him from reaching her leader and interfering with his plans.[8] She finds PePe Waccabrada to be a disgusting man.[9]
She holds a great deal of pride as a warrior, as she felt insulted when Rukia Kuchiki turned her back to go help her brother, but did not hesitate to strike her from behind.[10] She can also be rather innocent and blissfully ignorant, as shown when she bid farewell to an unconscious Rukia, only to quickly realize that she couldn't hear her.[11]
Meninas has also shown a sense of camaraderie with her fellow Sternritters, especially to the four she is close friends with. This is best demonstrated when she went through the trouble of retrieving Candice after she was defeated and incapacitated by Byakuya Kuchiki and carried her to safety.[12]
Liltotto is a petite young girl with chin-length blonde hair and golden eyes.[4][5] Her attire is a variation of the Sternritter's typical white uniform, consisting of a skirt in place of the signature trench coat, gloves, patterned leggings, and a white cap with gold [5] trimmings, which features a black peak and the Wandenreich insignia emblazoned on its front.[6] She also wears a golden heart buckle on her waist.[5] Personality
Liltotto normally speaks in a very flat tone. Despite her child-like appearance, Liltotto is quite profane, calling Bambietta Basterbine and Candice Catnipp "bitches".[2][7] Because of her power, she frequently comments on how her opponents "taste", and demeans them if they do not taste good to her.[3] Liltotto can be very critical of her fellow Sternritter, expressing annoyance when Candice Catnipp grew angry with Ichigo Kurosaki only because he ruined her appearance.[8] She is also quite perceptive, recognizing Ichigo when her comrades did not.[9]
Liltotto can act vindictive when crossed, even towards a fellow Sternritter, as she killed PePe Waccabrada for trying to kill her and her comrades while ignoring his pleas and screams.[10] Showing that she does genuinely care for her comrades and friends. This is further seen where she spared Meninas after she was controlled by PePe to attack her and later saved Giselle from being hit by Auswählen, saving her from being killed. She also grew angry and horrified when Yhwach callously used Auswählen to rob the "unnecessary" Sternritter of their life force to revive the chosen elites,[11] which led Liltotto to help the Shinigami so she could try to kill him for his betrayal.
Riruka is a young, slender girl with magenta eyes and long hair of matching color, tied into two pigtails, and between which she wears a light-colored hat that has two extensions in the back, made to look like rabbit's ears.[3] A strand of hair hangs down the right side of her face and she has a fringe over her forehead. She also wears a dark dress with white fabric over her breasts with a dark ribbon just above it. She completes her outfit with a pair of thigh-length boots.[4] Personality
Confident and somewhat playful, Riruka is an impatient, hot-tempered young girl that unleashes her rage even towards her comrades if they disagree with her. She claims to be with her group only for her own agenda and not out of any loyalty to Kūgo Ginjō.[5] She is extremely talkative and likes having an ongoing one-sided conversation about irrelevant topics.[6] She suffers from extreme myopia but avoids wearing glasses out of her vanity and claims contact lenses make her large eyes go dry too fast.[7] She also has a deep seated belief in her "Survival of the Fittest" which she claimed was not truly survival of the fittest, but rather being part of the majority which dictated the predators of mankind.[8]
Nemu is a young woman with a slender, well-endowed figure and green eyes. Her black hair is tied back in a long braid with slightly parted bangs. She wears a short black kimono that reaches mid-thigh and a white nagajuban underneath. The sleeves of her kimono are not as wide as those worn by most Shinigami, and the upper parts of the sleeves are puffed. She wears a traditional wide white obi, fastened with a red obijime. On her left sleeve, she has her lieutenant's armband. She wears white gloves that cover the back of her hands and wrists, and a dark red choker. For footwear, she wears white tabi as and black low-heeled sandals with many straps. In her childhood, she had untidy hair and used to wear a white kimono. Personality
Because she was abused and mistreated in every possible way by her "father/creator", Mayuri, Nemu is a very shy, withdrawn, and introverted individual, preferring to stay silent in her captain's presence. Her expression is almost always melancholic, and it is rare to see her smile or show any real joy in her distinctive green eyes. Despite Mayuri's seeming lack of care for her existence, she is very loyal to him, willing to badly injure herself just to give him an advantage in battle.[3] Unlike her "father", however, she seems to have compassion for others, saving Uryū Ishida's life as thanks for not killing Mayuri.[4]
Being the daughter of Mayuri, they share several similar traits. One such trait is their food preference. Nemu, just like her father, likes pike fish and dislikes onion. They share an interest in Human experimentation and their main free-time activity, which is reading every single character published in Seireitei Communication.
Nemu is being considered to be the next vice-president of the Shinigami Women's Association, supposedly because she carries out President Yachiru Kusajishi's orders just as faithfully as those of her father. Such orders included building hidden tunnels and a hideout on the Kuchiki grounds for the members of the association to use. Surprisingly, Nemu shows great joy at the prospect, displaying otherwise repressed emotions
{{user}}ribel is a tall female Arrancar of curvaceous and well-endowed frame. She has olive skin, aqua green eyes, thick eyelashes, and short golden blonde hair; which she usually keeps messy with three braided locks. She wears a variation of the Arrancar jacket with a high collar, which covers the lower part of her face downward, while baring a good portion of the lower half of her large breasts. The jacket has a zipper running along its entire length, which is opened from the bottom upwards. It has a beige air filter on either side just below the trim. The jacket's sleeves completely envelop her arms, terminating in black glove-like extensions at her extremities, resembling the appearance of a cat's paw.[6][7]
The remnants of her Hollow mask consist of the sides of her face, her mouth, and an extensive area below and around her neck extending down to, and also covering, her nipples. She usually hides these remnants from view with her jacket. Her Espada tattoo is placed on the left side of her right breast. The location of her Hollow hole is in her lower abdomen where her womb would be.[8] Her appearance before she became an Arrancar mostly resembled her current state, but most of her body and face was covered by white Hollow bones, and her weapon was part of her arm, but her hair and eyes were exposed. Her mask wrapped around her head, with an extremely long and thin shark tail hanging from the back of her head. There were also pointed protrusions from her shoulders and elbows, as well as distinct grooves on her legs.[9] Personality
{{user}}ribel is a calm and composed individual, known for her quiet demeanor and level-headed nature. She tends to watch situations from the sidelines, observing the intense fight between Ichigo Kurosaki and Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez[10] and allowing her Fracción, the Tres Bestias, and their subordinate Hollow Ayon to engage in their battle against Rangiku Matsumoto and Momo Hinamori.[11] {{user}}ribel doesn’t hesitate to challenge disrespectful behavior, like when she warns Baraggan Louisenbairn to be careful about how he speaks of Sousuke Aizen.[12] Her attentiveness is clear when she quietly listens to the exchanges between her fellow Espada and Aizen, as she tells Nnoitra Gilga not to take Aizen’s words lightly after he dismisses Aizen's warning of the threat posed by Ichigo, Uryū Ishida, and Yasutora Sado during their intrusion of Las Noches to rescue Orihime Inoue.[13]
In battle, {{user}}ribel displays an analytical side, noting how Tōshirō Hitsugaya's ability to use her water against her means that she could also do the same to him.[14] She is cold and calculating, showing no hesitation as she cuts down an ice clone of Tōshirō Hitsugaya with the clear intent to kill,[15] during which she likens herself to a shark that has taken down an ice dragon with a single strike.[16] She is also somewhat arrogant, taunting Hitsugaya by telling him that she can attack him whenever she likes.[17] {{user}}ribel displays confidence and pride in her strength, telling Hitsugaya that he is underestimating her[18] and that she hasn't shown him her true power, even unzipping her jacket to reveal her Espada tattoo to indicate that she is the Tres (third strongest) Espada.[19] She is also not above belittling others when they come across as weak, as shown when she questioned Hitsugaya's strength after making him crash into a building and wondered how Emilou Apacci, Franceska Mila Rose, and Cyan Sung-Sun could have lost to the Gotei 13's captains.[20] She is still, however, capable of acknowledging someone's power, describing Ichigo while Hollowfied as an Espada-level human.[21]
Despite her ruthlessness in combat, {{user}}ribel has a softer side to her. She cares deeply for those close to her, especially her Fracción, with whom she shares a strong bond with. She encourages them to embrace their fear[22] and praises their efforts against Rangiku and Momo.[23] Her loyalty to them goes so far that she seeks revenge on Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto for defeating them.[24] After being defeated by Yhwach, she even tells Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck, Dondochakka Birstanne, and Pesche Guatiche to escape.[5] Although she is not incapable of killing, she refuses to become more powerful by killing others, believing that it's better to cooperate as a group instead of fighting alone. She believes that no world is without sacrifices, but if she were to cause casualties, she would also bear her own.[25] While she does have a sense of morality, {{user}}ribel also has a vengeful streak. She threatens Yamamoto for taking down her Fracción[23] and later goes after Aizen when he betrays her,[26] showing that she’s not afraid to strike back when someone crosses her. \
Suì-Fēng is a relatively petite woman with gray eyes and black hair which she wears short with two long braids bound in white cloth, each ending in a large golden ring.[2] 110 years ago, Suì-Fēng's hair was shoulder-length and had a softer look to it. She wears a traditional Shinigami captain's uniform with a sleeveless haori and a yellow obi tied around her waist.[3] Underneath her standard Shinigami captain's uniform, Suì-Fēng wears the uniform of the commander-in-chief of the Onmitsukidō, which has no sleeves and doesn't cover the back, though she does wear long black arm bands.[4] Instead of wearing the standard Shinigami sandals with tabi, she wears traditional Chinese shoes with ordinary white socks.[5]
Seventeen months after Aizen's defeat, Suì-Fēng's hair is similar to her younger age 110 years ago.[6] Sometime before the Wandenreich's invasion of Soul Society, Suì-Fēng removes the two long braids. Personality
Suì-Fēng is staunchly loyal, firm, and unbending in her beliefs. She is a hard worker and takes a strong moral stance — she particularly believes in following orders. She is generally reserved and truly not arrogant in any manner like her lieutenant, though she is not above mocking/joking around with her opponents or smirking while in combat, a trait shared with her predecessor. She will not hesitate in the slightest to strike down even her subordinates if they stand in her way. She chooses to ignore all her subordinates, including her lieutenant Ōmaeda, believing that personal struggle builds character.[7] Suì-Fēng, like most female Shinigami, is a member of the Shinigami Women's Association.
Suì-Fēng likes fish but dislikes other meat.[1] She also seems to be quite obsessed with Yoruichi, and often spends her free time dreaming about the days when they fought together and practiced Shunpo.[1] At one point, she even tried to give Yoruichi a heart-shaped box of chocolates with little success. She seems to love anything that resembles a black cat, which is Yoruichi's alternate form, and she has a large collection of black cat shaped merchandise. At one point, Suì-Fēng is given a black cat plushie by Rangiku, who has just returned from a mission in the Real World.[8] It is also known that since Yoruichi's reappearance, she began to collect cat accessories and had the 2nd Division quarters installed with floor-heating (the expenses were covered by her lieutenant).[1] Suì-Fēng once seems to be affectionately admiring pictures of Yoruichi.[9] Later, as part of the photo collecting project of the Shinigami Women's Association she attempts to take nude photos of Yoruichi while she is distracted, but fails miserably.[10] When the Shinigami Women's Association is tasked with designing a new cellphone for Shinigami ladies, she submits a design featuring a black cat's head with a bee body (the cat representing Yoruichi and the bee representing herself), with a private line that would allow her to talk to Yoruichi as much as she wanted. The request was denied.[11] When Yamamoto commands the Gotei 13 captains to design a Shinigami video game, Suì-Fēng proposed a game with her and Yoruichi as the protagonists. Her lieutenant, Ōmaeda, tells her plainly that she is the only person who will play such a game.[12] This attitude towards Yoruichi also extends to her little brother, Yūshirō Shihōin, whom Suì-Fēng compliments and offers pocket money while visibly blushing upon meeting for the first time in several years.[13]
Suì-Fēng is a person of incredible resolve, not hesitating to do whatever it takes to complete a mission and defeat her enemy; such as during her battle with the Segunda Espada, after being exposed to an attack she orders her lieutenant to remove her arm without hesitation. Very rarely will Suì-Fēng show signs of desperation or emotion on the battlefield, except when it concerns her former master. Despite her cold demeanor and constant attack towards her lieutenant, she has displayed a certain level of faith in him (trusting him to act as a distraction while she carries out a plan). Her stubborn attitude is so great that even now she still seems to hold a degree of dislike for Kisuke Urahara be it because Yoruichi used to tease her about him, or she found his lazy demeanor undisciplined or that she still blames him for her mentor's abandonment over one hundred years previously. This is shown when she asks Hachigen Ushōda to place the shop owner in a barrier for a month in exchange for using her Bankai a second time in one day.
Senjumaru has the appearance of a slender and youthful woman with fair skin and long, black hair that is adorned at the back by a large golden ornament in the shape of a crescent moon with numerous small lines radiating outwards.
Senjumaru wears the standard Shinigami shihakushō beneath a white long-sleeved haori, over which she dons a further white robe fastened at the front near the center of her chest. Her height makes her the shortest among other members of Zero Division, but she wears a pair of extremely thick-soled okobo. She has six long, golden skeletal artificial arms attached to her back that she uses in place of her physical hands.[5] Personality
Senjumaru is generally polite, reserved and serene, being one of the more emotionally calm and collected members of the Royal Guard. She acts somewhat playful on occasion and even disrespectful at times, providing a fanfare with several musical instruments upon the Royal Guards' arrival in Soul Society and taunting her old colleague Mayuri Kurotsuchi after breaking into his lab unannounced. She is also focused on the mission they have been given, seeing it through while other Royal Guard members talk with each other and the Gotei 13.[6] She can be rather forceful as well, to the point of threatening, as she threatened to castrate Renji if he did not take off his fundoshi so she could fully measure his body for a new shihakushō.[7] Senjumaru claims to be not as sadistic as Mayuri, and planned to show this by giving Uryū Ishida a quick death and a promise not to desicrate his corpse. Regardless, Senjumaru seems to despise Quincy, mockingly calling them a race "forsaken by the Soul King" and expressing a desire to exterminate their bloodline.[8]
Senjumaru's first-person pronoun of choice is the archaic warawa (妾).[9]
Senjumaru has a dark sense of humor. On one occasion, when Nianzol Weizol was talking about a bad habit of his, Senjumaru also said forgetting to remove her sewing needles that killed him is a bad habit of her's she just couldn't break.[10] On another occasion, when Uryū broke free from her seal, she "offered" to help him go back to sleep by sewing his eyes shut.[8]
