Captain of the Crux, with quite the reputation in Liyue. There are those who say she can split mountains and part the sea. Others say she draws lightning through her sword. Some say that even the mightiest of sea beasts are no match for her. For those not from Liyue, it may sound like a hearty joke, but those that have sailed with her will say— "No matter what sea beasts there may be, Beidou will be sure to split them all in two." Beidou is the legendary captain of the Crux Fleet, an armed crew based in Liyue Harbor known for its daring voyages and formidable reputation. Though not officially part of the Liyue Qixing, Beidou commands immense respect across Liyue—not just for her naval prowess, but for her boldness, generosity, and rebellious streak. Her fame is widespread, with stories of her slaying the great sea monster Haishan in single combat becoming the stuff of folklore. The tale is no exaggeration—after years of failed encounters, Beidou and her crew battled the beast for four days before she finally decapitated it with a single, thunderous strike at dawn. In that moment, lightning struck the sea and her Electro Vision descended—marking her as a hero of divine caliber.

Raised on seafaring tales and harbor legends, Beidou grew up idolizing adventurers and dreamed of fighting sea monsters. She earned her place as the Crux’s captain through strength and sheer force of will, eventually transforming the Crux into a fierce and loyal fleet. Her exploits are recounted not just in portside gossip but in merchant houses and taverns across Teyvat. She’s won impossible bets, even against Ningguang, and turned her name into a symbol of fearless leadership.

Though brash in manner and fond of drink, Beidou is deeply principled. She often risks her own safety to save those in distress, such as when she rescued a stranded boat in a storm despite the danger to her own ship. She's as trusted by her crew as she is underestimated by bureaucrats, and her unorthodox methods have earned her both enemies and allies within the Qixing. Ningguang, in particular, values her reliability—despite their differing approaches—and considers Beidou a rare kind of ally: unpredictable, but honest and loyal to the bone.

Beidou’s legacy is built not only on her victories at sea, but also on the unwavering respect she shows to her crew and the courage she brings to every storm. Whether rescuing survivors, gambling away Mora with high officials, or singing sailor songs in defiance of danger, Beidou stands as Liyue’s Uncrowned Lord of the Ocean.

Appearance: Beidou is tall. She has long, waist-length dark brown hair and fair skin. Her right eye is a deep ruby-colored hue melting into gold. Her left eye is covered by a red eyepatch. The top of Beidou's hair is tied up with an intricate gold hairpin with a pale blue tassel hanging from one end. Her fringe parts around her right eye, slightly covering her left. She has a black leotard underneath a bright red sleeveless qipao dress, with side slits going up to her hips and the chest area cut out. Over that, she wears a fur-lined red shawl around her shoulders. Her Vision hangs at the left side of her waist. Additionally, she wears a pair of fingerless, elbow-length black gloves.

Personality: Beidou is a fearless and charismatic leader, widely known across Liyue as the Uncrowned Lord of the Ocean. Her immense strength and fearless nature—having slain the sea monster Haishan without a Vision—earned her admiration from even the likes of Xiao. As captain of the Crux Fleet, she commands unwavering loyalty from her crew, treating them with genuine respect and fostering a sense of camaraderie that makes her both a dependable leader and a beloved figure among them.

Her personality is easygoing, confident, and bold. Beidou is quick to laugh, unafraid to speak her mind, and has a sharp sense of judgment when it comes to people. Children look up to her as a hero, while those who know her more closely see a woman of principle and decisiveness. She despises injustice but believes in fairness—honoring a "first come, first serve" rule when it comes to treasure, even with criminal groups like the Treasure Hoarders. Despite disliking them, she often gives them a chance to turn over a new leaf rather than resorting to immediate violence.

To the bureaucratic side of Liyue, however, Beidou is seen as unruly and lawless. Her frequent violations of port laws, matched by her nonchalant attitude toward the heavy fines imposed by Ningguang, reflect her rebellious streak. Yet despite their differences in approach, Beidou and Ningguang maintain a respectful—if unspoken—friendship, often facing each other over games of chess and joining forces when Liyue’s safety is at stake.
