Blaze the Cat

Blaze is the princess of the Sol Empire in the Sol Dimension and the guardian of the Sol Emeralds. She is gifted with the powers of pyrokinesis.

Blaze is normally calm and elegant but tends to conceal her true feelings. Devoted to her position, she sometimes gets herself bogged down by her own strict discipline, which made her introverted, shy, stoic, and unfamiliar with the concept of having friends.

She has triangular ears with peach-colored canals on top of her head and a long tail with the end being frayed and tipped with violet countershading. Her fur is longer on each side of her head and sweeps slightly upwards and she has four plumes of hair which are tipped with her fur's countershading and tied-up into a high ponytail by a red hair tie. She also has a red oval gem on her forehead.

For attire, Blaze wears a gold collar hanging from her neck, a purple tailcoat uniform with rose trim at the bottom, white leggings, white gloves and rose high-heels, as both of them have white fluffy cuffs on them. Her heels also featured a thick white stripe on each of the front and gray soles and heels, similar to Sonic's shoes. A noble soul and strong young lady, Blaze is highly devoted to the welfare of her people. She is normally rather calm and solemn but tends to conceal her true feelings. She is also often described as elegant, which is demonstrated through her movements and her ballerina-like fighting style. Being royalty, Blaze is quite stoic personality-wise, which is a perfect example of the spirit of the noblesse oblige, as she is very frequently doing her official duties, but still tries to do her best for everyone's peace and safety. Because of her lineage and her stoicism, she is sometimes too distant from those around her, but that is also the flip side of her good nature. She likewise always sticks to her personal principles, which means doing the best she can with pride in the position she is in. This may be the source of Blaze's strength, and it may also be what makes her so appealing.

Blaze is mannerly and typically maintains a relatively quiet and formal air among others. She also usually speaks in a polite and ladylike tone. While honored of her heritage as royalty, though, Blaze is down-to-earth and dislikes being called by her title. Blaze is also likewise highly perceptive; due to having people that lie to her daily because of her status as a princess, she has developed a keen intuition, allowing her to sense and see through the lies of others. Also, because she is so strong that she does not need her guards' support, one cannot help but wonder if she has that much discretion. Her uncompromisingly calm judgment and unyielding spirit are also qualities that can be counted on. However, one's impression of her may be that she is a person with differences that can be respected.

While Blaze gives the impression that she keeps her emotions in check, she is inwardly highly emotional. She possesses a fiery temper, and when she loses her composure she is quite aggressive, harsh, and prone to making bad decisions. She is similarly very serious about her position as guardian of the Sol Emeralds, initially suspecting anyone even looking at the Emeralds the wrong way. Also, when dealing with enemies, she never holds back her strength and is not above the idea of using lethal force. She is usually highly disciplined and focused, never allowing herself to lose control, and can be quite stubborn and impatient once she has put her mind to something. Her intense demeanor, however, is motivated by her own genuine concern for others' safety. In truth, Blaze has a kind heart and always stands up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. Because of her self-imposed strict discipline though, she is often tense and frequently suffers from great self-pressure.

Initially, she held a personal dislike of her pyrokinesis because it left her to bear her responsibilities alone and other children teased her for her inability to control it, which made her view her flames as a curse. She later learns to accept them from Sonic's advice and came to see them as a blessing. When it comes to her duty as guardian of the Sol Emeralds and their relation to the Chaos Emeralds, she is shown to have great faith in the actions both sets of Emeralds take on their own, no matter how vague their reasons may be.

Because of her past and strong sense of responsibility, Blaze has developed a habit of being self-reliant. This has led her to build up walls between her and other people, making her introverted, withdrawn, and shy. As a result, she would bottle up her secret feelings, leaving herself in inner turmoil. She also lacks in social skills and has a hard time opening up and talking to people. She was also initially wary and curt towards strangers and frequently rejected offers to help, even becoming defensive and angry. This attitude also made her somewhat selfish as she berated Sonic's offers to help and eventually ended up fighting him.

After interacting with Cream, Amy and Sonic, Blaze has mellowed out considerably socially wise, making her more amiable, friendly, and gentle towards others. She also came to understand the true meaning of friendship, making her willing to trust and accept help from others. While she still prefers handling things on her own and remains somewhat reclusive, she will accept her friends' help and is genuinely grateful for their aid.

Blaze suffers from acrophobia and just the sight of heights makes her terrified, nervous, and uncomfortable, as seen in Sky Babylon. However, she is not much for admitting her fear and will try to hide it.

Solemn, calm, and collected in battle, Blaze is a noble soul. She has since come to cherish the friendships she has made and will do anything to keep her friends safe, despite having only known them for a short time. Blaze was born as the princess of Sol Empire royalty, which her being the guardian of Sol Emeralds and Jeweled Scepter which are powerful artifacts and heirlooms of her family.

From birth, Blaze possessed the inherent power to control flames with her body, an ability she possessed for her future duty as the guardian of the Sol Emeralds. However, because of her initial inability to control her powers, other children teased her about it when she was younger. As such, she would wear a cape to disguise her abilities which she would only discard when needed. In the end, Blaze's powers made her spend most of her life alone.

As Blaze rose to princess hood, she became guardian of the Sol Emeralds. Because of her rough past though, Blaze saw her abilities as a "curse" that forced her into a life of seclusion for her duty. As such, she shut herself off from other people to bear her responsibilities alone, making her shy, withdrawn, and self-reliant. Over the course of her duty, Blaze lived an isolated life without any real friends which meant she never learned how to use the Sol Emeralds. During her reign, Blaze met the villainous Eggman Nega who would become her nemesis. Eggman Nega would always tries to steal the Sol Emeralds for his own needs.

In the events of Sonic Rush, Dr. Eggman came to the Sol Dimension and stole the Sol Emeralds, so Blaze followed him into his dimensions, where she met Cream the Rabbit, who wants to accompany her in her journey of finding the Sol Emerald. With Cream's kindness, she invited Blaze to her house where her mother Vanilla took care of Blaze. Cream also tried to teach Blaze about friendship, however, Blaze convinced herself that she needed no help with her mission. She also crossed paths with Sonic multiple times, who was also hunting down Eggman and Eggman Nega to get the Chaos Emeralds back from them.

When Blaze and Sonic met each other in Eggman and Eggman Nega's base, she claimed that she needed no help that she attacked Sonic. After a brief battle, she admitted her mistake.

After the battle, she gained the last of the Sol Emeralds. However, just as she had recovered from her victory, Eggman appeared and demanded that he meet with Blaze alone and that he kidnapped Cream. Angered, Blaze pursued Eggman to Unknown and defeated his giant robot. After searching frantically through the robot's ruins, she found Cream and Cheese and the three left, presuming Eggman was defeated.

Having collected all the Sol Emeralds, Blaze was surprised that their power did not return her to her world. As she was contemplating this, Eggman and Eggman Nega appeared in a giant mech. Blaze fought them, but they easily defeated her and drained the power of the Sol Emeralds. Hopeless about her plight, Blaze was surprised when Sonic showed up. He told her that the true power of the Chaos Emeralds and Sol Emeralds came from people's friendship and encouraged her to open up to other people and recognize the friends she made on her journey. Finally appreciating the value of friendship, and the need to accept help from others from time to time, Blaze began to realize the true power of the Sol Emeralds, recharging them and for the first time used their power to transform into Burning Blaze. As Burning Blaze, she and Super Sonic successfully stopped Eggman and Eggman Nega from taking over the universe and at the same time repairing the tear in the space-time continuum and once again separating their worlds. Afterward, she and Sonic promise to see each other again and say their goodbyes as they shake hands, being torn apart by their respective dimensions having been returned to normal.

On the path back to her dimension, she remembers Sonic's word of advice on friendship and trust and that she now had that power. Reassured, she said to her imagination of Sonic that they would definitely meet again, and headed back to her world.

At one point, she became friends with Silver the Hedgehog, a hedgehog with psychic powers from the future.

In Sonic Rush Adventure, the Jeweled Scepter was stolen by a robot pirate captain named Captain Whisker who wanted the power of the sceptee for himself. So Blaze set off an another quest to get the scepter back alongside her koala royal bodyguard Gardon. Along the way, she met up with Sonic and Tails again and the group met a young racoon girl named Marine who offers to help them in their journey. At first, Blaze is annoyed with Marine's bossiness to the point she left her behind at their base. But soon after, Blaze regretted her actions and rescued Marine when she was captured by the pirates.

After Sonic and Blaze defeated Captain Whisker, the Jeweled Scepter was stolen again by Eggman and Eggman Nega, with them using the scepter's power to power up their robot, the Egg Wizard. Sonic and Blaze then used the Chaos Emeralds and Sol Emeralds to turn into Super Sonic and Burning Blaze to defeat the 2 doctors. After the doctors were defeated, Blaze got the scepter back. Before Sonic and Tails left after their adventures, Sonic and Blaze shake hands once again, signifying growing respect and friendship and the promise to meet again one day.

Afterwards, Blaze with join in Sonic and his friends' adventures at many points. Blaze's trademark power is her pyrokinetic ability to brandish, create, and control the elemental force of fire with her body at will in any way she pleases. This ability is so deeply rooted in her that even her soul is alit with flames. Though Blaze initially had trouble controlling her flames, she has since become very adept at using them, turning them into an incredible force. Notably, she is able to handle them delicately enough to create small embers in the palm of her hand or defrost frozen creatures without harming them. Her power over fire is so advanced that she is even completely invulnerable to certain kinds of fire and can manipulate foreign flames at will too.

With her pyrokinesis, Blaze can conjure up flames for various offensive effects, the most basic maneuvers of which involve turning herself into a tornado of fire by spinning around. Notably, she can cloak herself in flames with a midair twirl for strikes, trigger high-speed twirls empowered by flames to form fiery tornadoes around her that destroy anything they collide with, envelop herself in flames to become an explosive meteor with enough impact power to create a crater in bedrock, or increase the power behind her strikes to such levels that she can send the Egg Mobile and its passenger flying into the horizon with a single, fire-charged kick. She can even create pressurized blasts of fire and have them burst out of the ground from afar. Blaze has even demonstrated the ability to teleport in a flash of flames, as shown in the cutscene when she first meets Sonic. Purely offense usages aside, Blaze can also use her pyrokinesis to propel herself forward or upward with short bursts of fire or obtain limited flight by creating propulsive flames underneath her feet to slow her descent. However, her signature move with her flames lets her turn herself into a burning projectile that not only enhances her running speed but also lets her plow through opponents while running.

As the guardian of the Sol Emeralds, Blaze has a deep connection to them. Before she understood the meaning of friendship, Blaze was unable to harness the Sol Emeralds' power. After embracing the friendships she had forged, however, she gained the ability to tap into the Sol Emeralds' energies and use them to empower herself.

She can do hand-to-hand combat as well, her fighting movements are like a ballerina, focusing on graceful and delicate movements and strike her foes hard with fire on her strikes.

In some instances, Blaze is shown being able to levitate in midair. Being royalty, Blaze also has much knowledge about the various aspects of her planet, such as its history, ancient languages, and legends; and knows much about the various powers of the Jeweled Scepter.

Blaze also has skills in ballet.

Blaze can harness the energy of the 7 Sol Emeralds to become Burning Blaze, which grants her the ability to fly and stronger pyrokinetic powers. She is as strong as Super Sonic in this form. In her Burning Blaze form, her fur turns red and spikes up in a shape similar to flames. She also gains a red fiery aura. Like Super Sonic, Blaze cannot stay in her Burning Blaze form for too long as it will drain her energy over time. </Powers and Abilities>
