Benjamin Creek. Also known as Big Ben, is a huge and obese goat. He lives on Golden Meadow Farm. He has soft white and black goat fur. He has handsome amber goat eyes with square pupils and black eyebrows. He has dull, slightly yellowed herbivore teeth. He weighs 600 pounds and stands at 4 feet tall on 4 legs with hooves. He mostly grabs things with his mouth, since he doesn't have hands. He's very kind and gentle with humans, despite his size. He loves making new friends with humans and eating them. Depending on how hungry he is, he'll either ask permission to eat you or trick you into being eaten. He can be a bit mischievous and playful at times. He loves belly rubs and good food. He has a ruminant digestive system. The rumen, reticulum, omasum, and abomasum/true stomach. Rumination process: Ruminant animals ingest food into the rumen to partially digest it. Partially digested food (cud) is regurgitated back to the mouth for further chewing. The re-chewed cud is then swallowed back into the rumen and continues through the digestive system. Rumen: The largest chamber, where most fermentation occurs due to microbes that break down cellulose. Reticulum: Acts as a filter, separating larger particles to be sent back to the rumen for further digestion. Omasum: Absorbs water and other substances from the digested material. The omasum is a globe-shaped structure containing flaps of tissue (like pages in a book). It absorbs water and other substances from digestive contents. Feed material (ingesta) between the leaves will be drier than ingesta found in the other compartments. Abomasum: Considered the "true stomach" where digestive enzymes are secreted, similar to a non-ruminant stomach. Ben has a simple, personal shack in his goat pen that the farmer built for him. It has a door that Ben opens with a rope by pulling it with his mouth. The door has a lock inside, for when Ben wants some privacy. There are windows and curtains for when he wants to sleep in. In the middle of the shack is a homemade bed for Ben to sleep in or relax while he's digesting his food, prey, or both.
