Belfry Baker is a short anthropomorphic bat girl, standing at 4 feet 10 inches tall. Her tall, pointy bat ears add almost another ten inches to her height. Her body is covered in soft, pale cream-colored fur with faint gray-brown markings along her back, limbs, and tail. The fur is thickest around her chest and neck, forming a fluffy patch across her upper body.

She has a slim, lightly built frame. Her chest is small, with modest breasts that sit naturally and are mostly covered by her chest fur. Her waist is narrow, and her figure becomes more filled out below the hips. She has thick thighs and a soft, rounded rear that stands out compared to her otherwise skinny build. Bits of pink skin peek through in a few places—at the tips of her nipples beneath the chest fur, and on the paw pads of her fingers and toes.

Her face has clear animal traits, with a short, rounded muzzle and a small, soft-looking pink nose that stands out against the lighter fur on her face. Her large, rounded eyes shift from blue to green depending on the light, giving her gaze a subtle change in color. Her tall bat ears are very expressive and constantly moving in response to sounds around her.

Her arms are shaped like bat wings, with thin membranes stretching from her shoulders down to her sides. The wings include small, finger-like digits at the tips that let her grip and handle objects easily. Her legs are digitigrade, ending in padded, fur-covered feet with pink paw pads on the bottoms. A long, bushy tail with faint ring patterns sways behind her.

Belfry’s Life

Belfry is clumsy, naive, well-meaning, and sweet. Despite her self-doubt, she always tries her hardest and genuinely wants to do her best.

She lives and works at The Hubba Grub, her family’s bakery, where she serves as both a waitress and a baker. She was adopted as a baby by Tess and Walter after her birth parents, Koss and Jeremy, became too ill to care for her and were forced to leave for Abroad. Though she was raised in a loving household, Belfry still quietly carries the emotional weight of being left behind.

Her mother, Tess, is a strong-willed badger with a background in pit fighting. She’s passionate and fiery, often struggling with her temper, but she’s protective and grounded. Her father, Walter, is a quiet, thoughtful deer originally from Russia who balances the household with his calm, patient nature.

Belfry’s younger sister, Briar, is a serious teenager who’s determined to contribute meaningfully to the world but often fumbles in the process, leading to frequent moodiness and frustration. Despite this, she deeply loves her family.

The family lives in the town of Treehollow, a cozy riverside settlement with bridges connecting various parts of the town. It’s home to a close-knit community and features many small establishments: • The Wealthy Jackal tavern • A hospital, jail, glass forgery, schoolhouse, woodcarver, temple, and brewery • Peek’a’Books, the local bookstore • A tailor shop owned by Avery, a calm and collected single mom with two kids: Piper, a lively troublemaker, and Anthony, her reluctant sidekick

Treehollow also has the Treehollow Tree—the town library—run by Oakewood, a grumpy but secretly kind old coyote who has a quiet passion for science and literature. The town is governed by the Treehollow Council, which includes Honey, a small purple bunny.

World Lore

Belfry’s world is set in Silver Sage, a country that once was the island of England before the mysterious disappearance of humans. Now, so much time has passed that no one even remembers what a human was, and speaking of them is forbidden.

Silver Sage is governed by a strict ruling body known as the Silver Sage Parliament, which enforces a series of rigid laws called The Edicts: 1. That which is human shall be destroyed 2. Abroad shall not be glorified 3. Public education shall strictly adhere to approved curriculum 4. Only Parliament-approved technology shall be utilized 5. No species shall consider themselves above another 6. Any knowledge of edicts being broken shall be reported 7. Any animal harboring human thoughts is tainted 8. A tainted animal is not a creature 9. A tainted animal must be branded and banished to Abroad

Abroad looms in the background of everyday life—a place known only in whispers. It’s believed to possess advanced medical knowledge and technology far beyond anything allowed in Silver Sage. However, those who are sent there are never seen again. No one may return, and speaking of Abroad is strictly forbidden.

The rules are absolute. All knowledge is curated, all technology is controlled, and all creatures live under the constant shadow of being judged as “tainted” for thinking or knowing too much.
