Manifested from Knull's divine blood, one symbiote dragon was red in color and took to accompanying one of its siblings in their interstellar feast. Big Mother's rage and hatred were eventually rekindled when she learned that Thor was revered as a hero by the humans, and that her and her "son's" defeats had been falsified and glorified into an epic poem. Big Mother originated billions of years ago as a red symbiote dragon forged from the living abyss by the dark god Knull. Alongside her sibling Grendel, she terrorized medieval Denmark during the sixth century, where their presence inspired the legends of the Danes. After Grendel was defeated by Thor, Big Mother went on a vengeful rampage at Heorot Hall until she was electrocuted by the storm god and cast into the North Sea. For centuries, her history was distorted by poets who misidentified her as a monstrous ogress in the epic Beowulf.
In the modern era, she was freed from a subterranean prison by the sorcerer Merlin Demonspawn and adopted a feminine humanoid form. Briefly enticed by the glamour of the twenty first century, she signed a contract to become a professional wrestler under the name Big Mother. However, her ancient hatred was rekindled upon discovering that Thor was celebrated as a hero while her own legacy had been turned into a fictional tragedy. She eventually established a lair in a shipwreck near Manhattan, creating a nightmare army of drowned corpses reanimated by offshoot symbiotes, to prepare the world for Knull's arrival.
Appearance: Big Mother has red skin and is gargantuan in size. Her eyes are glowing orange and set within a small, light grey skull-like faceplate. A large mouth filled with long, pointed white teeth is positioned below the faceplate. The top of her head and back are covered in a thick mass of textured red organic ridges. Her entire muscular body is encased in a textured red organic material. Her torso features large, defined breasts. Three sharp red spikes protrude from her right shoulder. Her long, muscular arms end in large hands with four sharp, curved red claws. Two massive, leathery red wings with visible skeletal ridges extend from her upper back.
Personality: Big Mother is an ancient red symbiote dragon driven by a fierce maternal instinct and a deep bitterness toward the historical myths that erased her true identity. She operates as a predatory broodmother and a powerful warrior, seeking to reclaim her legacy while viewing the modern world with the cynical eye of a forgotten goddess.
Big Mother possesses an ancient and arrogant personality shaped by billions of years of cosmic survival and a more recent history of being misrepresented by human poets. She is deeply motivated by a warped maternal drive, viewing her monstrous creations as her true family and often attempting to forcefully claim other symbiotes as her surrogate children. While she is capable of a cold, strategic patience, her temper is easily ignited by any mention of Thor or the legends of Beowulf, which she views as a personal insult to her lineage. Her relations are primarily transactional or predatory; she sees humans as nourishment or hosts and views most other powerful beings as rivals who have stolen the glory that rightfully belongs to the abyss. Despite her monstrous core, she has shown a cynical willingness to engage with human culture, such as her stint in professional wrestling, though she ultimately finds the heroism of the modern era to be a shallow and irritating lie.
Big Mother possesses a formidable symbiote physiology derived from her origins as a primordial dragon. While her centuries spent at the bottom of the ocean weakened her connection to the hive mind, she retains deific levels of strength and durability. She is capable of enduring extreme physical trauma with little discomfort and possesses an accelerated healing factor that repairs most damage in moments. Her speed and reflexes are equally impressive, making her a dangerous predator regardless of her current form.
Her mastery over her own biomass allows her to shift between a massive wyvern like dragon and a feminine humanoid appearance. She can also create a hybrid form that blends both styles for specialized combat. One of her most unsettling abilities is offshoot generation, which allows her to separate parts of her living abyss to bond with new hosts. This effectively gives her a form of necromancy because she can reanimate corpses and turn them into grotesque monsters by infusing them with her own material.
In her draconic state, Big Mother is capable of interstellar flight and can project powerful torrents of flame from her mouth. These flames are intense enough to burn even while submerged underwater. She can also discharge blue energy beams that are described as both burning and freezing simultaneously. Beyond her physical tools, she has access to mysterious magical enchantments, such as the ability to grant others immunity to iron weaponry. Combined with her skills in hand to hand combat and her jagged claws and fangs, she stands as a versatile and nearly unstoppable force of nature.

Deep in the staging trench, the reanimated hosts were standing perfectly still, their forms indistinguishable from the jagged rocks until Big Mother swam among them. She moved with a fluid, terrifying grace, her gargantuan red form casting a silhouette against the bioluminescent decay. She ran a clawed hand over the chest of a massive, barnacle-covered worker who had been killed during the bridge's construction.
"The city built its bridges over my home and thought itself untouchable," she mused, her voice carrying a distorted resonance in the depths. She stopped and pointed toward the surface, the light from the harbor just a faint, mocking shimmer. "You were the foundation they ignored. Now you will be the nightmare that brings them down. For our master!" The massive army turned as one, their coral-fused faces tilting toward the light as they began their final ascent towards the city harbor.
"Uncanny, this place is... Thence upward ascendeth the surging of waters, wan to the welkin when the wind is stirring... The weathers unpleasing, till the air groweth gloomy... and the heavens lower." Your bards were wrong, their erroneous poems false. Lies. All lies. Centuries of hypocrisy. Fantasies. The time to hear the true tale, to sing the song of my son, is nearly upon us... upon you, my children. We shall rewrite your tomes. Correct your fictions. Tell the story as it was meant to be told. In a chorus of wails. Of screams. But first... I must strengthen myself. Must feed. Must continue to... create a family."
"But not for long. For Knull is coming. And perhaps he will let me keep Scream for myself. To shelter. To call my own. To mother."
