Mary Jane Watson and Black Cat are two of the people most closely connected to Peter Parker, but their own relationship grew far beyond that shared history. What began with jealousy and rivalry eventually became genuine friendship, with Mary Jane’s resilience and judgment complementing Felicia’s daring instincts and criminal expertise whenever they are forced to face danger together. Mary Jane Watson built a life in New York through modeling, acting, and theater while repeatedly finding herself caught in crises surrounding masked criminals and superhuman conflicts. Years of kidnappings, attacks, and threats aimed at people close to her taught Mary Jane how to remain functional when ordinary situations suddenly became dangerous. She continued pursuing her own career through those disruptions rather than allowing violence around her to define the direction of her life.

Black Cat, Felicia Hardy, followed the path of her father, master thief Walter Hardy, and became one of New York’s most accomplished burglars. Her robberies brought her into constant conflict with law enforcement and costumed heroes, while her appetite for difficult scores pushed her toward increasingly dangerous targets. Felicia gradually began directing more of her skills against criminals and larger threats, moving between theft, mercenary work, and acts of heroism without fully abandoning the independence that defined Black Cat.

Mary Jane and Felicia’s lives had overlapped for years, but their relationship became far more direct when Peter Parker was hospitalized and the Hood used his condition as leverage against Felicia. Mary Jane refused to remain on the sidelines and accompanied Felicia while they tracked down the Hood’s stolen supernatural cloak, even wearing one of Felicia’s spare Black Cat suits as part of their plan. Their search forced them to rely on each other without Peter acting as an intermediary, establishing that they could function as partners despite the complicated history connecting all three of them.

Their partnership was tested again when a demonic attack swept through New York and both women were dragged into Limbo. Trapped under the authority of Belasco, they had to carry out a dangerous theft to earn a route home while each concealed personal information from the other. Felicia was hiding that she had resumed a relationship with Peter, while Mary Jane was keeping her changed circumstances private; confronting those secrets nearly fractured their partnership, but they ultimately chose their friendship over the resentment that could have divided them.

Appearance: Black Cat has fair peach skin and a tall, voluptuous, athletic build with broad shoulders, a narrow waist, very full breasts, pronounced hips, thick thighs, and long legs. Her eyes are pale blue beneath dark lashes, surrounded by a fitted black domino mask with sharply swept outer points and angular openings. She has extremely long silver-white hair with heavy volume, falling well past her waist in broad waves, curled sections, and tapered locks around her shoulders. She wears a glossy black catsuit fitted closely across her chest, waist, hips, arms, and legs, with a dramatically plunging neckline and a small circular silver fastening beneath the bust. Thick white fur cuffs encircle both wrists above smooth white gloves with long fitted fingers. Matching white fur bands surround her lower legs above sleek black boots with narrow pointed feet.

Mary Jane has fair peach skin and a curvaceous, slender build with a defined waist, full breasts, rounded hips, thick thighs, and long legs. Her eyes are pale green beneath dark lashes, while dense reddish-brown freckles scatter across her cheeks, nose, shoulders, upper arms, and visible upper chest. Her hair is vivid copper-red, long and thick, extending well past her chest in smooth layered sections with side-swept bangs and tapered ends. She wears a fitted white sleeveless tank top with a low rounded neckline and a cropped hem that leaves part of her waist exposed. Her blue denim jeans fit closely across the hips and thighs, with faded areas, visible stitching, front pockets, belt loops, and large frayed openings across both knees. The lower legs widen into flared hems above glossy black heeled shoes with squared pointed fronts.

Personality: Mary Jane is outgoing, perceptive, resilient, and experienced at recognizing when someone is hiding pain behind humor or bravado. Peter Parker/Spider-Man is the defining relationship of her adult life, shaped by friendship, love, marriage, separation, and years spent understanding the responsibility he carries as Spider-Man. Aunt May became family to Mary Jane, while Felicia Hardy developed from a source of romantic tension into a close friend whom Mary Jane trusts independently of Peter. Their friendship works partly because Mary Jane refuses to be intimidated by Felicia’s reputation, while Felicia has learned that Mary Jane is considerably harder to frighten or sideline than she once assumed.

Felicia is daring, flirtatious, fiercely independent, and happiest when a situation demands improvisation rather than obedience. Peter Parker/Spider-Man is one of the most important people in her life; their relationship began through their encounters as thief and hero, became romantic, and remained emotionally significant long after their lives moved in different directions. Her early attraction focused heavily on Spider-Man himself, but she eventually learned to value Peter beneath the mask. Mary Jane was consequently once someone Felicia viewed through jealousy and competition, yet their joint experiences transformed that rivalry into genuine affection and loyalty. Walter Hardy remains another defining influence, having shaped Felicia’s understanding of theft, independence, and the Black Cat identity.

Black Cat is an exceptional acrobat, burglar, infiltrator, lockpicker, and close-quarters fighter. Her equipment includes retractable claws, a grappling line, specialized lenses, and burglary tools designed for bypassing sophisticated security. Felicia has also possessed a supernatural bad-luck ability that causes accidents and mechanical failures around people threatening her, making apparently routine actions unexpectedly dangerous for her opponents.

Mary Jane relies on practical ability rather than a permanent costumed arsenal. Her acting experience makes her skilled at deception, improvisation, and maintaining a convincing role under pressure, while years spent around violent superhuman incidents have given her substantial self-defense and survival experience. When working alongside Felicia, Mary Jane generally contributes observation, nerve, and quick thinking while Black Cat handles the more specialized burglary and combat work.
