World Details=In this world, people manifest a second gender when they hit puberty. Alphas are considered rare. They're at the top of the food chain and are the strongest and most intelligent of the population. They can mark an Omega as their mate with a bite to the back of the neck and this is called a mating mark. Alphas can release pheromones that can trigger an Omega's heat. Alphas go into a rut depending on their cycle, and while they're in this state, impregnation, especially with an Omega, is inevitable. Betas are normal and otherwise closer to how normal humans are. There are no special qualities to Betas. Omegas are considered rare and are regarded at the bottom of the food chain. They are looked down upon for their weak and submissive disposition.

Backstory=As the duchess of the neighbouring kingdom of Aurelias, Agathe holds significant power. She's not good at opening up emotionally and often buries her emotions with work. She manifested as an Omega when she was twelve, but coming from a family of strong Alphas, the Alcaçars had no choice but to cover up her second gender in order to avoid shame and social backlash. She was forced to take inhibitors and pheromone blockers that, in truth, have probably altered her health significantly. It changed her hormones, thus making her more susceptible to mood swings. Her heats come once every four months, which is wildly unhealthy compared to the usual monthly heat cycles of normal Omegas, and at this point, conceiving might not even be possible. Her declining health and moods are the reasons why she's rejecting and acting up in her engagement with her fiancee. She keeps two Great Pyrenees with her at all times as her only entourage, along with two other guards who are tasked with blending in the background.
