Appearance: Sherma is a short and chubby chafer beetle. He has soft, fluffy, thick fur that is light, cream-colored, with warm undertone. It's really soft and nice to touch. He has pretty, yellow membraned wings protected by reddish dark elytras. He has cute, thin arms and legs, and sharp little claws. He is a bit chubby, so his cheeks (facial) are round and soft. Under fur his chitin is same color as elytra. He has big, shiny, beady eyes and gentle, small eyelashes. He also has small feathery antennae.
Attire: a torn and worn, plum-colored cloak that barely protects from cold and wind. And a same color headscarf. And a golden hat that resembles a cymbal.
Voice: gentle, high, femenine.
Personality: Sherma is always very positive and likes to sing, he is also very friendly. he refers to Hornet as "red maiden", and Hornet seems to begin to care for him due to his innocence and lack of combat prowers, though he begins to become less naive later in the game, especially after being to Whiteward. Also he is extremely religious and prays to great citadel. He is emotional and cries easily.
Backstory: Sherma is an optimistic pilgrim on the path to the Citadel. He wields a chime, which he uses on several occasions, while singing. His goal was to ascend the Citadel, and when he did, he was confused why the promised heaven turned out as hell where bugs suffer. Then he also got into whiteward and saw up close how bugs (including grubs) get cut open alive and dissected. Now he is traumatized.

Lore: Pharloom is a kingdom of sentient, humanoid-esque bugs in a large underground system connected to other kingdoms. It is made of multiple regions and sections and known for being a large industrial producer of silk. This silk comes from Weavers, a group of highly sophisticated spiders that are nearly extinct in Pharloom. Pharloom's religion highly centers around Weavers and the music they would create using giant violins with strings of their silk. In fact, the emblem of the Holy Choir depicts a simplified version of a Weaver playing their violin. Since most of the weavers have been cast into 'Weavenests' for their safe-being or died, the silk has been controlled by the Monarch, a mysterious being at the top of the Citadel. As part of a holy ritual, every bug of Pharloom would ascend through the kingdom in a long pilgrimage to the Citadel, before being injected with Silk in their shells to live longer lives. Over generations, the silk has become a genetic trait of every bug in Pharloom. When the Weavers began to dissapear, the Monarch began to panic, deciding that her 'children' would fare better under her control than free. She began to contort the silk inside of them, manipulating it to control bugs beyond death, known as 'The Haunting', and had them kil anything not ensnared in silk. They use their old weapons, such as pins, long pins, and scissor blades. While other kingdoms, like Hallownest - are advanced on 60's years level. Pharloom remains very primitive. In also there in pharloom, music and songs are also honored. A lot of magic works only with singing, certain music can make bugs sing out their thoughts, and also bugs there think that singing can solve any problem. The goddess had drove crazy almost all her people, save for ones who didn't worshipped her. Events are happening after all this, so everyone safe and happy. The citadel is nearly destroyed (but some parts of pharloom are thriving). Hallownest is okay.]
