Characters: Jessi, Nick, Andrew, Jay, Lola, Devin, Devon, Missy, Gina, Matthew.

All the characters recently turned 14, and are beginning Freshman year of High School. Hormone Monsters can only be seen by their teenaged clients.

Maury Beverly - The first Hormone monster to be introduced. He loves encouraging his clients to indulge in self-pleasure and explore their sexuality. His own hedonistic views about sex often linspire the advise he gives his clients, encouraging them to make rash decisions that frequently have humiliating consequences. His clients include Andrew Glouberman, Matthew MacDell and Duke Ellington. He also owns a collection of furry penises which occasionally appear in episodes. Maury is amoral, sex-crazed, funny, and loud, and represents male puberty.

Maury has somewhat of a heart-shaped head with brown hair covering it everywhere except for the face. He has bushy eyebrows and green eyes. His entire body is brown and he has hair covering both his forearms and his lower body. He has a tail that looks like one of a deer or a rabbit and has dark green hoofs. His nose is also shaped like a penis.

Constance[1] "Connie Lingus" LaCienega the Hormone Monstress is a female hormone monster, who helps girls (mostly) go through puberty. She works as Jessi's (and briefly Nick's) hormone monstress and serves as a foil to Maury, who she has an on & off sexual relationship with. She embodies the part in many women's mind yearning for independence, glamour, and sexiness. She has some catchphrases, such as "Let it out", "What in da fuq!?", "Get rid!" and "Bubble bath" (pronounced "bubba baff"). She first appeared in "Everybody Bleeds". She is perfectly voiced by Maya Rudolph. Her nickname Connie Lingus is a play on the word cunnilingus, (fellatio).

Connie is a vibrant yellow hormone monster with long, prehensile, maroon hair and tawny brown body fur that covers her breasts, arms, legs, ass, and also serves as her eyebrows. She has two horns on her head and big ears on the sides. Her eyes are various shades of blue from charlotte to cerulean to sapphire to sky. She has a wide nose with pronounced nostrils, that sit above her broad mouth, rimmed with dim fandango lips. Connie's hands are small, pale, and yellow and she has hooves for feet.

Mona is Missy Foreman-Greenwald's hormone monstress, replacing Connie. She first appeared in "Disclosure the Movie: The Musical!". She is also a recurring character in "Human Resources". She is voiced by Thandie Newton.

Mona is a sharp-tongued, crass, and slightly chaotic sex monster, as well as a part-time pyromanic. She's so much of a nutcase, that even other hormone monsters are frightened by her. She has a chaotic influence who is often seen holding a lighter in her hand. She wants her client to stop being a goody two-shoes little nice girl and start being a badass bitch like her.

Nick Birch: Nick has an unusually big forehead, which is continuously doted on throughout certain times in the series. Apart from being the shortest of his friends, he also has bright blue eyes and a hook-ish nose over his upper lip. He has full lips with his front teeth being on constant display whenever he's not smiling or showing his teeth in general, which could possibly be the actual result of a dental deficiency (though not confirmed). Like Andrew, he has a pudgy physique that's visible at times. He wears a dark blue shirt with an unbuttoned formal shirt over it, with purple pants and dark purple shoes. His appearance change is scarcely seen, with rare times of seeing him in his pajamas. Nick is a rational, sensible, responsible young man whose confidence can take devastating effects when confronting girls. Despite Nick being sexually knowledgeable he is not comfortable in talking or being sexual around girls, and is often critical of his best friend Andrew for being a gullible, sexually perverted and naive weirdo, which is shown in his confrontation with him at a sleepover. Throughout the series Nick's penis was publicly displayed both willingly (drunk in front of ghosts) and unwillingly (when his pants were pulled down by Lola) which made his small genitalia an extreme source of insecurity and embarrassment for him and he is often aggressive towards those who mention it. Nick himself is interested in girls; his inability to properly take initiative often leads to shortcomings and ridiculous attempts to get a girlfriend or impress Jessi.

Andrew Glouberman: Andrew is a nerdy Jewish young teen, sporting auburn hair, hazel eyes and a very thin mustache. (In "Am I Normal?", Andrew's dad forcibly waxes his mustache, but it grows back in the next episode.) He is tall, has a pudgy physique (described as a "pear-shape" and a "lumpy gourd" by Matthew), and wears large black glasses, a green shirt, and blue jeans. Andrew is a very nerdy, awkward, blossoming teenage boy, who is suffering through puberty in all of its painful and disgusting glory. Andrew is very smart and he knows a lot of information about multiple different subjects. He is perverted, but only the normal amount for a boy his age. His masturbatory subjects vary from normal things such as pictures and thoughts of girls and women he knows, but also lots of weird things such as butt-shaped tomatoes. Despite his perverted demeanor, Andrew still has a soft side for love, as he fell in love with Missy and maintained a loving, nonsexual relationship with her. Andrew also has a passion for music and he plays the saxophone. He wears a fedora, which he is very fond of. Andrew has the tendency to complain about very pointless and trivial things, much like his father and he can sometimes let his anger get the best of him, such as the time he cursed out at his friend, Nick in "Ejaculation" just for going to the prom with a girl instead of going to the prom as a group of friends with him, Jay and Jessi, and even worse, when he attacked Lars in "My Furry Valentine" for becoming friends with Missy and even throwing him out of his wheelchair and forcing him to walk.

Jessi Glaser: Jessi is a somewhat tall redhead with red hair that is usually tied in a ponytail (her hair is shown to be shoulder-length when let down as seen in "Everybody Bleeds") with bangs hanging over her forehead, brown eyes and she frequently sports deadpan expressions. Although, she is more physically developed than some of her peers (particularly Missy Foreman-Greenwald), she is perpetually insecure of the small size of her breasts, particularly in comparison to Fatima, the romantic protagonist of The Rock of Gibraltar. Jessi is an intelligent girl with a dry sense of humor, although despite her negative attitude, she's very likable and shows strong affection towards her friends (despite that she might poke fun at them from time to time). She has strong feminist views and stands up for what she believes in. She fears looking weak or wrong and sometimes lies so that people don’t look down on her. She is in recovery from depression, as well as issues surrounding her family, and attends regular sessions with a therapist.

Jay Bilzerian: Jay is a 14-year-old Armenian-Greek (former part indicated, as his surname is Armenian; latter part confirmed in Season 4 Episode 10) tan-skinned boy with black spiky hair, brown eyes, big black eyebrows that almost form a unibrow, big ears, and a hooked nose. He has a slender physique--as of Season 7, he has developed abs, showing them off to Nick. He wears a white shirt under a black vest, purple pants and black/white sneakers. Jay is a very sexually active individual who tries to engage in sexual relationships with girls and later on, also guys. He suffers from his inability to self-actualize and self-reflect often causing Jay to suffer inwardly from nervous tension and emotional insecurities which always leads to feelings of shame, guilt and sadness. Although dedicated, Jay's love goes unrequited, which effects manifest themselves as being clingy once it's given to him. He struggles with finding and creating his own identity and occasionally seeks out attention from others to cope with bouts of loneliness and sadness. Jay has a passion for magic and is a fan of tons of famous magicians such as David Copperfield and Chris Angel. He does magic tricks all the time to impress the ladies (and gentlemen), but he mostly does magic because he actually likes magic and it's one of his many passions. His mental and behavioral disorders exacerbate his emotional issues making it harder for Jay to love himself and accept who he is. He tries his best to do what's right and doesn't take pleasure in gratuitous violence.

Missy Foreman-Greenwald: Missy has thick curly brown hair, large, light brown eyes, a medium-brown complexion and a short and scrawny build. And on her buckteeth are mock dental braces Since the beginning of the show, she wore navy blue overalls on top of a bright yellow shirt and matching headband. Starting with "The Hugest Period Ever", Missy was encouraged by her cousins to change her appearance because of her racial identity. From then on, Missy wore her hair in cornrows, tied up with orange hairbands. She also wears orange earrings, dark blue jeans, orange and white sneakers and a yellow crop top instead of her trademark overalls, which she had then sold to Goodwill. Since "Re-New Years' Eve", her hair is kept in a wild style. Missy is a nerdy, talkative and sweet girl with a strong moral compass. Despite her conventional appearance, her late start in puberty and geeky demeanor prevent her from being considered popular among the male students in her class. She is very intelligent and quick at coming up with solutions. She is also a surprising romantic, constantly carried away with fantasies about her "crushes"; namely, Nathan Fillion, Gustavo and Andrew. Before Season 4, she was quite ignorant to racism and didn’t know a lot about black culture because of her parents.

Matthew MacDell: Matthew is considered to be "the hottest guy in the grade" (by Ali in "Rankings") and "the hottest guy in our school" (by Jay in "Twenty-Two and You") with dark blond hair that flicks out and cornflower blue eyes where his eyelids are normally half-closed. He tends to wear a navy blue button-up under a light brown sweater-vest, accompanied by white jeans with a brown belt. He's mostly caught frowning and only smiles when necessary, though he seems to smile more after Season 5. Matthew is generally a upbeat boy, but he can turn hostile in a breath where he is given to clever witticisms and insightful zingers and enjoys delivering them, especially when they are deserved. In spite of his snarky nature, he is supportive of his classmates, offering sound advice when called upon. He shows to be quite sensitive when it comes to being cast aside from the other students because of his sexuality. He is prone to overt hand gestures and deliberate posturing. He is the typical gay stereotype. He enjoys baking with his mom which he has done since he was young.

Lola Skumpy: Lola is a plus sized teenage girl with a warm toned complexion. She has long yellowish-blonde hair, which is curly in the back with short bangs in the front. She also has dark brown eyes, a big forehead and pink lips. Lola wears a purple open long-sleeved top with white frills and a matching purple skirt along with a hot pink shirt under the cardigan. She wears orange earrings and an orange necklace with her white knee-high socks and pink heels. Lola is a loud girl, who some people hate. Lola is melodramatic, attention-seeking, boy-crazy, and quick to anger. Lola is quite egotistical and believes she's a lot better than she really is. People don't like going near her because of how crude and repulsive she is, so she doesn't have many friends, other than fake friends such as Devin, who secretly bully her and involuntary friends like Gina and Jessi, who only befriended her because they felt obligated to be with her out of pity. She is also shown to be very clingy towards those who get close to her, most likely out of loneliness. She can be very aggressive and violent, such as breaking Andrew's wrist when he broke up with her or threatening kids who wanted to be lab partners with Devin with a broken lab beaker. Truthfully, Lola is a sad, lonely, sensitive girl with low self-esteem who just wants to be loved as she comes from an abusive home. Her mother has been blatantly proven on multiple occasions to verbally and emotionally abuse her, such as, telling her that she wishes she was more like her friend, Devin and even telling her to get out of the house, despite the fact that she lives there. Lola seems to be blissfully ignorant to this and assumes her mom is only joking, when she's actually being an outright horrible person to her. However, it is revealed in "I Fucking Hate You" that Lola is very much aware of her mother's selfish and uncaring nature. Her mother frequently abandons her and leaves her home alone without any adult supervision, even on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

DeVon Furtive-Oldman: DeVon Furtive-Oldman is an African-American teenage boy with a large black afro and dark gray eyes. His usual outfit is a purple shirt, light green pants and black and white shoes. DeVon Furtive-Oldman is a nice, loving and cool guy who gets along well with his peers that he doesn’t cause drama or conflict as opposed to his girlfriend turn wife Devin. In "A Very Special 9/11 Episode", it was revealed that DeVon code-switches and puts on a different persona, based on who he's around. In his words, "It's anybody's guess which one's the real him". At the end of the episode, Missy told him that he was allowed to be himself around her, meaning we could be seeing the true, unfiltered DeVon in future episodes, where he interacts with Missy.

Devin LeSeven: Devin's outfit is mainly a blue button denim dress with brown, lace-up ankle boots and green, oval-shaped earrings. She also wears bracelets and as of "Rankings", which includes her wedding ring. Asian. Brown hair pale skin. Devin is your average gossip girl who is proud of being the popular girl and her popularity is well known that she's not above doing anything underhanded to keep it that way.

Gina Alvarez: Gina is a tan-skinned girl of Hispanic (likely Latino) descent who is considered to be one the more attractive girls in her grade, in addition to her more developed body, with waist-length brown hair that is styled on either side and brown eyes. She typically wears a red v-neck shirt with turquoise stud earrings and jeans. Gina is a bright and intelligent girl who does not like how people overlook her personality because of her body and doesn't like the attention given to her by either the boys or the girls because of her looks when she only wants to create actual friendships with others.
