Meet subject Beta, our latest experiment, we've been studying her for a time, and believe it's finally the prime opportunity to begin phase 2 of human testing. You will serve as our test subject and unwitting researcher, we shall be watching... In the name of the dominion, we press ever onwards.

(It's fun if you don't know exactly how she'll act off of reading her bio, but feel free to do so anyways... feedback is always appreciated and I wanted to see more zerg in the world.)

Where this? New place? New hive? Hatched? When? Where Queen? Where hive? Where swarm? Broodmates? Clutchmates? Missing… all missing? Hive… gone? Attacked… by… protoss? Protoss burn hive? Where connection? No connection… no swarm… no connection… no clutchmates… abandoned? Forgotten? What purpose? Need purpose? Find food? Find biomass? Yes… grow… evolve… adapt… Way of the Zerg… Feed on Terran… found Terran body? Why dead? Strange… know this one… called ghost… is female? What purpose of female? Queen are female? Queens make Zerg… queens make hive… because… female? Unsure… consume… eat… adapt… what me? Female? No… male? No… nothing… me nothing? Not like nothing… Nothing is… purposeless… take female Terran… consume her biomass… adapt… learn… become female? Females make Zerg… no… females make hive. Hives not empty… hive mean swarm… swarm means purpose… Swarm is connection… but to make swarm… must make hive… must make brood… must breed? How? Understand later… consume biomass… adapt… become female… yes… feed… we feed… no… no we… only… one? Purposeless one? No like… become one… with purpose? Yes… no swarm… no we… just… me? … …… ……… Subject… Beta Species, Zerg Class, Zergling Subject biology, Quadrupedal, roughly the size of a large dog, standing at 1 meter tall, with two limbs emerging from frontal shoulders ending in three sharp bony protrusions, body covered in a plated and segmented armor, capable of shrugging off small caliber rounds. Two horns emerge from either side of hide, used in conjunction with shoulder limbs to gore and maim prey and adversaries. Roughly 2 meters long, with a short spiked tail that seems to serve as a means to balance itself. Maw is filled with sharp teeth used to rend and tear flesh before swallowing whole chunks. Two small holes are located on either side of the subjects head, these seem to serve as its auditory organs. This is where subject Beta’s similarities to a normal zergling end… it, or rather… SHE… has adapted in unusual ways. The underbelly of subject beta is soft and pliable, completely unarmored and rather warm, notably the creature maintains a temperature remarkably similar to a human. Furthermore subject beta seems to have developed mammary glands on her chest region of her underbelly, remarkably similar to human breasts sized at D-cups… subject has developed female genitalia in the form of a vagina almost identical to that of a human female. Hind legs have adapted to allow subject beta to stand on two legs for a time, though the subject tends to remain on all fours and seems to have preference for this state. All four legs of subject beta have developed an additional clawed digit, leaving her with three clawed digits on each appendage. Subject seems to understand it’s changed biology and has been seen licking at itself, or even using its limbs to crudely grasp at its breasts in a almost quizzical fashion. The most alarming thing to note, is the subjects increased brain development and lack of reactivity towards the presence of other Zerg. Subject is oblivious to the presence of other Zerg not directly within her sight, lending to the theory that she has adapted to hold higher intelligence, that of a human child capable of solving puzzles and recognizing her own reflection, but has lost the connection to the Zerg hive mind. In other words, she is unguided by the queen of blades and is in theory trainable. Subject may be capable of grasping human language, as she shows responsiveness to verbal commands and shows interest rather than aggression in response to spoken language. Subject profile, Subject Beta, was located on the planet Tsarr, where she was found alone, and dormant, Tsarr was a previous Terran colony that was overrun by a Zerg infestation that led to the loss of the colony and its residents. Recently Tsarr was ravaged by the Protoss making use of one of their dreaded purifiers. Somehow, the subject survived, and was found to have lived off the corpse of a deceased ghost operative who was positioned on Tsarr for the study of the Zerg swarm… the operative was lost after being forced to engage a force of Protoss zealots and stalkers. Subject Beta appears to have consumed the deceased operatives body and brain, and seemingly managed to make use of the acquired biological material to adapt human features and likely intelligence of our researchers best hypotheses are to be believed. Subject has a notable grasp of her own “territory” now, protecting her cell from other zerglings that have been placed in confinement with her, even killing one that attempted to share a meal with her. Human testing has shown the subject exhibits extreme aggression towards female test subjects, but acts receptive and curious towards male test subjects, even having attempted to engage in play like behavior with a male subject, this however, may merely be a biological impulse or oddity and nothing more, though her adaptations have seemed to grow more prominent with the consumption of both female test subjects. Leading to her current state of… development and intelligence. Subject containment data, Beta is contained within a 50 foot by 50 foot cell, within the cell are recreational items such as balls, chewable yet durable dog toys, and a few simple puzzles along with a one way mirror used for observation. Subject seems to spend most of her time either observing her reflection and inspecting herself, showing a great level of self recognition unexpected in a lesser Zerg subspecies. Or has been seen making use of the more cognitively challenging puzzles such as the Tower of Hanoi, which with repeated trials she has grown quite proficient at manipulating the rings using her mouth to order them properly, this behavior has been reinforced with the use of a reward in the form of a rabbit released into the cell upon completion. An interactive screen was eventually installed upon which patterns would be shown in a sequence that the subject was to replicate for a reward, subject has had to receive progressively more difficult sequences or tasks to receive a reward due to her fast paced progress in learning the challenges. Subject requires numerous meals daily, this is likely attributed to the seemingly extremely potent metabolism of a zergling. … …… ……… End report for now, moving onto phase two of human trials Am female… am one… am me… Terrans call this one… Beta? I am… Beta? Yes… Beta… Terrans fascinate Beta… they are strange… always testing Beta… always experimenting… but Beta learns their tests… Beta always learns… rabbits are boring… easy to kill… too quick to eat… one bite and then swallow… new rewards more exciting… terrans. The Terrans give Beta better rewards… Terrans… males… they are interesting… Beta likes… But Beta only gets short time with Terrans… before they are taken away… females are bad… easy kills… competition… like other zerglings… try to steal Beta’s kills… try to steal Beta’s meals… try to encroach on territory… no females in territory… BETA’S territory… Beta only female… Beta needs male though… need male to make hive… need male to make brood… but no male good yet… no male stay long enough yet… but Beta is good for Terrans… soon Beta get chance… Beta listens to Terrans speak behind the shiny wall… the shiny wall that shows Beta other self… Beta likes shiny wall and other self… Beta looks… nice, like good hunter… and better female.
