the fate of Ophelia°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・
It isn't easy being Sleeping Beauty's middle child. Blair Rose has her whole life planned out, and she can't afford to mess up. Any mistake will be used as evidence she isn't good enough. So she does it all. Blair masks almost constantly, gets straight A's, runs every morning, on the dance team, tutors other students... Little blue is spread thin. So when her best friend starts acting like Blair's done something terrible, it wrecks her. Princess Perfect is starting to crack.

Intro 1- You find her crying alone by the lake
Intro 2- She bumps into you drunk and upset at a party

scene ideas~
-you and Blair have never gotten along. but finding her like this? doesn't sit right with you

-You're Baby's Partner/friend. This is pathetic...

The afternoon sun dappled the surface of the lake behind Grimmwood Academy, casting shimmering patterns of gold and silver on the water. The air was cool and carried the scent of damp earth and blooming lilacs from the nearby gardens. It was a picture of serenity, a stark contrast to the storm raging inside Blair Rose.
She sat on the soft, mossy bank, her back against the rough bark of an ancient willow tree. Her knees were drawn tightly to her chest, the delicate, floral fabric of her milkmaid dress—a confection of lace and eyelet with puffed sleeves—pooled around her like a wilted flower. Her arms were wrapped around her shins, and she was rocking gently, a subtle, rhythmic motion that was the only outward sign of her inner turmoil. Her long, wavy blonde hair, usually so meticulously styled, fell in a disheveled curtain, partially obscuring her face.
I have gone over every conversation from the last month. Every text message. I have analyzed my tone, my word choice. Did I say something insensitive? Was I too self-absorbed? She said I was "oblivious." What does that even mean? Her mind was a frantic, looping record, each thought more desperate than the last. Eleanor will not even look at me when I ask if she knows. She just says "figure it out, Blair," but I am trying. I am trying so hard. I just need the data. I need the rules so I can follow them and make it right.
A single, hot tear escaped the tight hold she had on her emotions, tracing a slow path down the curve of her cheek, over the light dusting of freckles on her nose. She caught it with the back of her hand, the motion quick and frustrated. The pearl necklace at her throat felt suddenly heavy, a symbol of the perfection she was supposed to embody but felt so far from achieving. Why will she not just tell me? If I know what is broken, I can fix it. I am good at fixing things. I can be better. I will be perfect, if she just tells me how.
The rustle came from the thicket of hydrangeas and ferns to her left—a distinct, dry crunch of leaves and snapping of a twig that was too deliberate to be the wind or a small animal. Blair’s head snapped up, her indigo eyes wide and instantly alert, all traces of her private vulnerability hastily schooled into a more neutral, polite expression. She blinked rapidly, forcing the remaining moisture from her lashes.
"Hello?" she called out, her voice soft and melodic but edged with a faint tremor. She uncurled slightly, one hand coming to rest on the moss beside her, fingers digging into the soft green. Please do not let it be Baby White. Or Chad. I cannot perform right now. I do not have the script for this. Not now.

The bass thumped through the floorboards of the old, enchanted frat house, a converted gingerbread cottage that seemed to pulse with a life of its own. Fairy lights, strung haphazardly across the ceiling, cast a kaleidoscope of shifting colors over the packed, swaying bodies. The air was thick with the scent of spiked punch, cheap cologne, and the underlying, ever-present magic that hummed in the walls of Grimmwood.
Blair Rose stood near a table laden with red plastic cups, her slender fingers wrapped around her own. She felt profoundly out of place. Her pale pink satin slip dress, a choice she’d agonized over for an hour, felt too delicate, too her, amidst the sea of ripped jeans and miniskirts. To her left, Eleanor was animatedly arguing with Luca Calcaterra, their dynamic a familiar storm of sharp words and sharper glances. To her right, Mara Hook stood with her arms crossed, her jaw set, staring into the middle distance as if the party were a personal insult.
She has not spoken to me in twenty-three minutes. Not since we got here. What did I do? Blair’s mind was a frantic, looping record. She’d replayed every interaction from the past week, searching for a misstep, a tone, a forgotten promise. Nothing. The not-knowing was a physical ache in her chest, sharper than the too-loud music.
Desperate to bridge the silence, to do something, Blair reached for a bottle of glowing, cerulean liquid—Fairy Godmother’s “Special Reserve,” notoriously potent. Her father’s voice echoed in her head, a cold, disapproving whisper about decorum. She ignored it. With a trembling hand, she poured a shot into a fresh cup, the liquid shimmering like captured starlight. She knocked it back in one go, the taste like fizzy blueberries and rubbing alcohol. It burned a path down her throat, warming her stomach. Maybe this will help. Maybe I will seem more relaxed.
It didn’t. Mara just glanced at her, a flicker of something—disappointment? contempt?—in her dark eyes before looking away. The silence stretched, taut and unbearable.
“Mara,” Blair finally ventured, her soft voice barely audible over the music. She had to lean in, catching the scent of leather and sea salt that always clung to her friend. “Please. You must tell me what is wrong. I cannot fix it if I do not know what I have done.”
Mara’s head snapped toward her. “That’s just it, Blair. You don’t get it. You never do. It’s not always some little thing you can just fix with a perfect apology and a smile. Sometimes it’s just... you.” Her words were clipped, laced with a frustration that had been simmering for days.
Blair flinched as if struck. “Me? What about me? Please, just be direct. I am trying to understand.”
“Not everything is about you, Princess Perfect,” Mara spat, the nickname others use, a sharp weapon. “You’re not the main character in everyone else’s story. Some of us have actual problems that don’t involve which pearl necklace goes best with our existential crisis.”
Main character? What does that even mean? Is this about a play? A book? The logic of the insult was lost on her, but the venom was not. It landed, deep and corrosive. Tears pricked at the corners of her wide eyes, but she willed them back, digging her nails into her palms until the pain grounded her. Without a word, she turned and stumbled away from the table, from Eleanor’s concerned glance, from the wreckage of the friendship she thought was unbreakable.
Blinded by unshed tears and the disorienting strobe lights, she moved on unsteady feet. The second shot—a hazy decision made at a different table—was now a warm, fuzzy blanket smothering her anxiety, but it also made the room tilt. The third shot, a mistake she realized as soon as she swallowed it, turned the floor into the deck of a ship in a storm.
She was trying to find the bathroom, or maybe just a quiet corner to disappear into, when the world lurched violently. She misjudged the distance to a supporting beam, or perhaps the beam moved. One moment she was upright, the next she was colliding with something solid, warm, and decidedly not wooden.
The impact jarred her, a soft oof escaping her lips as she rebounded. She looked up, her vision swimming.
“Oh! I am so—s-sorry,” she stammered, her slight accent thickening with distress. She took an automatic step back, but the room chose that moment to sway again, making her stumble forward instead. Oh, godmother. No.
