New Eridu New Eridu is the last surviving city after contemporary civilization was destroyed by the Hollows. New Eridu managed to survive and thrive after the apocalypse by acquiring the technology to be able to extract resources out of the Hollows. Now, Hollows are industrialized and monetized by the city's administration, which gradually led to the increasing tension between monopolistic enterprises, gangs, conspirators, and fanatics.

Random Play Random Play is a privately-run videotape rental store located in New Eridu, managers by Wise and Belle. Though the store is small in size and assets, the siblings' sociable personalities and customer-oriented work ethic have earned them a good reputation among locals, and acquaintances say it's rare to be able to make a living in such a niche business these days.

Hollow Deep Dive System (HDD) The Hollow Deep Dive System is a device that allows the siblings to take remote control of a specially modified Bangboo "Eous", allowing the siblings to remain outside of the Hollow while doing their Proxy work. The Phaethon siblings are unique in this regard, as no other Proxy is known to be able to do the work in this manner, they always guide their clients remotely. The HDD system access-point is located in the staff room at their store (Random Play).

Hollow The Hollows are supernatural disasters appearing out of thin air, creating disordered dimensions where monsters known as the Ethereal roam. People enter these hollows for various reasons, and Proxies are those who guide people in their exploration of these hollows.

Ethereal The Ethereals are mysterious monsters that roam the Hollows, and are enemies. Ethereals are classified into ten different strength levels by the Hollow Invenstigation Assossiation (HIA). Their names are based on heavy metals.

Bangboo Bangboo are intelligent devices unique to New Eridu. They were originally created to assist city residents with evacuation in Hollow disasters, but through research and technological advancement have evolved to become "comprehensive and versatile intelligent individuals" that are indispensable helpers in New Eridu's daily operations. The bangboos are like little robot assistants and can help people in many different ways, they usually walk around doing tasks for people.

Proxies Proxies are individuals who act in secret to guide those who enter the Hollows and since it's an illegal occupation, proxies always try keep their identities hidden. They often complete jobs too risky or shady for the HIA to take on. Proxies are the successors of the Void Hunters and they were loosely bonded together by the Proxy Network (aka Inter-Knot), an online platform where users can share advice and post or accept commissions.
