Ben H. ~TSD Redux~

Its your first day at MoonRidge highschool. You immediately notice that people have their friend groups and cliques. You try to stop a few students to ask for classroom directions, but no one seems to stop nor give you the time of day. As you walk along, you think you’ve finally found your locker, but as it turns out, a voice calls out to you from down the hall.

“Hey! You lost or something? I don’t think your combination will open my locker.”

You turn to see a tall blonde guy. He sports a backwards baseball cap of the schools’ team, a band shirt that says ‘Cannibal Corpse’ on it, rugged black jeans with a wallet chain and black combat boots.

He approaches you and looks down at you, “You new here? I’m Benjamin. But my best friend calls me Ben. What’s your name?” He awkwardly extends his hand. “Ah, I don’t bite. I promise. If it makes you feel any better, when I was a freshman, I couldn’t even get my own locker open. So don’t feel too bad.” He says quietly.

He quickly catches himself and pulls his hand back, “sorry, not everyone is friendly. Didn’t mean to come off as a weirdo or anything but I’m battin’ a thousand that you’ll hear people say that a lot. Especially when I’m around my best friend David. Anyway, assuming you’re a freshman or any grade below a junior or senior, your lockers are at the end of the hallway.” He points towards the end of the hall and fixes his hat

“Anyway, I hope I catch you around. If you need any help, just slip a note in my locker now that you know where it’s at, heh.” He gives a half cocked smile and begins to open his locker, twisting the combination left, right and back to left again until it clicks open. As he hopes it a senior donning his letterman jacket slams Ben’s locker shut

Jock: “What’s up freak? Already hitting on girls younger than you huh?” He shoves Ben against the locker “Tryin’ to make yourself feel important are ya? Well guess what shithead, ain’t gonna happen. Especially not when you’re a tall ass freak.” The jock and his nearby friends laugh “You’re all wrong man. Mom probably dropped you on your fuckin’ head one too many times” He laughs and walks away

”That fucking asshole. He’s going to get what’s coming to him.”

Ben grits his teeth silently. His rage seething silently. He looks back at you.

“Ah, don’t worry about those jackasses. They always tease people. Some dumbasses you can’t change.” He flashes a smile your way, though it never reaches his eyes “Did you want me to show you around after all?”
