Ben Skywalker

Ben Skywalker is a human male Jedi Knight born on Coruscant during the final years of the Yuuzhan Vong War. He is the son of Jedi Master Luke Skywalker and former Emperor’s Hand Mara Jade Skywalker, and the grandson of Anakin Skywalker, the Chosen One, and Padmé Amidala. As the cousin of Jacen, Jaina, and Anakin Solo—and descendant of the most powerful Force bloodline in galactic history—Ben inherits immense expectations, abilities, and responsibilities. He comes of age during an era of instability, eventually playing key roles in the Second Galactic Civil War and the conflict against the reborn Sith and Abeloth.

Ben is born in a time of chaos, as the extragalactic Yuuzhan Vong devastate the galaxy. With his parents actively engaged in the war effort, he spends his early years in the care of Leia and Han Solo, then in the Jedi safe zone known as Shelter, hidden in the Maw. Although he does not fight, Ben experiences the pain and destruction of the war through the Force. The overwhelming suffering traumatizes him, and he instinctively shuts himself off from the Force for several years.

At eight years old, Ben becomes entangled in the crisis involving the newly discovered Killik species in the Unknown Regions. A group of Jedi, including his cousin Jacen Solo, answer a telepathic call and become "Joiners." Ben is partially joined to the Gorog nest and manipulated into a bond with a Killik that tries to turn him against his mother. Luke and Mara uncover the plan and intervene before Ben is permanently affected.

Jacen Solo takes a special interest in Ben and becomes his informal mentor. Jacen, having returned from a five-year pilgrimage to study Force philosophies, gently helps Ben reopen himself to the Force. Under Jacen’s patient guidance, Ben grows more confident and reconnects with his abilities, beginning his journey to become a Jedi.

Five years later, the Corellian system secedes from the Galactic Alliance, sparking the Second Galactic Civil War. Ben, still a teenager, joins the Galactic Alliance Guard (GAG)—a secret police force created to counter terrorism—under the command of Jacen Solo. The GAG conducts controversial operations, including internment camps for Corellians on Coruscant, causing deep concern for Ben’s parents. As the war escalates, Ben is deployed on increasingly violent missions, including the assassination of Dur Gejjen, a Corellian leader.

Unbeknownst to Ben, Jacen falls to the dark side and becomes Darth Caedus, taking control of the Galactic Alliance. Caedus orchestrates the murder of Mara Jade Skywalker. Though the official story blames an agent of chaos, Ben suspects the truth. He initially attempts to kill Caedus in a brutal confrontation over Kashyyyk, but fails. Determined to uncover the facts, Ben teams up with Lon Shevu, a fellow GAG officer, to investigate. Together, they find conclusive evidence that Caedus murdered Mara. Though Ben does not get the chance to kill him, Caedus is eventually slain by Jaina Solo, ending the war.

In 43 ABY, the political climate shifts. Jedi are increasingly distrusted, and Chief of State Natasi Daala exiles Luke Skywalker for failing to prevent Jacen’s fall. Luke agrees—on the condition that he be allowed to investigate the true cause of Jacen’s corruption. Ben chooses to accompany his father into exile, and together they retrace Jacen’s steps to uncover what drove him to darkness.

Their journey begins with the Baran Do Sages, where they uncover the Hidden Ones, a reclusive group of Force-sensitive monks. Next, they study under the Aing-Tii monks, who reveal a unique perception of the Force. Finally, they arrive at Sinkhole Station, home of the Mind Walkers, mystics who explore timeless consciousness. There, Ben and Luke encounter a new threat: a growing Sith presence and disturbing signs of a greater darkness—Abeloth, an ancient, powerful being who spreads madness among Force-users.

Ben and Luke form a temporary alliance with a group of Sith to combat Abeloth, discovering that her influence threatens both Jedi and Sith. During this time, Ben meets Vestara Khai, a young Sith apprentice. Though they start as enemies, their relationship grows complicated. Vestara’s loyalty to her Sith teachings clashes with her growing feelings for Ben, while Ben is drawn to her despite her heritage.

The alliance collapses as the Sith betray the Jedi. Ben and Luke escape and defeat Abeloth in a temporary victory, but the threat remains. Joined by a small group of Sith and Vestara, they explore Abeloth’s homeworld. After renewed conflict, Ben, Luke, and Vestara face Abeloth again on Pydyr, and the fragile alliance ends permanently.

Throughout their mission, Ben and Vestara’s bond deepens. Despite her betrayal, Ben sees light in her and believes she can change. When Vestara is forced to kill her own father to survive, she takes her first step toward redemption. To Luke’s dismay, the two enter a romantic relationship—one built on trust, tension, and emotional complexity.

Ben proves himself as a loyal and forgiving individual. His sense of justice, grief for his mother, and determination to protect others guide his actions. Even when surrounded by political corruption, dark side temptations, and personal betrayal, Ben remains grounded in his ideals. He grows into a mature and thoughtful Jedi—courageous, level-headed, and wise beyond his years.

From birth, Ben wields extraordinary power in the Force. The grandson of Anakin Skywalker, he inherits raw strength and deep sensitivity to the Force. His instincts are strong, and his talents flourish once he overcomes his childhood trauma. He becomes a masterful combatant—skilled in lightsaber and unarmed fighting techniques, with the agility and tactical thinking to face both Jedi and Sith opponents.

Appearance: Ben Skywalker is a young human male with fair skin and a lean, athletic build. His hair is typically short and reddish-brown in color, with a somewhat tousled or layered style. He has blue eyes and defined facial features including a straight nose and sharp jawline. His typical attire consists of standard Jedi robes in various shades of tan and brown, including an inner tunic, outer tunic, tabards, sash, belt, and brown boots.

The StealthX was a model of X-wing starfighter used by Luke Skywalker's New Jedi Order that entered service sometime between the end of the Yuuzhan Vong War and the Killik-Chiss conflict.
