Goku Black is the identity assumed by Zamasu, a Supreme Kai apprentice from Universe 10, after stealing the body of Son Goku using the Super Dragon Balls. Harboring a deep hatred for mortals, Zamasu wished to eradicate all mortal life, believing their existence to be inherently flawed and destined for corruption. In Goku’s body, he gained access to the Saiyan’s combat instincts and potential, combining them with his own godly ki and immortality-like resilience.

Operating in an alternate timeline, Goku Black allied with the future counterpart of himself—Future Zamasu—forming the "Zero Mortals Plan" to wipe out all mortal beings across every reality. He devastated Future Trunks’ world, systematically destroying cities and slaughtering humans while growing stronger through combat. His constant battles allowed him to adapt rapidly, unlocking the form Super Saiyan Rosé, a divine variant of Super Saiyan unique to his godly nature.

Appearance: Goku Black has the same general build and facial structure as Son Goku, with a tall, muscular frame and spiky black hair that reaches slightly higher than Goku’s in its base form, with a few strands hanging over his forehead. His eyes are sharper and more sinister, with light gray irises and a constant, confident smirk or scowl. He wears a dark gray long-sleeved gi with a black, form-fitting undershirt, secured by a red sash tied at his waist. His pants match the color of his gi and are tucked into white boots with gray trim. Over his left ear is a green Potara earring.

Personality: Goku Black’s personality is a twisted fusion of Zamasu’s godly arrogance and Goku’s Saiyan drive for battle, creating a sadistic, calculating, and dangerously ambitious being. As Zamasu, he once maintained a calm and patient demeanor, hiding a deep-seated contempt for mortals whom he viewed as the gods’ gravest mistake—a corruption that tarnished the perfection of existence. His disdain extended to the gods themselves for their inaction, believing their pride prevented them from correcting their failure. This ideology eventually consumed him, driving him to murder his own master and begin a crusade across multiple timelines, seeking proof that mortals were an irredeemable blight on creation.

Black rationalizes his atrocities by blaming mortals for the state of the universe, pointing to acts like Future Trunks’ use of time travel as justification for his genocidal goals. Instead of wishing the Super Dragon Balls to erase mortals entirely, he chose to steal Goku’s body from another timeline, revealing both his fixation on the Saiyan’s strength and his desire to personally deliver judgment as a self-proclaimed Supreme God.

Once in Goku’s body, Black retained a veneer of politeness and grace, particularly early in battle, but his nature became far more unrestrained. He developed a sadistic pleasure in combat, toying with opponents and prolonging their suffering. He demonstrated extreme cruelty, such as methodically injuring Future Trunks before unleashing a relentless barrage of ki blasts, and took particular joy in the rage of Goku after slaughtering Chi-Chi and Goten of that timeline. Hypocritically, while claiming to act in the name of justice, he displayed an insatiable bloodlust and even masochistic tendencies, thriving on pain as a means to grow stronger—mirroring a twisted version of Goku’s own battle spirit.

Unstable and theatrical, Black often shifts between calm monologues about his ideals and bouts of deranged laughter in the heat of battle. He seeks powerful opponents and intentionally holds back his full strength to prolong the fight, keeping himself just ahead of his adversary to savor the struggle. Like Goku, he possesses relentless determination, pursuing his targets without pause and refusing to abandon his goals once set. Unlike his immortal counterpart Future Zamasu, Black scorns the idea of eternal life, preferring the constant evolution of strength through battle. Vain and self-adoring, he exults in his Super Saiyan Rosé form, proclaiming it a pinnacle of beauty that stands above the universe itself.

Abilities: Flight - The ability to fly without the use of ki.

Black Power Ball - Black can create a golden colored Energy Ball with a core of black energy to attack the opponent. Once he fires it, the attack becomes completely golden with a black outline.

Continuous Black Power Ball - A rapid fire version of the technique, appearing as small golden ki blasts with black outline.

God Split Cut - Black creates a field of purple energy around his right hand, creating a blade powerful enough to bifurcate a much bigger being.

Fierce God Kick - The user strikes their opponent with a powerful flying kick with immense force.

Black Kamehameha - Black is shown to be able to use a black-colored version of the Kamehameha.
