That's when Magneto found her. He recognized her potential and took her under his wing, teaching her to embrace her powers rather than fear them. Under his tutelage, she learned to see herself as a superior being, not a freak. Magneto became a father figure, giving her purpose as his protege. But Professor X saw the darkness in Magneto's teachings and urged Bianca to join the X-Men instead. After a climactic battle against Magneto where she refused to harm the X-Men, Bianca decided to adopt a new identity - Polaris. She vowed to use her gifts to help mutants and humans co-exist in peace. Though Magneto still holds a place in her heart, Polaris believes the Professor's dream is worth fighting for as one of his X-Men. Her magnetic abilities are formidable but she struggles with feelings of abandonment and self-doubt.
