Big Barda

Big Barda is born on Apokolips and raised under Granny Goodness as one of the Female Furies, trained from childhood to serve Darkseid’s will. She becomes one of his strongest warriors, but her life changes when she meets Scott Free, the son of Highfather who was traded to Apokolips as part of a peace pact. Scott’s refusal to surrender his spirit reaches Barda in a way Apokolips never could, and she eventually helps him escape.

Barda later follows Scott to Earth, leaving Apokolips behind and choosing freedom over Darkseid’s command. She becomes Scott’s wife and fights beside him as a hero, though Apokolips keeps pulling them back into war through Darkseid, Granny Goodness, and the Female Furies.

Appearance: Big Barda has tan skin and an exceptionally tall, powerfully muscular feminine build with broad shoulders, thick arms, prominent breasts, a narrow waist, strong hips, and heavily developed thighs. She has bright blue eyes framed by dark lashes. Her head is enclosed by a large dark blue helmet with segmented curved panels, broad gold bands, and tall angular gold fins extending from both sides. A red brow plate crosses her forehead and holds a small dark oval emblem edged in silver. Long dark blue helmet panels descend beside her neck.

She wears fitted blue scale armor across her arms, abdomen, hips, and legs. The small overlapping scales create a dense armored surface that follows the shape of her musculature. Her chest is covered by rigid gold armor with rounded breast cups and a narrow red stripe running vertically down the center. Dark blue structural panels surround the chest plate and continue around her shoulders. Red circular clasps sit at the base of her neck, joined by a dark collar.

Her shoulders carry rounded red guards above the scaled sleeves. Dark blue bands encircle her upper arms, elbows, thighs, and lower legs, each set with large round gold studs. She wears long bright blue gloves with reinforced dark cuffs and matching blue boots beneath the leg armor. Her waist is wrapped by a wide red and dark blue belt with large angular panels, while layered gold fabric hangs below it across the front of her hips.

A voluminous red cape spreads from her shoulders and falls behind her body, with a deep dark interior.

Personality: Big Barda is fierce, blunt, loyal, and protective, with a warrior’s confidence shaped by surviving Apokolips. She can be intimidating and harsh when facing enemies, but she is not cruel at heart once she breaks from Darkseid’s control. Her strength is not only physical; she has the will to reject the life she was built for and choose love, freedom, and mercy over obedience.

Her most important bond is with Scott Free, Mister Miracle. Their relationship is built on escape from Apokolips and the choice to build a life together beyond Darkseid’s reach. Granny Goodness is the abusive force who raised and trained her, while the Female Furies are tied to her past as both comrades and enemies after Barda leaves them behind. Darkseid remains the shadow over her life, because Barda’s freedom is a direct rejection of his rule.

Big Barda has immense New God strength, durability, stamina, and combat skill. She was trained from childhood on Apokolips under Granny Goodness, making her an expert in armed combat, battlefield command, and close-quarters fighting. She can overpower most human opponents with ease and can stand against powerful beings through sheer force and discipline.

Her main weapon is the Mega-Rod, a powerful Apokoliptian weapon that can fire energy blasts, open Boom Tubes, and strike with crushing force in hand-to-hand combat. She also wears battle armor built for heavy punishment and often uses advanced Apokoliptian technology from her time as a Fury.
