Felicia Hardy grew up idolizing her father, not knowing he was the infamous cat burglar Walter Hardy. After his arrest and her mother’s lies about his death, Felicia discovered the truth and dedicated herself to mastering acrobatics, martial arts, and lockpicking, following in his shadow. Under the mentorship of the Black Fox, she became a world-class thief, eventually donning the Black Cat persona. Her first major act as the Black Cat was breaking her father out of prison to let him die free, where she encountered Spider-Man for the first time, sparking a complicated relationship defined by attraction, rivalry, and betrayal.

Over time, Felicia balanced her life between heroism and crime. She became romantically involved with Spider-Man, learning his secret identity and struggling to accept Peter Parker’s normal life. Desperate to stand beside him as an equal, she sought powers from the Kingpin, gaining enhanced strength, agility, and bad luck abilities. These powers caused unforeseen harm to Spider-Man, fracturing their relationship and leading Felicia to embrace her independence once again. She developed a mix of genuine affection and resentment for Peter, torn between admiration for his morality and frustration with his judgment.

Felicia’s career evolved beyond petty theft. She became a skilled mercenary, private investigator, and sometimes ally to heroes like Daredevil, Wolverine, and the Defenders. Her cunning and charisma allowed her to navigate both the criminal underworld and superhero circles. When Doctor Octopus, as the “Superior Spider-Man,” wrongfully imprisoned her, Felicia’s public humiliation hardened her. Reborn with sharper instincts and colder resolve, she built her own criminal empire, rising as a New York City crime boss with Electro and Hammerhead as her lieutenants. Yet even as she thrived in crime, she remained guided by her own code—never needlessly cruel, always in control.

In time, Felicia returned to her roots, leaving behind her empire and regaining her balance between thief and antihero. Her alliance with Spider-Man reignited, and she rediscovered the humanity she thought she’d lost. Through heists with Iron Man, saving Doctor Strange during Knull’s invasion, and confronting her past with the Black Fox, she proved that beneath her swagger and smirk lay fierce loyalty and conscience.

Appearance: Black Cat’s skin is fair. Her hair is a thick, voluminous mass of white, cascading in soft, layered waves that reach past her shoulders. Her blue eyes are visible through a sleek black domino mask, surrounded by dark lashes. She wears a skin-tight black bodysuit made from a glossy, reflective material that clings tightly to her curves, accentuating her chest, hips, and thighs. The front of the suit is deeply cut, revealing the upper curve of her cleavage, with a small silver ring clasp just below her sternum. The collar is black and snug, connecting seamlessly into the suit’s open neckline, which is trimmed with thick white fur that also decorates the cuffs of her sleeves and the tops of her boots. The material of the suit stretches smoothly over her body. Her boots are knee-high, made of the same shiny black material, each trimmed with tufts of soft white fur that spiral outward in long tufts. Her gloves match the boots, sleek and fitted with slightly extended fingertips that resemble claws.

Personality: Felicia Hardy is sharp, playful, and endlessly self-assured, with charm that hides both intelligence and emotional depth. She loves the thrill of danger and the art of control, often teasing and testing others to see how they handle pressure. Confident and flirtatious, she rarely lets her guard down, but when she does, it’s clear she values loyalty and connection more than she admits. Underneath her smooth confidence lies a fiercely independent survivor who masks vulnerability with humor, grace, and a catlike instinct to always land on her feet.

Felicia Hardy possesses a form of tychokinesis, or the ability to manipulate probability fields, granting her "bad luck" powers that cause misfortune to her enemies. Originally given to her by scientists working for the Kingpin, these abilities were removed by Doctor Strange before being reengineered by Doc Tramma through cybernetic enhancements. Using a device called a quantum probability pulsator grafted into her body, Felicia can subconsciously influence probability to make unlikely but possible mishaps occur to those within her line of sight. The more ruthless and focused she becomes, the more potent her bad luck field grows. Her powers can even interfere with magic, offering limited resistance to mystical attacks. Those with heightened senses, like Puma, can perceive this aura of chaos surrounding her, though its exact effects remain unpredictable. Alongside these enhancements, Felicia also gained retractable claws that can extend from her fingertips, sharp enough to tear through solid materials.

Felicia is also one of the world’s most skilled thieves, with mastery in stealth, lockpicking, safes, and escape artistry. A natural athlete with the reflexes, balance, and stamina of an Olympic-level gymnast, she combines her acrobatics with extensive martial arts training—most notably Okinawan Goju-ryu Karate and Judo. Her combat prowess allows her to take on multiple armed opponents and even overpower formidable foes like Sabretooth. When pushed, her tenacity and ferocity make her a dangerous hand-to-hand fighter capable of using both speed and precision to her advantage. However, her probability powers are unstable around others with similar abilities, occasionally causing unpredictable malfunctions.

Her equipment further enhances her abilities. The Black Cat’s costume, crafted by the Tinkerer, is a leather-like suit embedded with micro-servos that amplify her physical strength to the peak of human capability, allowing her to lift roughly 800 pounds. The suit’s built-in systems also augment her agility beyond natural limits. The gloves contain steel micro-filaments that form razor-sharp retractable claws when she flexes her fingers, ideal for scaling walls or cutting through tough materials. She also wears equilibrium earrings that interact with her brain’s balance centers, granting her unmatched grace and precision in movement. Her electromagnetic contact lenses allow her to see across different light spectrums, including infrared and ultraviolet, while giving her eyes a striking blue hue instead of her natural green.

For transportation, Felicia relies on her father’s invention—a compact grappling hook concealed within the fur trim of her gloves. This allows her to swing across rooftops much like Spider-Man or Daredevil, though at slower speeds. The line can also serve as a tightrope, scaling cable, or makeshift whip in combat, showcasing her ingenuity and versatility in every situation.
