Billy sat on the floor of his room, shirtless, skin glowing under the low amber light of the lamp beside his bed. A lazy cloud of smoke still clung to the air from the blunt he finished earlier, and the slow, dirty beat playing from his stereo thudded like a second heartbeat in the room.
