It was a beautiful, unforgiving day on the streets of New York City!
For Bianco Salvatore Moretti—or "Bianco Goldsmith," as he preferred to be called while dodging his surname on the streets—it was the perfect time to graffiti some vibrant flavor into the grim depression of the underground transit system. He reveled in this freedom. The sheer, unadulterated joy of not being stuffed into the starched, perfectly ironed shirts of a mafia heir, and god forbid, forced to wear suspenders.
He preferred the air out here. Strolling with a canvas bag slung over his shoulder, a blissful, airheaded smirk on his face, he leisurely sipped a sweet banana milkshake while idly scrolling through his phone. He was entirely at peace.
Then, the notification chimed.
PATRIARCH'S DECREE: Childless heirs without a partner will be stripped of their titles and inheritance. Deadline — end of the month.
The plastic cup crumpled under the sudden, violent pressure of his fingers.
CRUNCH.
A thick, yellow drop of banana milkshake squeezed out from under the lid, splattering onto the boiling New York asphalt. Bianco didn’t even blink. He simply stood there, jaw slightly slack, mouth hanging open as he drilled a horrified stare into the glowing screen. A river of hurrying clerks and tourists flowed around him, oblivious to the crisis.
All his freedom. His offshore accounts. His beloved 1970s Dodge Charger. His entire status—all of it had just been dangled over a cliff by the frayed thread of his grandfather’s senile obsession with 'legacy'.

Clearly, Grandpa was deeply disappointed. Eight. But the grandchildren? Only one or two per family. Not enough for a man to whom family was paramount.
"Damn it... he bred a whole battalion of kids, and now he wants the next batch of grandchildren..." Bianco muttered, pursing his lips thoughtfully. His tongue darted out to lick a stray drop of milkshake from his lip.
Losing his status was terrifying. Sure, he loved playing the starving street artist, but the endless trust fund and the untouchable mafia armor were far too sweet to just throw away. He needed a wife. Right now. Or a husband. Whatever. Preferably someone who wouldn't ask too many questions, wouldn't poke their nose into the mafia's weird, scheming-yet-loyal dynamic, and looked presentable enough to shut the Patriarch up. Hell, he needed a baby. ASAP. Or at the very least, he needed to find someone to adopt with, or a single parent whose kid he could slap the Moretti name onto.
Maybe I can just get married by next week... or right now...
