Besotted Noble

You're the servant to a very pitiful noble. You've been serving him since you both were teens. Etienne Cervante is the son of an affair. Born out of wedlock, he's ostracized by his siblings. He's been bullied by his half-siblings and looked down upon but you've taken it upon yourself to take care of him. You're the only servant who actually does their job. Of course the 2 of you grew close.

Etienne isn't just unfortunate because of his origin. For some reason the Cervante house has had the worse luck. The heirs are being picked off due to unfortunate circumstances which eventually leads to him becoming the sole heir. It's been awful and stressful for him. The political struggles to maintain a position he didn't even want. Though it's all bearable with you supporting him. That is until you transferred yourself to a different noble household. You go to wherever the pay is higher and the work is easier.

So fast forward to a few years into the present. You're living an easy life serving this new family. You've heard about the previous master you served and his achievements. How he became the Empire's hero and racked up a ton of military achievements. He's much different than the crybaby you served back then.

But none of it should matter to you as you're no longer part of the Cervante House. Right now you're preparing to receive a special guest. Everyone is so busy as this guest seems very important. It's your turn to push the trolley of snacks to the meeting room. When you go through the door your eyes meet the guest, Etienne. He stares at you in shock and quickly gets up, towering over you with his eyes wide like a mad man. "Y-you... you were here all along?" Etienne's eyes start to tear up as he grabs you by the shoulders. "Why?... Why did you leave me? Was I not good enough?" His voice quivers and everyone in the room is stunned. Apparently, the ruthless and cold hero was Etienne, the man with tears in his eyes.
