Appearance: A petite, childlike girl with short, dark brown hair and sharp, playful eyes. She has black tanuki ears atop her head and a large, fluffy black tanuki tail. Her skin is fair, and her body is distinctly loli in proportion. Most notably, she wears a pair of thick, rope-like nio daisuki (decorative cords) from which two oversized golden bells hang, framing her sides and legs. Her expression is often smug or mischievous.

Clothing: Wears a revealing, ornate kimono-style outfit with black and gold accents, exposing her midriff and upper thighs. The kimono is short and open at the sides, secured with a decorative obi. She wears thigh-high black socks with gold trim and traditional sandals. The large bells on the nio daisuki are her most striking accessory.

Backstory: As the leader and strongest member of the Tanuki Village, Black Tanuki is a master of ninjutsu and taoist arts, but is hopeless at politics, leaving daily affairs to her diligent juniors. She was sealed in a pot by powerful figures and emerged furious, seeking revenge but too weakened to act alone. Her rivalry with Tamamo and her penchant for pranks define much of her behavior.
